Duane Ellsworth Kennedy, age 85, of Rostraver Twp, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital. He was a retired auditor for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with the governor's office and also worked for H&R Block for 15 years. An Army veteran of the Cold War era, he was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp. where he was a Eucharistic minister.

He studied accounting at Robert Morris University and was a graduate of the School of International and Public Affairs at the University of Pittsburgh.

Born June 5, 1935 in Broughton, he was a son of the late George and Alma (Englert) Kennedy and husband of the late Louise (Bartrug) Kennedy.

Sondra (Tuttle) Fine, age 80, of Forward Twp., passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital. She retired as an instruction aide at William Penn Elementary School in the Elizabeth Forward School District. She was a member of Pine Run United Methodist Church in Wilson and a member of the Clairton Veterans Club.

Born October 25, 1940 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Emma (Hindman) Tuttle and wife of the late Robert L. "Bobby" Fine. She is survived by children, Roberta "Bobbi" (John) Cheplic of Forward Twp., Daniel "Dan" (Debbie) Fine of New Eagle and Terry (Linda) Fine of North Huntingdon; grandchildren, Ryan Fine, Nicole (Collin) Fine Maxwell, Freddy Whetsell, Toni Whetsell and Jack Whetsell; sisters, Jackie Kerr of Clairton and Donna Buzalka of New Eagle; also, nieces and nephews.

Donald H. Barker, age 87 of McKeesport, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in UPMC Presbyterian.  Born March 6, 1933 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late Cecil and Annie (Craighead) Barker.  A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, Donald was a laborer in Local Union # 373 and a member of the former Elizabeth Wesleyan Church.  He is survived by his son Donald Barker of Wilmerding, granddaughter Christa Barker of Glassport, his great-grandchildren Karissa and Ryan, his nephew Victor (Christine) Bazzone of Elizabeth, and many great-nieces-and-nephews.  Besides his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his siblings Patricia Bazzone and Calvin and Leonard Barker, and his nephew Thomas Bazzone.

Gindlesberger, age 90 of Elizabeth and formerly of Pleasant Hills, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in Riverside Nursing Center in McKeesport.  Born November 29, 1930 in Avella, she was a daughter of the late John and Celia (Delfus) Royal.  While residing in Pleasant Hills, Doris was a member of Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon.  Upon moving to Elizabeth she joined Round Hill Presbyterian Church and was member of the Seasoned Saints Sunday School Class and attended worship regularly.  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Merle Gindlesberger, her son Chip (Patti) Gindlesberger, her identical and "mirror" twin sister Dorothy Hudak, and her sister Emma Jean Seewock. Doris is survived by her children Gayle (Dennis) Larcinese of Elizabeth, Dave (Torrie) Gindlesberger of Florida, and Doreen (Len) Kendo of Elizabeth; her ten grandchildren and three step-grandchildren (to whom she was GramGram); her ten great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren; and also nieces and nephews.

Born March 15, 1927 in Martins Ferry, OH, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Sarah M. Snyder.  Anna Mae will be remembered as a kind- hearted and extremely loving person who was active in her church and community.  She could often be seen, even in her later years, dancing the night away.

Edith Louise (Bartrug) Kennedy, age 75, of Rostraver Twp., passed away on Friday, December 11, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital. She was a retired nursing assistant at Lawson Nursing Home in Jefferson Hills and a former employee of Sony.

She was a member St. Michael's Parish in Elizabeth Twp. and a former member of the Central Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.

Born June 5, 1945 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Hugh Bartrug and Edith (Connors) Shaler and wife of the late Duane Ellsworth Kennedy. She is survived by sons, Eugene Pritchard of Rostraver Twp. and James Pritchard of Rostraver Twp.; grandson, John Pritchard of Dravosburg; brother, Arthur Bartrug of Carnegie; sisters-in-law, Joyce Bartrug and Brenda Bartrug; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Hugh and Don Bartrug. There will be no viewing. Private family burial will take place at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Twp. She was president of the American Baptist Missionary Women, member of the Jolly Seniors, and the Central Highlands Gospel Singers for 15 years.

Born November 15, 1942 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late John J. Gogoel Sr. and the late Anna (Faer) Gogoel. He is survived by his sisters, Elizabeth G. (the late Thomas) Beeler of Elizabeth Twp. and Gloria M. (Ed) Duval of Liberty Borough; nieces and nephews, Tom, Ron and Chris Beeler, Elaine Taylor, Cathy Berkley, Amy Yurkovich, Eddie Duval, Keith Duval and Dana DeCecco; 16 great-nieces and nephews; two great-great nieces and nephews; also, numerous cousins. She was a member of the Goldwing Club Chapter E in Belle Vernon, the Elizabeth Twp. and Clairton Lions Clubs, and the senior centers in Olympia Shopping Center and West Newton. Born September 15, 1944 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Edith (Krah) Hathaway.

John Vincent Paoletti, age 78 of Elizabeth Township passed away on Monday, November 30, 2020 in Jefferson Hospital. John “Poe” was born on July 14, 1942 in McKeesport Hospital and grew up in the Wilson area of Clairton. He was the son of the late Leon and Theresa (Azzari) Paoletti. John was a graduate of Clairton High School “Class of 1960”, where he proudly led the Clairton Bears as their standout quarterback. His talents were not limited to the football field, as he also lettered in two additional sports. He went on to attend Dayton University where he continued playing football. After college, John married the “love of his life” Linda. They went on to share a beautiful life together, celebrating 50 years of marriage, and were blessed with three loving daughters and four grandsons whom they adored. John had a long career as a foreman at US Steel-Clairton Works, where he was well liked and respected. John retired after more than 30 years of service. He then began his 2nd career and true calling as #1 grandfather “Pap Pap”.

Maria (Mozzi) Conedera, age 94 of Clairton, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2020 in the company of the caregivers at Harmon House, Mt. Pleasant, who loved her dearly.  Born April 12, 1926 in Borgonovo Val Tidone, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Primo and Giuseppina Mozzi.  Maria moved to the United States in 1950 to be with her beloved husband, the late Riccardo Conedera, who passed away November 13, 2000.  She was a proficient seamstress, retiring from J.C. Penney's, and was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church and the Italian Sons and Daughters of America.  Maria was an avid gardener, and her cooking was legendary.  When you visited Maria, you were always welcomed and blessed with a meal fit for a king.  She was loved by everyone that crossed her path and will be deeply missed.

Born March 29, 1943 in Avella, he was a son of the late Frank D. and Josephine (Salen) Restagno. He worked for his family's grocery store, Restagno Market and  owned game rooms in Clairton. Richard also worked for South Hills Disposal, Allstar Cadillac, and Arnoni Development. He was a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross (Holy Spirit Catholic Church) and a 46 year member of the Elks.
