Albert Dale Dick Sr., 90, of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away at home on Sunday, January 21st, 2024. He was born in Wilkinsburg, PA on November 21, 1933, to the late Herbert and Georgia (Buell) Dick. He graduated from North Huntingdon High School in 1953. He loved sports, and enjoyed being a part of the football, wrestling, and baseball teams. Upon graduation, he joined the Army as a paratrooper, serving a period of his time stationed in Greenland. He had many jobs throughout his life including; paper delivery, truck driver, dock worker, painter, and most recently custodian of Norwin School District. He retired from Norwin after 25 years. He was a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church, and enjoyed spending his Sunday’s as an Elder there. Those that knew him would say he was a character, always ready to tell his stories to anyone willing to listen. He was an animal lover, who enjoyed sharing his meals with the dogs, and having his cat sit in his lap for hours at a time while watching sports on TV. He also loved playing cards, going to see high school musicals, meeting new people, and traveling with the AARP. Surviving Albert are his children, son Albert (Shelia) Dick, daughter Janet (Barry) Conley, his beloved cat, Herbie, his grandchildren Kimberly Conley, Madison Dick, Allison Dick, Brian Dick and brother Jim Dick. Besides his parents, Albert is preceded in death by his wife Louise, and siblings Herbert T., C. William, Mary Ann and MAry Ann. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, Pa on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held Friday 11 AM at the Christ Lutheran Church in Forest Hills. PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH. Interment will be private in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
