Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | February 24, 2026

Hillary "Jamie" Gene Jamison, age 84, of Liberty Borough, passed away on February 22, 2026, at home. Born January 1, 1942, in Clairton, he was the son of the late Hillary Gene and Cora Jean (Harrison) Jamison, and he was the beloved husband of Marge Ann (Fordian) Jamison for 57 years.

Hillary, affectionately known as "Jamie," honorably served his country as a U.S. Navy Veteran, attaining the rank of 3rd Class Petty Officer stationed aboard the USS Whetstone LSD27. His commitment to service did not end with his military career; he devoted 35 years to U.S. Steel Irwin Works as an annealer, where he established lasting friendships and earned the admiration of his colleagues.

A member and usher of the Port Vue United Methodist Church since 1968, Jamie embodied the spirit of faith and community. His unwavering dedication to his church and family will be remembered fondly by all who knew him.

Jamie was a man of simple pleasures. He found joy in watching his favorite television shows, including "Blue Bloods," "Chicago Med," "Chicago Fire," and "Chicago P.D." His love for cinema was highlighted by his favorite movie, "Kelly's Heroes," while the song "Burning Bridges" held a special place in his heart. An ardent fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, he always enjoyed watching them play.

In his leisure, Jamie delighted in playing cards, especially solitaire, and enjoyed leisurely activities such as bowling, hunting, and fishing. His vacations in Knoxville, TN, brought him great happiness, as did tracking the Pennsylvania Lottery numbers, a tradition he upheld in memory of his late sister, Beatrice.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children, Scott (the late Anne) Jamison of Kittanning, Amy (Richard) Harris of North Huntingdon, and Eric (Robin Corner) Jamison of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren, David Jamison, Melanie Jamison, Jamie (Jamison) McGlinchey, Coralynn Harris, and Nickolas Harris; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by siblings, Howard Allen Jamison, Beatrice (Jamison) Zoscak, Jim Jamison, Donna (Jamison) Jerome.

Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 10 a.m. at the Port Vue United Methodist Church. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. The burial at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park will be private. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the family.
