Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | April 01, 2026

Ronald E. Cucchi went to be with our Lord and Savior on March 22, 2026 in the comfort of his own home. Born on March 31, 1939, Ron attended the University of Miami in Florida, where he played collegiate baseball. He loved to polka dance, where he met his wife, Mary Lou. Ron was an avid scratch golfer, loved watching the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers, and Penguins, camping at Scottyland Campground, and thoroughly enjoyed yardwork - he always had an immaculate yard. He was also a longtime member of the Boston Vets.
A loving husband of 51 years and a loving and caring father, Ron was friendly to everyone. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He adored his children and grandchildren, who fondly referred to him as Pap Pap.
Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Cucchi, his father, James Cucchi, and his granddaughter, Nicole George. He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou Cucchi, children, Denise Gasper and Robert (Angela) Gasper, grandchildren, Calista Gasper and Zandra Gasper, and great-grandchild, Samuel George.
Family and friends will be received at the Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on April 6, 2026 from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.willigfuneralcremationservices.com.
Ronald donated to and supported many veterans' associations over the years; therefore, memorial contributions are suggested to a local veterans' association of your choice.
