Rachel M. Jones, age 34, of McKeesport, died at home on February 9, 2026. Born November 5, 1991, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of Marla (Vincent Brown) Jones and Larry Pennington. Rachel was a radiant presence in the lives of all who knew her. She worked with heartfelt dedication in the Food Service department at Penn State Greater Allegheny, where she not only contributed her talents but also pursued her bachelor's degree in Information Technology and Business Management. Her passion for learning was matched only by her commitment to serving others. A strong advocate for social justice and equality, Rachel was a proud supporter of the American Civil Liberties Union, Planned Parenthood, the Wounded Warrior Project, and numerous other causes that uplift marginalized voices. Her liberal values were a guiding light in her life, inspiring those around her to stand firm in their beliefs and fight for a better world. Rachel faced her challenges with unmatched courage and grace, demonstrating strength in every aspect of her life. Her battle with epilepsy was a testament to her resilience; it was the only fight she ever lost, having inspired many with her tenacity and hope.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, James Jones; grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Jones; aunt, Mary Jean Seddon "Auntie M", and uncle, Christopher Jones; goddaughter, Legacy; godson, Mason; and best friend, Raven. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Lawrence Jones.
