James E. "Skip" Pierce, age 88, of White Oak, formerly of McKeesport, passed away on October 16, 2023.  Born October 23, 1934, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late James Pierce, Sr. and Agatha (Vickers) Pierce and the husband of the late Eileen A. (Johnson) Pierce.  James graduated from McKeesport Area High School in 1952.  He joined the Army in 1957 and would go on to work for Firth Sterling and then for General Motors Fisher Body as an Apprentice Journeyman Millwright.  After retiring from General Motors, James worked part-time for the City of McKeesport Parking Authority.  James was an active volunteer throughout McKeesport with the International Village, where he was known as "The Ice Man," the Christmas parade, the George Washington recreational basketball program, and as a coach for McKeesport Central Catholic basketball.  James kept active as a member of a bowling league and walks through Renzie Park.  He always enjoyed family trips and was known for being caring and generous.

James is survived by his daughters, Coleen (David Christopher) Tokosh of White Oak and Laura (William) Klimek of Elizabeth Twp.; grandchildren, John (Kristen Bellay) Tokosh IV, Dr. Joseph (Aleah) Tokosh, Daniel Klimek, Brian Kwiecinski, and Chad Biagini; sisters, Roberta Pierce of Glassport, Mary Price of LA, Margaret "Peg" (Angelo) Norelli of Glassport, and Patricia Pierce of Liberty Boro; sister-in-law, Marlene "Jeanie" Hayes of McKeesport and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by brothers, Raymond "Fu," Bill "Sonny", and Clyde "Bud" Pierce.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.  A blessing service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10 a.m.  The burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.  Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.  Chris Odasso, Supervisor
