Mabel L. "May" Turkovic, 78, of Herminie 2, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2025 at Westmoreland Hospital in Greensburg. She was born June 22, 1947 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Charles and late Loretta (Reali) Roberts. She was the wife of the late John M. Turkovic and longtime partner of the late Rick Horvath. 

Mabel worked many years for St. George Crystal in Grapeville, where she made numerous lasting friendships. She was a strong spirited woman with a unique personality, and embraced life in her own distinctive way. She loved her cats, gardening, riding her motorcycle/scooter, and wolves. Despite numerous health challenges, she always put her family first, and offered support whenever it was needed. She made an impact on everyone she met, and her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched.

She is survived by daughters, Lori Kildow, Susan Futrick, Alice "Twiggy" Keenist and Marcella "Sally" (Andy Casino) Turkovic; grandchildren, Wade and Jesse Kildow, David Assenti, Hannah Staigvil and Ronald Futrick; 5 great-grandchildren, Wylie, Buckley, Jaxon, Calleigh and Lilly; sister, Elizabeth Shaffer; nephew, Ronald "RJ" Shaffer; and lifelong friend, Bella Hinnerman;

 In addition to her parents, husband and partner, she was preceded in death by many beloved pets, especially Boo Boo. There will not be any visitation. A celebration of Life service will be held a later date. Memorial contributions in Mabel's name may be made to an animal rescue of your choice.
