Shirley A. “Shirlee” Kalstone, age 88, of New York, New York, formerly of McKeesport, died Thursday, May 21, 2020.  She was born in Pittsburgh on September 2, 1931.  She is the daughter of the late James Comoroda and Irene (Russell) Coneby and the wife of the late Lawrence M. Kalstone who died on October 4, 2017.

Millie Montrenes Palian Ghanem, age 85, of White Oak, died on Saturday, May 23, 2020. She was born in McKeesport on May 26, 1934 and is the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Czap Montrenes. She was a beautician and owned her own business and was a cashier at the Acme Department store prior to receiving her master’s degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh. She retired as a registered nurse. She had been a world traveler, residing in Saudi Arabia, where she was a liaison for the School of the Handicapped.

Jacob A. Plake, 57, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of West Mifflin, PA died Monday, May 18, 2020.  He was born on December 26, 1962 in West Mifflin and was a former member and a dependable altar server at Holy Trinity Church in West Mifflin.  He attended Duquesne Catholic Grade School, West Mifflin High School and the Pennsylvania State University.  He received a B.S. in Accounting and worked as an accountant his entire business career.

Sheldon Dorian, age 87, of North Versailles, died on Saturday, May 16, 2020.  He was born in Johnstown on May 8, 1933 and is the son of the late Leo and Ida Colaugh Dorian. He worked in maintenance for an apartment building in Pittsburgh for many years and prior to that worked maintaining the equipment at Jenny Lee Bakery in McKees Rock.

Marian Lynch, age 92, of Strasburg, PA, formerly of Coulters, PA, died Friday, May 15, 2020. She was born in McKeesport on February 15, 1928 and is the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice Spangler Eichler. She was the wife of the late Donald B. Lynch, who died December 18, 2014. She worked as a seamstress for most of her life. She was a member of the McKeesport Garden Club, McKeesport Heritage Club, and was an avid reader.

Michael L. Kerston, age 71, of White Oak, died Tuesday, April 21, 2020. He was born in McKeesport on May 1, 1948 and is the son of the late Andrew and Marie Candelore Kerston Soriano.  Mike was an Army veteran serving during the Vietnam Era.  He was employed as a machinist for U.S. Steel in McKeesport and after retiring, worked part-time at Butler’s Golf Course. He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, the White Oak Legion Post 701 and also the VFW Post 781 in Irwin where he was a member of the pool league.  He was an avid golfer, but also enjoyed all sports.

Michelle Rene Ellig Clayton, age 53, of Trafford, passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 at home surrounded by family.  She was born in Greensburg on October 21, 1966 and is the daughter of MaryAnn Senkowski Ellig of Trafford and the late Larry Ellig of Jeannette.

She has been employed at Macy’s Department store in Monroeville for the past 34 years, most recently in the fine handbags department.  She enjoyed handmade crafts, gardening and antiques.
