Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | January 22, 2020

Jeffrey “Eb” Jackson, 65, of West Mifflin, departed this life on January 20, 2020. Jeffrey was born February 28, 1955 in Elizabeth PA and was the son of the late Howard C. Jackson Sr. and Erma Sally Jackson.

He was a graduate of Clairton High School and was employed by US Steel, North Carolina Mutual Insurance Company, Duquesne Family Support Center and Goodwill Industries of Lawrenceville, PA.

Jeffrey was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Duquesne, Pennsylvania where he served as Vice-President of the Hospitality Ministry. He was also a devoted member of the Pastor’s Aide Ministry and the Trustee Ministry.  Jeffrey was a hard worker for his church and he will be sadly missed.

Jeffrey played softball and was an umpire for over 30 years in the ASA softball league where he formed many long lasting friendships. His family remembers his avid love of sports and on any given Sunday during football season, you would find him in front of the TV watching and shouting for his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. One of Jeffrey’s favorite past times was to cook ribs and his competitive spirit led him to enter several rib competitions over the years and he even won a few. In the year 2000, Jeffrey and his wife Patricia opened Zay-Zay’s Ribs in honor of their son Isaiah and it still functions as a catering company today.

He leaves to mourn his wife of 27yrs Patricia Jackson of West Mifflin, his son Isaiah Jackson, daughters Natalie Jackson of West Mifflin, Erica Pruitt of Philadelphia, Shawntee Jackson of West Mifflin, Brandi Henley Fusilier of West Mifflin, Kimberly (James) Walsh of Brentwood, Amber Jackson of Duquesne, Shelly Smith of North Braddock, 7 grandchildren, and the children who affectionately called him Pap: Xionah, Payton, Brooklyn, Pearce and Selena, his mother-in-law Lorraine Hughes-Holmes, sister-in-law Desonda Hughes, brother-in-laws James Holmes, Darin Hughes, Howard (Stu) Stuvaints, Jawuan Hughes, Kenneth Hughes, Lawrence Addison, his life-long best friend Gregory Stewart of Clairton, and a whole host of extended family and friends.
