Gertrude "Trudy" Bacon, age 93 of McKeesport, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Jupiter Rehab and Nursing Center.  Born July 31, 1927 in Duquesne, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Grego) Dobransky.  Trudy was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish (Corpus Christi Church) in McKeesport, a member of the CFU Lodge #146 of Versailles and its Pennsembles, Ladies, and Pensioneers Clubs, a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, and the Mon Yough Friendship Club.  She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Bacon, Sr.  who passed away on February 19, 1998. She is survived by her son Peter (Karen) Bacon, Jr. of Jupiter, FL, brother Edward Dobransky of Orlando, FL, sister Dolores Stiver of West Mifflin, and also nieces and nephews.

Daniel M. DiMucci, Jr.

Daniel M. DiMucci, Jr., age 90 of McKeesport, passed away in his daughters home in Alabama.  Born August 17, 1930 in Hostetter, PA, he was a son of the late Donato and Ida (DiSciascio) DiMucci.  A 1952 graduate of Clemson University, where he earned All-ACC honors as a guard on the Tigers football team, Daniel retired as a retired history teacher and football coach for the Plum School District.  He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish (St. Patrick's Church), a lifelong member of the Italian Sons and Daughters, and a founder of the "Duke and Ding" Scholarship Fund at McKeesport High School.  He was also active in organizing Christy Park Reunions and caring for the Christy Park Veterans' Memorial.  Daniel is survived by his wife of 62 years Virginia (Rohac) DiMucci; his children Nancy (Frank) Roig of Anniston, AL and Daniel (Paula) DiMucci, III of Port Vue; his grandchildren Natalie McKnight, Tori Argus, Bridgette Jepson, and Donato DiMucci; his great-granddaughter Lucy McKnight; his sister Gloria Tackas of Port Vue; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his siblings Connie DiBatista, Rose Begandy, and Joe and Dom DiMucci.

James C. Shumaker

James C. Shumaker, age 78 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born January 2, 1942 in South Park, he was a son of the late Ira and Rita (Collins) Shumaker.  As a young man, James earned a football scholarship to VMI and earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, then served 15 years in the US Marine Corps doing four tours of duty in Vietnam and attaining the rank of Captain until he was injured in duty.  After returning to the United States, James took a job as a supervising plant manager for Fleetwood in Riverside, CA, handling Fleetwood's plants in fifteen states and Canada.  Upon returning to this area, he served as a supervising manager for Greenman Peterson Construction and retired from Johnson Mirmiran & Thompson where he supervised infrastructure projects such as bridges in the area and Routes 43 and 376.  James also was a self employed home inspector.  He is survived by his wife of 27 years Carolyn (Cerqua) Shumaker, his daughters Kelli Hill of Cayucos, CA and Kristen (Michael) Nehus of Wylie, TX, his granddaughter Hannah Hill of San Diego, CA, his brothers Ira and William Shumaker, and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his son James C. Shumaker, Jr. and sister Patricia Shumaker Kling.

Sally Jane Graham, age 81, of Rostraver Twp., died at home on Monday, August 10, 2020. She was a beloved aunt, caring friend and born-again Christian. She was a substitute teacher in the West Jefferson Hills School District for many years and a lifelong member of the Crossroads Community Church (Beulah Baptist) of Jefferson Hills. Born May 19, 1939 in McKeesport,  she was a daughter of the late Edward Walter and Hazel (Lloyd) Graham. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Irma (David) Graham; nieces, Susan (Richard) White and Marilyn (Neil) Morton; niece-in-law, Elizabeth (Mark S.) Graham; nephews, Larry (Beverly) Graham and Alexander Keith Graham; five great-nephews; and great great-nieces and nephews. Mary Ann Rabickow, age 84 of Clairton, passed away at home on Sunday, August 9, 2020.  Born May 30, 1936 in Atlasburg, she was a daughter of the late Andy and Mary B. (Pachucka) Rabickow.  After moving to Clairton in 1950, Mary Ann was member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish (St. Clare of Assisi Church), worked as a bookkeeper for the former Busy Beaver in Clairton, retired as a secretary from Clairton City Hall in 1998, and, after her retirement, worked part time for Three Rivers Bank in Large and the Clairton City FCU.  In her spare time, she loved to bowl, could not wait to go to the casino, and had a green thumb, particularly with her mums and tomatoes.  Mary Ann is survived by her sisters Andrea Shawley of Brentwood and Linda Kutsenkow of Clairton; her sister-in-law Martina Rabickow of Whitehall; her nieces and nephews Christine Wallace, Ricky Rabickow, Michael A. Shawley, Amy and Leslie Kutsenkow,  and Patrick Shawley; three great-nieces; and three great-nephews.  Besides her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her brother Nick Rabickow, her long time companion Andy Gregg, and her nephew Nicky Rabickow.

