Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | October 26, 2025

John Stephen Fecsko "Steve" of Sewickley Township age 70, died October 24, 2025, in the arms of his fiancé after a fierce yet brief fight with the return of renal carcinoma. Born in Quantico Virginia on December 16, 1954, he was the oldest and only boy to John and the late Helen Mayowski Fecsko. He was preceded in death by two of his siblings, Cynthia Peters in 2017 and Diane "Dee" Guerriero in 2018. Steve is survived by his sister Brenda Stone (Todd) and many nieces and nephews. Steve worked at Wholesale Distributors, US Steel and finally put down roots at BNY Mellon from where he retired early to help care for his father. He lost his wife Andrea of 18 years, suddenly in 2005. After 12 years as a widow, he met his fiancé, Tina Daniels and they had been inseparable ever since. Steve and Tina enjoyed his Harley, fishing, concerts, movies and dining out at all sorts of places, casinos, Seven Springs and the occasional get away to a music festival or traveling to Erie to see the eclipse. They lived a lifetime in the 8 years they were together. Every day was an adventure as long as he was with his "honey". He will be remembered as a gentleman and a person who opens car doors and makes an effort to remember everyone’s name. Steve was always there to lend a hand or sit with someone grieving or sick. and never missed a birthday with a card and some cash. He was generous and kind and fit right in with Tina's family, helping any way he could to make holidays and events even more special. He enjoyed every minute of it too. He will be missed by so many whose lives he touched. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4-8 PM at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home Inc, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com
