James J. Moss, age 70, of Export, formerly of McKeesport, died January 16, 2026, at Greene Health and Rehab. Born August 27, 1955, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late James H. and Garnet (Garner) Moss.

James embraced life with a spirit that resonated through the many roles he played as a jack-of-all-trades. His curiosity and pursuit of adventure led him on countless hunting and fishing trips with friends to Tionesta, where laughter and camaraderie thrived amidst nature's beauty. James was a proud member of the Allegheny Valley Sportsman Association, where he shared his passion for the outdoors with fellow enthusiasts. His enthusiasm for life and the great outdoors will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by children, Shawn (Tiffany) Moss, Cheryl (Sam) Pellecchia, Jennifer (the late Mark) Moss-Harris, and Jamie (Ed) Graft; grandchildren, Aeraeh, Emily, Katie, Bethany, Tabatha, Dylan, Eddie, Ashley, Andrew, April, Cheyenne, and Austin; great-grandchildren, Damari, Armoni, Malani, Jionni, Thailynn, Vaeda, and Kolten; sisters, Audrey (Phillip Koutsouliou) Moss and Theresa Drye. He is also survived by extended family and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Cheryl Ann Moss and Mary Jane Caston.

Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. The burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Park. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
