Mary J. Uveges , 99, of Elizabeth Township,  passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2020. She was born November 15, 1920 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Michael and Rosella (Lico) Tedesco. She was the wife of the late John "Jack" J. Uveges who passed away October 17, 1996. Mary was a member of the former St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Sutersville and worked for Westinghouse Electric Co. during WWII. She loved her dogs and cats and the results of her cooking talents will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Fay (Terry) Hines of Elizabeth Township and Jacklyn (Timothy) Galiyas of Palm Harbor, FL, sisters, Theresa Lindsey of Blairsville. Vivian Anchack of CA, and Beverly Filson of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Dr. Brent (Kristin) Hines and Blaise Galiyas, great-grandchildren, Kathryn and Jake Hines, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lawrence and Carmen Tedesco and sisters, Rose Frabizio, Chris Tedesco and Minnie Tedesco. There is no visitation. Services were held Thursday, January 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Mount Vernon Cemetery in Elizabeth Township. The Rev. Vincent P. Velas, officiated. Interment followed there. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Howspaws at 304 Depot Street, Youngwood, PA 15697.
