Ronald N. “Doc” Rascati, age 90, passed peacefully into the arms of Our Lord on February 14, 2026 – a perfectly fitting date for a man whose life was the definition of self-sacrificial love. Born July 15, 1935, to Ernest J. and Elizabeth (Massung) Rascati, Ron was raised in Clairton, PA, the youngest of three brothers.
Ron attended Clairton High School, where he excelled at baseball, and then went on to Tufts University and School of Dental Medicine. While in college, he worked summers in the steel mills and often made house calls with his father to people in need of medical care. It was in Boston that he met his courageous and loving wife, Jeanne. Upon finishing his studies, they returned to Clairton where he established a dental practice in his childhood home at 502 Walnut Avenue.
Ron was a huge sports enthusiast. Besides baseball and the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Boston Celtics and the Pittsburgh Penguins, his number one team was always the Pittsburgh Steelers. He held season tickets as far back to their playing days at Forbes Field!
Ron looked forward to lunch breaks at the ping pong table upstairs from his office. Also, he learned to play racquetball in his 40’s, played an occasional round of golf, and loved to test his passion for statistics at the blackjack table. (It’s also been rumored that he taught his grandchildren how to count with a deck of cards and some poker chips!)
After moving from their beloved home parish at St Paulinus in Clairton to their new home in Jefferson Boro, Ron and Jeanne settled into nearly 50 years of service at their new home parish of St. Thomas a’Becket. Ron’s skill at blackjack made him a natural fit to run the blackjack table at the church festival for 20+ years.
He had special bonds with each of his children and grandchildren. He found great joy in supporting their special events and athletic activities. He shared with them his passion for Civil War history, and also his special devotion to Our Blessed Mother. His children especially appreciated his gifts of patience, and guidance without lecture. The way he lived his Catholic faith was an inspiration to all of them.
Ron is pre-deceased by his wife of 59 years, Jeanne, his parents, Ernest and Bess, his brothers, Ernie and Tony, and his beloved granddaughter Ali, who was the sparkle in his eye, his constant companion, a special caregiver, and fellow sports enthusiast, who brought him tremendous joy and gave purpose to his life in his elder years.
He is survived by his eight children: Ann Rascati (John Cartwright) of Barnstable, MA, Steven Rascati of Vero Beach, FL, David Rascati (Annette) of Jefferson Boro, PA, Thomas Rascati, of Palawan, the Philippines, Jeanne Marie Shuey of Clairton, PA, Amy Alperi (Steve) of Davidson, NC, Teresa Kunzmann (Carl) of Adams Township, PA and Ernest Rascati (Sherri) of West Mifflin, PA. Ron is also survived by his adoring grandchildren: Jessica, Michael, Tomas, John, Daniel, Natalie, Max, Christina, Emma, Peter and Will, and by his spirited great-grandchildren: Aidan, Wesley, Penelope, Leiliana, Emmett, Mikayla, Lucy and Flynn. He also loved and was loved in return by many nieces, nephews and bonus family.
A wake will be held at S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025 on Friday, February 20 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM, with a Mass of Christian burial to be held at St. Thomas a’Becket Catholic Church, 139 Gill Hall Road, Jefferson Hills, PA 15025 at 10:00 AM on Saturday, February 21. Interment at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery will take place immediately following the Mass. Steve P. Sujeta, 93, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away Monday, February 16, 2026 in Whitehall Post Acute. An Air Force veteran having served in the Korean War, he was a member of Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary Russian Orthodox Church in McKeesport. He retired after more than 40 years as an electrician at U.S. Steel Clairton Works and served as vice president of the Clairton Steelworkers Union for eight years in the 1970s. He was a lifetime member of American Legion Post 75 and a member of the Elizabeth Twp. Sportsmen Club. He enjoyed bowling, fishing and target practice. Born January 24, 1933 in Clairton, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Kurutz) Sujeta. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma (Bickerton) Sujeta; children, Gregory (Lilly) Sujeta of Virginia Beach, VA, Gary Sujeta of Salt Lake City, Utah and Stephanie (Brad) Goe of Whitehall; grandchildren, Kayla, Charlotte, Stephanie, Charlie, Lily and Laila; also, nieces and nephews. William P. Valentyn, Sr., age 75, of McKeesport, died on February 15, 2026, at the Sycamore Estate Personal Care Residence. Born January 30, 1951, in Leiden, Holland, he came to America at the age of 7, on the Queen Mary. The son of the late Cornelus and Christina (Niewenhuizen) Valentijn and the husband of the late Lynn (Koltiska) Valentyn.
