Mary Ann (Novotny) Zilinskas, age 91, of North Huntingdon, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Grandview Estates in Elizabeth, PA. She was born on May 14, 1934, in Homestead, PA, to the late John and Mary (Mikula) Novotny.

A member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon, Mary Ann cherished her Slovak heritage, was a member of the First Catholic Slovak Union and enjoyed sharing in the joys of family life raising her children and being a homemaker. In her younger years, she loved going to dances and bowling. Mary Ann adored spending time with her family and supporting her children and grandchildren at their many music, sporting, and dance events. Her interests included caring for her beloved cats and plants, reading, playing cards, shopping with her daughters, and playing the slots on occasion. Mary Ann had a zest for life and loved to travel and took many memorable trips to Las Vegas with her daughters and to California to visit her son and husband’s family.

Mary Ann was married to the late Victor M. Zilinskas for 65 wonderful years. She is survived by her children: Victor (Rosalinda) Zilinskas of Palo Alto, CA; Susan A. Zilinskas of North Huntingdon; and Melissa Ann (Mark A.) Prutz of North Huntingdon. She was a proud grandmother to Victor Q. Zilinskas and Owen Marek, as well as Braydon, Nicholas, and Mila Ann Prutz. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her siblings: John (Agnes) Novotny, Pauline (James) Nieding, and Frank (the late Charlotte and late Evelyn) Novotny.

The family will welcome friends for memorial visitation on Thursday, October 9, 2025, from 2 to 8 p.m. at MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110 (412-466-3300), WILLIAM B. SCHLEIFER, SUPERVISOR, WILLIAM BRIAN SCHLEIFER AND ALLAN J. WEBER, FUNERAL DIRECTORS. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon. Guests are kindly asked to meet at the church.

Over her life, Mary Ann donated to many animal charities. Donations are welcome to be made, in her memory, to the White Oak Animal Safe Haven, 2295 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131.
