Thomas V. Morrissey, age 80, of White Oak, died peacefully on August 31, 2025. Born December 21, 1944, in Mt. Pleasant, he was the son of the late Thomas V. and Sadie (Bergan) Morrissey. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Norene (Kozdras), daughter Kim Kennedy (Tim) and preceded in death by his son Tom Morrissey, Jr. He was a grandfather to four beautiful granddaughters; Emily, Norah, Kelly, and Shannon. He was also 'Uncle T' to many nieces and their families.
Tom's dedication to service extended throughout his life. A proud Army Veteran, he served his country in Germany during the Vietnam War, embodying the values of courage and resilience. After his time in the military, he brought his work ethic to the U.S. Steel, where he contributed at both the National Tube Works and Christy Park. Later in life, he took on the role of Security Officer at the Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport, a position he held until his retirement, ensuring the safety and well-being of those around him.
A man of deep convictions, Tom was an esteemed member of the Masonic community, holding the rank of Master Mason at the Centennial Lodge, and he was also a proud member of the Scottish Rite and enjoyed bringing joy to children as a Shriner clown (Redd). He was also a member of the Smithton American Legion Post 790 and the 40/8 subgroup.
Tom enjoyed fishing and going for long drives with Norene, especially returning to Smithton. His memory will certainly live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