William was a proud member of the Carpenters Union and dedicated many fulfilling years to his craft at Rycon Construction. His skilled hands not only built structures but also created a legacy of hard work and integrity that will inspire those he has left behind.
A lifelong passion for raising birds brought joy to William's heart, reflecting his gentle nature and appreciation for life's simple pleasures. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, sharing laughter, stories, and a love that will resonate in their hearts forever.
He is survived by children, William P. Valentyn, Jr., and Jennifer Gorscak; grandchildren, Paige Gorscak and Sydney Gorscak; siblings, Alida Yoezle, of Osprey, FL, Tineke Pitoniak, of Sarasota, FL, Cor Valentyn of Mentor OH, Mary Ann Jones, of Bradenton, FL, and many nieces and nephews. Charles F. Pecar, 80, of Arden Court of Jefferson Hills, formerly of East McKeesport, died Friday, February 13, 2026. He was born April 11, 1945 in McKeesport, the son of the late Frank and Ann (Duhan) Pecar and was also preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Jo A. (Voyce) Pecar and his sister Barbara Ann Pavlic. Chuck served in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired as a lock & dam operator for the Army Corps of Engineers. When not working, Chuck enjoyed traveling to all 49 states, eating great food with his wife, riding his Harley, and spending time with his grandkids. He loved fishing, golfing, and spent many years on his boat with his family. He was proud of his Croatian heritage and was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union. Chuck loved music, playing his records, and was known to sing and dance on any occasion. Paul Gooch, 64, of North Huntingdon, passed away on February 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 12, 1961, in Glassport, a son of the late Paul and Evelyn (Yonek) Gooch. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sally (Schiavo) Gooch.
A graduate of Pittsburgh Technical College, Paul enjoyed a long career in the financial services industry. His profession allowed him to travel across the country; he especially cherished the many trips on which his wife Sally was able to join him. A lifelong Penn State football fan, Paul loved traveling for games and tailgates with family and friends and took great pride in visiting his children during their years at the University. He also had a passion for horse racing, often spending hours at his computer crafting spreadsheets to handicap the races and predict the next winner.
He is survived by his three children, Jeffrey (Samantha) Gooch, Sarah (Shawn) Wilke and William (Jordan) Gooch; his loving dog, Giacamo; and his six grandchildren, Jack, Theo, Matthew, Michael, Sally and Gabriel. He also leaves behind his sisters, Dolores (Billy) Urbansky, Paula (Casey) Sleva and Susie (John) Spanbauer; sisters-in-law, Marie (Tom) Rose, Barb (Mike) Duffy, Joanne (Harold) Fetch, Donna Schiavo and Teresa Schiavo; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. In addition to his beloved wife Sally and parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Salvatore Sr. and Sarah Schiavo, and brothers-in-law, Salvatore Jr. and David Schiavo.

Shirley J. Wisniewski, 82, of Elizabeth Township passed away Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born June 28, 1943 in Pittsburgh to the late Domenic and Rose Marie Barone. Shirley grew up in a traditional Italian family, where loyalty, resilience, and speaking your mind were simply part of everyday life. She carried those values with her always. A true spitfire, Shirley was strong-willed and never one to sugarcoat her words - sometimes stern but always loving and honest. Yet with her grandchildren, Shirley revealed her softer side. The same woman who had once been firm and unyielding became wonderfully easygoing and indulgent. She delighted in giving them everything they ever asked for. With them, her fire turned to warmth. Though these last couple years had been very hard medically, no cancer could seem to stop her. Beating one type of cancer after the next, Shirley fought harder than anyone else. She enjoyed cooking traditional Italian food for her family and she loved being the matriarch especially at family get together and holidays. She is survived by her children, Malisa M. Migliori of North Versailles, Valerie Ringer of Versailles, Luke Wisniewski of Elizabeth Township, Eric Wiseniewski(Judith Rosenfeld-Wisneiwski) of South Park, and Jayson Wisniewski of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren, Eric (Jessica), Nicola, and Marco (Chelsea Rush) Migliori, David, Mitchell, Ryan, Ashley, Alisha, and Dylan Wisniewski; numerous beautiful great-grandchildren; a sister, Geraldine Frontera; and many nieces and nephews. Frank “Buzzy” Clyde Tibbitt, Jr., 91, of Irwin, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2026, surrounded by his family. A cherished father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Frank’s life was defined by devotion to those he loved.