Diana M. Drobac

Diana M. Drobac, age 84 of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020.  Born March 14, 1936 in Duquesne "below the tracks," she was a daughter of the late Gavrisha and Marija (Boban) Medich.  A 1954 graduate of Duquesne High School, Diana worked as a secretary for Bell Telephone in McKeesport.  She was a member of St. Sava's Serbian Orthodox Church in McKeesport, the former St. Mary's Serbian Orthodox Church in Clairton, and its Serbian Sisters Circle.  Diana was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Clairton and the F.U.D.S. Card Club.  Previously, she was a Kolo dancer with her husband for the former Balkan Dance Group, which performed at The Syria Mosque and Kennywood.  She was also Miss Serbian Day at Kennywood Park in 1958 and, in her spare time, enjoyed harness racing and slots at the Meadows.  Diana is survived by her husband Milan "Jerry" Drobac, Jr.; her children Milana Drobac of Jefferson Hills and Michael (Amanda) Drobac of Yardley; her grandchildren Nicholas Kye, Michaela, and Camila Drobac; numerous nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great-nephews; and many Kumovi.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her four siblings Zvonko, Alex and Gabriel Medich and Yelena Cheke.

Lucot, age 83 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 in Manorcare Health System, Pittsburgh.  Born January 27, 1937 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Edwin Lucot and Mary (Martino) Trich.  A retired sheet metal foreman for the Local #19 in Philadelphia, Eugene is survived by his wife Dolores Marie (Molinaro) Lucot; his son Joseph Lucot-Brochhausen and son in law Donald Brochhausen of East Northport, NY; his brother Edward (the late Maryann) Lucot of Clairton; and also nieces and nephews.  Besides his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his siblings James (Mary) Lucot and Sandra Lucot.

Billy E. Sturkie, age 83 of Versailles, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at UPMC McKeesport. Born January 15, 1937 in Swansea, SC, he was the son of the late Eugene and Lucille Sturkie.  He worked as a union carpenter in Pittsburgh and was a member of the former Versailles Borough Lions Club.  Billy survived by his wife Clare (Kubensky) Sturkie; son Billy Sturkie, Jr. of Versailles; daughters Chris Richards of Versailles, Lorie (Dave) Broadwater of West Mifflin, and Jessica (Jason) Lorenz of Versailles; grandchildren Tim Simko, Amy Shank, Lacey John, Amanda Miller, and Tadem and Tierney Lorenz; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings Bobbie (Royce) Cassidy, John (Ruby) Sturkie, and Rudy Sturkie, all of South Carolina. In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his brother Jimmy Sturkie.

