David R. “Pappy” Crosby, 81, of Glassport, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on Monday, February 9th, 2026, at his home. He was born in McKeesport on February 8, 1945, to the late Frank and Ann Dmytrysczak Crosby. He is survived by sons, Lance (Jamaica) Crosby of West Mifflin, Colin D. Crosby of Glassport, brother Fran (Ellan) Crosby of Elizabeth, grandchildren Naomi Crosby, Miriam Crosby, Isaac Crosby, and Luke Crosby, nephews Chris Crosby, Fran Crosby, Mark Crosby, Jason Crosby, and Ron Jr. Crosby, nieces Darcy Crosby Garrett and Paula Crosby as well as special great-nephews Jesse and Wyatt Crosby. David was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ron Crosby and Paul Crosby, and sister Miriam Clayton. He served in the U.S. Army, 101st Airborne, where he was stationed in Korea, and was briefly involved during the Vietnam War, earning the shooting expert badge BAR. David enjoyed hiking, especially in Arizona, hunting, and was an avid outdoorsman. He worked many years with Bill Spell Home Improvement, primarily as a roofer, and previously worked at the Homestead Works. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 9:30 A.M. – 11:30 A.M. at E.C. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 235 Monongahela Ave, Glassport, PA 15045. A service will follow at the funeral home at 11:30 A.M., to be followed by interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1:30 P.M.
