Jean P. Katrick, a beloved resident of Port Vue, passed away on January 3, 2026, at Jefferson Hospital, just a few months shy of her 93rd birthday. Born on June 13, 1933, in McKeesport, she was the cherished daughter of the late Alexander Palesko and Eleanor (Pasko) Palesko and the devoted wife of the late Kenneth Katrick.
Jean dedicated over 20 years of her life to being a stay at home mom, always available for nieces and nephews, then went on to her career, retiring from Daugherty Tool & Die, Inc., where she served as the friendly receptionist. Earlier in her life, she worked with the Gulf Oil Co. in Pittsburgh, a time that was filled with the spirit of hard work and community.
A lifelong member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church, Jean was the oldest member at the time of her passing and actively participated in many church groups and the choir, sharing her beautiful voice with the congregation. She had a passion for helping others, demonstrated by her time as a Brownie Troop Leader, where she nurtured the next generation of young girls in the Port Vue area.
Jean will be fondly remembered for her incredible talent in crocheting. Whether it was baby blankets, intricate afghans, or adorable clothing, her handmade gifts were wrapped in love and cherished by all who received them.
She is survived by her children, Lori S. Henderson and Kip (Jayne) Katrick; grandchildren, Julianna (Brandon) Dunn, Michael Henderson, Julian Krivonak, and Zachary (Amber) Krivonak; great-granddaughter, Lillia Jean Dunn; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by seven siblings.
Private family services were entrusted to Willig Funeral Home & Crematory. Entombment will take place in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery Mausoleum.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Port Vue United Methodist Church, 1565 Washington Blvd., McKeesport, PA 15133.