Ellen J. Forrest, age 76, of Morgantown, passed away on Sunday, August 2, 2020 at Locust Grove Personal Care & Memory Care in West Mifflin. She retired as an elementary teacher in the Elizabeth Forward School District. She was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth, where she was former organist and choir member. She was a former member of the Elizabeth Forward Community Chorus and was an avid traveler. Born May 4, 1944 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late James and Ruth (Pierce) Forrest. She is survived by her sister, Hannah (Harry) Lewis of Morgantown, WV; nieces and nephews, Harry (April) Lewis of Bruceton Mills, WV, Kim (Marty) Pataky of Sterling, VA, Jayme Hess of Morgantown, WV and Kristen Hall of Morgantown, WV; also, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Thursday, August 6, 2020 from 2 until the time of service at 4 PM with Pastor Benjamin Schneider officiating. In order to comply with Covid-19 restrictions, attendance will be limited to 25 people at any given time inside the funeral home. Gretchen (Phillips) Benack, age 90 of Jefferson Hills, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, July 30, 2020.  Born January 27, 1930 in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Hilda (Klingelhofer) and Roy Phillips, and the wife of Benny Benack.  She grew up in Clairton, graduated from Clairton High School, and got her B.A. at the University of Pittsburgh.  Gretchen was a homemaker and did administrative work for the family music business. She and her husband designed their A-frame home in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright. She was a lover of books, music, travel, and the arts. She dedicated her life to creating a supportive, nurturing and creative environment for her husband, her children and her grandchildren. Gretchen is survived by her three children -- Suzie (of Schenectady, NY), Ben (“Peek,” of Pittsburgh), and Flip (of Jefferson Hills) – and six grandchildren (Brian Marion, Laura Benack, Jenny Marion, Benny Benack III, Nicole Benack, and Jake Benack).  In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Suzanne Phillips, Charles (Bud) Phillips, and Betty (Phillips) Dudiak.

James R. McCorkle, Jr., age 66 of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, August 1, 2020 in John J. Kane Regional Ctr., McKeesport.  Born February 26, 1954 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late James R. McCorkle, Sr. and Jean (Keffer) McCorkle.  A member of the First United Methodist Church of Clairton, James worked for the former Marraccini's Grocery Store in Clairton and late at the Rite Aid, in Clairton.  In his spare time, he was a coach for many years of Pony League Baseball in Clairton and the statistician for Clairton High School basketball and football games.  James is survived by his children Ashley (Seth) Rowan of Elizabeth Twp. and James R. McCorkle, III of Clairton, his grandchildren Karina and Maddox Rowan, his former wife Michelle McCorkle of Finleyville, his brother Raymond McCorkle of Clairton, and his nephew Raymond McCorkle of Clairton.

Betty Jane (Robinson) Gibson, age 99 of Hurricane, WV, passed away on July 30, 2020 at the Genesis Putnam Center in Hurricane after a long illness.  Born April 1, 1921 in Clairton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Harry S. and Elizabeth (Cochenour) Shawl.  She graduated from Clairton High School in 1939.  She resided in Clairton until 1979 when she moved to Port Charlotte, FL.  She had many jobs during her life, but she most enjoyed her time as a travel agent with Fletcher’s in Brentwood.  She traveled to many areas of the world as a tour host but loved Hawaii the most. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Warren Robinson and her second husband Harry E. Gibson, her son Wayne C. Robinson, as well as two sisters, Hazel Brisky and Jean Wagner. Betty is survived by her son Jim (Sharon) Robinson of Hurricane, WV; her five grandchildren Amy (Tom) Alphin of Kirkland, WA, Laura Robinson of Midlothian, VA, Scott (Sheri) Robinson of Irwin, Tracy (Dennis) Chakey of Irwin, and Kelly (Josh) Robinson of Akron, PA;  nine great grandchildren, daughter-in-law Kim Robinson of Red Lion, PA; a niece and two nephews. Until 10 years ago, when illness required her to be placed in a long-term care facility, she was active in Presbyterian churches in Clairton and Port Charlotte, FL.

Sims, age 60 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 in West Penn Hospital.  Born August 22, 1959 in McKeesport, she is the daughter of Marjorie (Palumbo) Miller of Penn Hills and the late David P. Miller.  A member of St. Michael's Parish in Elizabeth Twp., Anne was an underwriter for the GBU who also worked for Dowling Insurance and Bonno and Grey.  Also, she proudly started and operated Red's Cleaning Service with her daughter.  Besides her mother, Anne is survived by her husband Walter Sims; her daughters Marissa Sims at home and Shannon Sims of Penn Hills; her brothers Chris (Lois) Miller of Elizabeth, Mark Miller of Pleasant Hills, and Paul Miller of Charleroi; and also nieces and nephews.
