A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Tom lived a full and meaningful life centered around family, hard work, and service to his community. He was a longtime member of Elizabeth United Methodist Church and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Albany, spending time in the Mediterranean Sea.
Tom was a skilled craftsman whose career reflected both talent and dedication. He worked as a cabinet maker at Dreschler’s Cabinet Company in Elrama before going on to found and operate Rondell Cabinet Company. Even into his 80s, he continued to lend his expertise by repairing and maintaining chiropractic tables for local doctors—a testament to his strong work ethic and willingness to help others.
He was deeply involved in his community, holding membership in VFW Post 7632 (Kastan-Uveges Post), Stephen Bayard Masonic Lodge #526, and a former member of the Elizabeth Lions Club, and a charter member of the Forward Township Fire Department. Tom valued camaraderie and service, and these organizations were an important part of his life.
Born November 3, 1934, in Castle Shannon, he was the son of the late Elmer and Ellen (Haywood) Cain.
Above all, Tom will be remembered for the love he shared with his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Joanne (Charles) Cain; his daughter, Kathleen (Jeremy) Kluegel; his cherished granddaughters, Jordan and Haley Vasko; his niece, Ashley Krznaric; and many devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will carry his memory forward.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister, Catherine, and his brothers, James, George, Howard, and Leroy.
Family and friends will be received at the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 3–8 PM, with a Masonic Service at 7 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ed Pope officiating. Interment will follow at Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Elizabeth United Methodist Church, 317 Second Avenue, Elizabeth, PA 15037.
Tom’s legacy of dedication, kindness, and quiet strength will live on in all who knew and loved him.
