Victoria "Vickie" Anne (Vance) Carroll, 63, of North Versailles, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, June 22, 2023. She was born May 24, 1960 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Paul and Lois (McKay) Vance. Vickie was preceded in death by her brother, David Scott Vance, and step-daughter, Tracy Henricksen. She was the beloved wife of Donald W. Carroll. Loving mother of Maelissa Gould of Fox Chapel, Joshua Gould of Huntington, WV, Michael Gould of Turtle Creek, and step-daughter Kristy Blitch of North Versailles. Proud grandmother and step-grandmother of June Gould, Oskar Petruska, Steven Thompson III, and Jaiden and Xander Blitch. Dear sister of Paula L. Vance and Sally Margaret Matan.
Vickie most recently worked at Sam’s Club in Monroeville, but started her career as a pharmacy technician at Shadyside Hospital. She loved her family and took time off from work to raise and homeschool her children. Above all, Vickie's faith in God sustained her throughout her life, and she enjoyed sharing God's love with others. She also enjoyed baking and cooking much to the delight of family and friends, listening to music (favorites included James Taylor, Carly Simon, and the Beach Boys), and visiting the ocean where her heart and mind were at rest.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway Ave., East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Interment will be private. Visitors are encouraged to wear purple in honor of Vickie's signature color.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Association (alz.org).
