Albert A. Yuhas, age 93, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, at Hospice House in Bend, OR. Albert was born on October 28, 1932, in Duquesne, PA. He was the youngest child of Andrew and Mary (Straka) Yuhasz. His parents and brother John and sister Helen preceded his death. His wife, Geraldine, passed away on July 24, 1994. Geraldine and Albert were married on February 11, 1956.

He is survived by his sister Alice Svirble of West Mifflin. Albert has three surviving children, Linda Phelan, Martin Yuhas and Andrew Yuhas. Also surviving are his grandchildren Sarah, Katie, David and Bradley. In Al’s later years, his greatest joy was his four great grandchildren, Gunner, Rosy, Luke and Riley.

Albert joined the Marine Corps soon after graduating from high school. He served at Camp Lejune and was honorably discharged on February 3, 1961.

Albert was a steelworker, employed by, initially, at US Steel in Pittsburgh and later at Midwest Steel in Portage, IN. He lived may years in Michigan City, IN, where he and Geraldine raised their children and managed to put all of them through college. After Geraldine’s passing, he moved to Portland, OR, where his daughter and two grandchildren lived. During that time, in retirement, he spent much of his time volunteering for St. Vincent de Paul and Meals on Wheels. He was active in the Knights of Columbus for most of his adult life. He loved to fish, hike, hunt and play golf. He had a wonderful sense of humor! Sadly, Al suffered a massive stroke in 2006 which had an impact on his ability to speak and walk for the rest of his life. He was cared for by his daughter until his passing.

Albert’s ashes will be buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin, next to his beloved wife. The graveside service will take place on April 11, 2025.