He was born on September 23, 1934, in McKeesport, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Margaret and Frank C. Tibbitt, Sr. He was a protective and caring brother to Norma Ann Tibbitt and a beloved father to Deborah Swiech, Frank (Char) Tibbitt, Sr., and William Tibbitt.
Known affectionately as “Pap,” Frank was a devoted grandfather to seven grandchildren: Heather Swiech; Frank (Nicole) Tibbitt, Jr.; Jason Swiech; Erin (Tony) Madonna; Marcail (Craig) Kuzma; Robert (Jackie) Tibbitt; and Aubrey (Will) Haines. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Scarlett, Hailey, Azrael, Camilla, and many beloved furry and feathered family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, and his treasured dog, Daisy.
Frank graduated from Penn State McKeesport, now Greater Allegheny, with his associates degree. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Patrick Worship Site.
Frank built a long and dedicated career as a foreman in metal fabrication at Art Craft, Enamel Products, and Precoat, formerly of McKeesport, where he was respected and trusted to lead a team of linemen. He retired at 65, embracing the opportunity to devote his time to family, gardening, and mall walking.
He lived life fully and joyfully. He treasured traveling with his family, especially trips to the Jersey Shore, where he enjoyed the beach, good seafood, Lime Rickeys, time at the casino, and riding his bike or the tram car “on the boards.” An enthusiastic shopper and passionate home cook, he loved watching QVC and the Food Network and took pride in preparing elaborate holiday meals - his spaghetti salad was unmatched, his fridge was never without buttermilk, and he was quick to offer anyone SPAM.

John “Jay” Martin II, age 42, of West Mifflin, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026, in UPMC McKeesport. Born in Pittsburgh on May 27, 1983, he was the son of the late Paula Jean (Schink) Seabol, who died on January 7, 2025, and his stepfather, Robert Seabol of Liberty Boro. He was a 2001 graduate of West Mifflin High School and attended Steel Valley Tech for cooking. He was a cook at Jefferson Hospital and Matty’s Restaurant in West Mifflin and was a chef at Westwood until his M.S. got so bad that he couldn’t work anymore.
Jay is the father of Jaida Krista of Homestead and the grandfather of Gia Burton. Besides his stepfather, he is survived by his grandparents Gary “Pap” and Joan “Bub” (August) Schink of West Mifflin; brother Jacen Wargo of Munhall; his uncle Jeff (Linda) Schink of Dravosburg; and his cousin Brendan (Emma) Schink of Munhall.

Sandy (Everley) Crovak, age 73, of Forward Twp., passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at Jefferson Hospital. She loved her family and grandchildren more than anything, but also enjoyed cooking, baking and going to the beach. Dr. John F. Lundie, a former longtime GARDEN CITY resident, passed away on February 6, 2026, after a long battle with Parkinson’s. Dr. Lundie was born on December 15, 1941, to John F. Lundie Sr. and the former Agatha Cleary, in McKeesport PA, and after graduating from McKeesport High School, he matriculated in pre-med studies at Hofstra University, where he was a scholarship student, varsity football and lacrosse athlete, and a member of Crown and Lance fraternity, graduating in 1964. He entered medical school at SUNY Downstate in the autumn of that year and graduated in 1968 followed by an internship and residency program with SUNY Downstate.
In 1970 he volunteered for service in the US Army and after basic training in TEXAS he served as an active-duty medical officer in SOUTH VIETNAM followed by a year at Fort Benjamin Harrison in INDIANAPOLIS, and returned to a surgery residency program at SUNY Downstate in 1972 that included assisting Dr. Sam Kuntz in kidney transplant surgery and Dr. Paul Strong in tumors of the head and neck at Sloan Kettering after discharge from the US Army with the rank of Major in 1972.
In 1976 he opened what would become an active office surgical practice, first in GARDEN CITY and later for many years in MINEOLA where he was a staff member at Winthrop Hospital, now NYU Langone Winthrop, Mercy Medical Center, where he was Chief of Surgery and Director of Medical Education for many years, and Franklin Hospital, now Northwell Health Long Island Jewish Valley Stream, where he also served as Chief of Surgery. He held a membership as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons until his retirement in 2015.
