Kevin J. Hopkins, 67 of Glassport, died suddenly on May 21, 2025. He is the husband of the late Cheryl (Marcus) Hopkins. He is the son of the late John "Jack" and Corrine (Tomedolsky) Hopkins.  He is survived by his sons Jonathan (Akiko Aoki) Hopkins, Jeffrey Hopkins, Jarred Hopkins; daughter Kimberly Hopkins and brother Martin Hopkins.  Kevin retired from US Steel as a Crane Operator at Irvin Works, owned Hopkins Excavating & Concrete, and handled facilities maintenance at St. Joachim & Anne Parish where he was also a member. He attended the Croatian club for weekly Bingo, his day ran on Dunkin and daily car washes. He was a jack-of-all-trades, always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need and couldn't sit still for a moment. Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sun. From 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral mass will be held Tues., May 27, 2025, 10:00 am at St. Eugene Church.  Entombment following Lebanon Church Cemetery.

Pamela R. Smolnicky, 78, of Glassport, died May 20, 2025.  She is the daughter of the late Claude and Virginia Mello.  She is survived by her sisters Sandy (William) Sitko and Claudia Kelly; niece Sandy Main, with whom she resided; great nephew Woodrow (Casey Smith) Main; also nieces, nephews and a great great nephew.  Pamela was the owner/operator of the former White Oak Bowl.  Funeral arrangements by the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport.

John T. Jarmon, III, 70, of Glassport died peacefully surrounded by his family on April 28, 2025.  He is the son of the late John and Rose (Sterner) Jarmon and husband of the late Susan (Synkowski) Jarmon.  He is survived by his daughter Val (Bruce) Lewis; son Michael (Amber) Jarmon; grandson Allan Lewis; siblings Peggy (Frank) Tekavec, Liz Booth, Cathy (the late Jack) Ormond, Joseph Jarmon, Kenneth (Kim) Jarmon, George (fiance Jackie) Jarmon and Tracey (Jim) Noble; brother-in-law, Jack Deutsch; also numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by sisters Jackie Deutsch and Rose Marie Jarmon and brother Arthur Jarmon. Martina C. Rabickow, 86, of Glassport, passed away on April 19th, 2025. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Krivonak) Ksiazek and beloved wife of 59 years to the late Nicholas J. Rabickow. She is survived by her loving children Christine (Rabickow) Wallace and Richard Rabickow, brother Michael Ksiazek (Linda), sisters-in-law Debby (Evanovich) Ksiazek, Linda (Rabickow) Kutsenkow, and Andrea (Rabickow) Shawley. Martina is also survived by her loving grandchildren Jill Rabickow and Corey Wallace as well as many nieces, nephews, great nieces, cousins, and her life-long friend Patty Chiaverini.

Martina was preceded in death by her beloved son “Nicky” Rabickow, sisters Nancy Ksiazek, Janet (Ksiazek) Cunningham, and Frani (Ksiazek) Weaver, brother Ken Ksiazek, nephew Cory Cunningham, and brother-in-law Charles Weaver.

Martina was both a Secretary and a Dental Hygienist, and more importantly a loving homemaker. Martina was a wonderful cook, especially her famous cream puffs, Texas sheet cake and homemade pierogis. She loved watching her sons’ baseball games and daughter’s softball games, enjoyed spending time in the garden, and playing Bingo with her friends.

Friends and family will be held at Wojciechowski Funeral Home in Glassport, PA on Thursday April 24th from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm, with a blessing being held at 7:30pm with Fr. Ed Wichman. Her burial will be held privately at a later date.

Frances C. Weaver, 72, of Scott Township, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025. Born July 12th, 1952, in Glassport, PA, Fran was the youngest daughter of the late Frank and Helen (Krivonak) Ksiazek. She is survived by her two sons Ken (Andrea) and Christian Weaver; grandsons Jack and James; sister Martina Rabickow; brother Michael (Linda) Ksiazek; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 43 years Charles E. “Chuck” Weaver; sisters Janet and Nancy Ksiazek; and brother Ken Ksiazek. Fran was kind. She was loving. She carried a welcoming disposition, inviting conversation with everyone she encountered. Her delightful sense of humor catered to all. She was strong as well. A resolute independent spirit known for taking on life’s challenges with fierce determination and unwavering Faith. A graduate of South Allegheny High School, she took pride in working multiple jobs throughout her youth and early adulthood. She reflected most fondly on her career and travels with Trans World Airlines in the 70s. She met Chuck while employed at the Hahn Furniture Company. They wed on August 9th, 1980. Fran enjoyed cooking and excelled at it. She mastered all the old-world recipes: Pierogi, Chicken Paprikash, Golabki, and many more. Everything from scratch. Everything from memory. For decades, requests for her recipes received the same coy response, “of course, I have it all right here” with a point to her head. Her baking abilities were legendary. Chocolate pudding cake, cookie sandwiches, and homemade pie were among her trademarks. She briefly operated her own catering business, Heavenly’s, specializing in homemade gift baskets. She sold countless pies out of Bednar’s Farm Market, unable to match the demand. Whenever her sons’ friends visited, she would cut into her inventory and start passing out slices. Enterprise was no match for a generous heart. Caring for others was her specialty. She raised two boys with the deftest balance of doting and discipline. Every need was met. Every mistake made into a lesson. Every accomplishment was celebrated (typically with baked goods). Rarely a day passed without a phone call to her mother, or sisters, or friends. She liked to conclude her talks with a joke or a Bible verse. Usually both. She had a passion for gift-giving. Plants and flowers sent to friends, old photos to family, a handwritten note and some stickers to her grandchildren. Simple tangible expressions of sentiment to always remind her people she cared. Above all else, she loved and supported her husband, Chuck. For so many years, their nurturing sustained each other far beyond what was believed to be possible. Faith in the Lord and dedication to her husband were two unshakable constants. She spoke of Chuck daily and genuinely looked forward to a reunion with him and their Creator in Heaven. There are no formal services planned. Fran was a devoted wife, loving mother, and grandma. She will be missed dearly and remembered always.

