Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | February 21, 2026

Mona Jane Miller, age 77 of Greenock, PA passed away peacefully after a short illness on February 19, 2026.

Born in Clairton, PA to Jack and Nancy Strange on March 12, 1948. As a child she was always keeping up with her five brothers climbing trees, making mudpies, and getting into mischief. She begged for a sister and finally got one when she was 10 years old. Mona graduated from Clairton High School in 1965. She went on to Community College where she met and married Harry Raymond Miller. Together they welcomed their children David and Rebecca. Mona's in-laws Harry and Olive Miller loved her as their own daughter. Even after Harry's death in 1988, her in-laws were her family and she helped care for them until they passed.

Mona worked at White Oak's Pizza Hut for many years. After a career in the serving industry, she went to ITT Tech and graduated with a degree in computers with highest honors.

Very petite at 4 feet, 10 inches, Mona packed a lot of personality into her small frame! An avid reader with a sweet and gentle soul who never held back when she felt strongly about something. She most loved her family, a good book, a cup of tea (with lots of sugar!), and a trip to the goodwill. Mona had a sweet tooth, loving chocolate the most, she considered it a whole food group. She loved watching Adam Lambert music performances and recently told her nurse she could "eat him up!" with a smile on her face. Mona was well read and suggested that all of the world's problems could be solved if "everyone could just be kind to each other!" She broke the mold and will be greatly missed by her family.

Mona is survived by son, Dave (Kate) Miller of White Oak, PA and Becky (Brian) Erickson of Elizabeth, PA. Also survived by her grandchildren that she adored and spoiled, Cameron and Colton Erickson of Elizabeth, PA, and Myles and Tessa Miller of White Oak, PA. Also survived by brothers, Jay Strange, Jack Strange, Randy Mennetti, Larry Mennetti and sister, Bonnie Filer. Proceeded in death by Harry Miller, her parents, in-laws, brother Perry Strange, and Nephew David Perry Nolder.

The family would like to thank UPMC Canterbury Place Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.

Her services are private. Arrangements were entrusted to Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com.