Joseph J. Resko, Sr., 76, of Glasssport, died March 14 2025.  He is the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Saire) Resko.  Joe is survived by his son Joe Resko; granddaughters Mikayla and Madison Resko; sisters Carol (the late James) Liebel and Kathy (Ronald) Dolinar; sister-in-law Rosemary Resko; also several nieces.  He was preceded in death by his brother Donald Resko.  Joe served in the US Army and received the Bronze Medal.  Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Wed. from 6 to 8.  A funeral blessing will be held Thurs. 10:00 am in the funeral home.  Interment following Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.

Helen T. Korenoski, 95, of Glassport, died March 9, 2025.  She is the daughter of the late Stephen and Mary Dzurenda and beloved wife of 73 years to the late Willis Korenoski.  She is survived by her daughters Mary Ann Ross, Debbie (Ron) DeMay, Peggy Korenoski and Patty Korenoski; son Bill (Janice) Korenoski; grandchildren Kristin (Steve), Justin (Katie), Danielle (John), Chelsea (Nick), Luke (Lexi), and Lexi (Donald); great grandchildren Elliana, Madison, Brock, Asher and future grandson Lincoln; and sister Ann (the late Donald) Hartman.   She was preceded in death by her brother Steve (Ann) Dzurenda and sister Margie (John) Knapik.  Helen was a a member of St. Joachim & Ann Parish; Sisters of the Divine Redeemer and former member of the Christian Mothers.  Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Wed. From 4-8pm.  A funeral mass will be held Thurs. 10:00 am at St. Michael’s Church.  Interment following Calvary Cemetery.

Linda L. Huziak, 76,of Glassport died March 6, 2025.  She is the daughter of the late John and Ellen (Clement) Huziak.  She  is survived by  her son Chris Huziak; niece April Huziak and nephe Aaron Huziak.  She was preceded in death by her brother John Huziak and sister Patty Huziak.  Linda was a member of the Glassport United Methodist Church, where she taught pre-school for many years.  Linda also worked at Fuzzy's in Glassport for over 20 years.  Friends will be received Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport.  A memorial mass will be held Sat., March 15, 2025 at Queen of the Rosary Church.  Inurnment following at St. Mary's Polish Cemetery.

Retired from the U.S. Navy with 20 years of service, he served on Glassport Borough Council, member of Port Vue United Methodist Church, Glassport Senior Center and Glassport American Legion Post 443. He retired from US Steel Irvin Works.

Ronald Paul Wawrzeniak, 71, of Glassport, Pennsylvania, passed away on January 31, 2025. Born on June 30, 1953, at McKeesport Hospital, Ron grew up in Glassport, where he built a life filled with music, sports, and a deep love for family.  Ron was predeceased by his parents, Ted and Helen Wawrzeniak. He is survived by his twin brother, Rick Wawrzeniak of Glassport, PA; brother, Bernie Wawrzeniak of Alexandria, VA; sister, Judy Ann Wawrzeniak of Sacramento, CA; nieces, Amanda Napiecek of Wexford, PA and Natalie Wawrzeniak of Winter Garden, FL; nephew, Andrew Wawrzeniak of Mt. Dora, FL; grandniece, Cecilia Napiecek; and grandnephew, Vincent Napiecek.  In his early years, Ron shared his musical talents as the lead accordion player in a band with his brothers, The Brothers Three. He was also a gifted athlete, excelling as a pitcher in Glassport’s Little League and Pony League. A proud graduate of Serra High School, Class of 1971, he carried his love of baseball throughout his life. Family legend even suggests he was once scouted by the Phillies. Whether playing golf, fishing, or cheering for his beloved Pittsburgh Pirates, Ron had a passion for sports—especially rooting for the underdog.  Despite facing health challenges, Ron remained resilient, kind, and endlessly curious. His love for family and the cherished memories of his early years sustained him, along with his deep faith. Though he never traveled far from home, he took great interest in the world beyond, especially the excitement of baseball’s spring training in Florida.  Ron will be remembered for his warm heart, unwavering love for his family, and the gentle kindness he extended to those around him. His family deeply appreciates the dedication of the nurses and medical professionals who cared for him over the years.  A memorial service will be held at a future time. Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sunday from 1 to3.  May he rest in peace, forever loved and remembered.
