Harry J. Colbert, age 76 of Irwin, passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Allegheny General Hospital.  He was born on February 5, 1948 in Braddock, a son of the late Earl and Anna Mary Colbert.  In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by his brother, Nicky Colbert.  He is survived by his twin brother, Earl Colbert, sister, Linda Novak (Ed), and numerous neices and nephews.  Harry always brought a smile to the faces of those around him.  He loved to work on arts and crafts, and was very proud of the items that he created.  After finishing his daily projects, Harry looked forward to sipping a hot cup of coffee while listening to the radio.  He was always excited to tell his friends and family about his favorite wrist-watch.  Harry will be missed by all who knew him. Joseph Raymond Stankay, age 92, of Forest Hills, formerly of Braddock Hills, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, in Juniper Village. Born in Braddock, PA on May 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Joseph Andrew and Susan Sophia (Ulias) Stankay. He was a retired pipe fitter from the LTV Corporation and a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Sacred Heart Church. He ws a former member of the former St. Michael Church and Good Shepherd Church in Braddock. He proudly served his country in the Navy during the Korean War. 

 He is the brother of Vincent (Josephine) Stankay of West Palm Beach, FL. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters, Elmer (late Agnes) Stankay, Albert (late Olga) Stankay, Andrew B. (late Irene) Stankay, Florence (late Edward J.) Holas, and Martha (late Frank) Lipowcan. He is also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews.

 Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300, WILLIAM B. Stanley C. Yarulis, Sr., age 98, of Monongahela, and formerly of Forward Township and Clairton, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at The Residence at Hilltop, Monongahela. Born January 31, 1926, in Monongahela, he was a son of the late Anthony and Kazimeria (Bagavich) Yarulis. He was a US Army veteran serving during WWII where he fought in Burma. He was also one of the founding members of the 475th Infantry Merrill's Marauders BAR Gunner. He was a retired machinist for Corning Inc. in Charleroi and US Steel Clairton Works. He was a former member of the Old Timers Golf League at Butlers Golf Course, a former councilman for the City of Clairton, a member of the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post 75, and the VFW.

Michael P. McGrail, 61 of North Huntingdon died May 20, 2024 at Corner view Nursing and Rehab in Pittsburgh. He was born June 25, 1962 in McKeesport, a son of the late Michael P. Sr. and Audrey Labosky McGrail. Michael was formerly employed by Stone & Company where he drove a cement truck. He graduated from Greensburg Central Catholic in 1980, was a member of Circleville Volunteer Fire Department, an avid Penguins and Steeler fan, enjoyed building, and racing RC cars. He will be reunited with his love and wife, Rosemary who died in 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Allison of North Huntingdon, two brothers, Mark McGrail and wife Jeri, Eric McGrail and wife Jackie, 2 nieces, Serena and Katherine, one nephew Devin. There will be no public visitation. A celebration of life will be held on June 23, 2024 at Oak Hollow Park Hickory Pavilion from 1-4 P.M. James W.   Roger E. Silverman, 74, of McKeesport, passed away May 20, 2024 at Mercy Hospital, surrounded by family. He was born on February 12, 1950 and is the son of the late Edward and Eileen (Evans) Silverman and beloved husband of Cindy Bryce. He is survived by his children Roger Bryce, Stacey Bryce and Angela (Karissa Bryant) Bryce; grandchildren Kristofor "Boo-Boo", Belinda "Nana", Alyssa, Michael, Samantha, Roger, Joshua, Gage, Bethany, Kaine, and Kai’leigh; siblings Lucinda "Sissy" (Donald) Kovack, Debbie Sorg, Paulette Silverman, Carolyn Jean Silverman, Ralph Silverman, Kenneth Silverman, Patrick Silverman, Pamela Silverman and Robby Silverman; also many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Kristofor Bryce and brother Terry Silverman. Roger served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he received multiple medals and awards, most notably The Purple Heart and The Bronze Star Medal. Family and friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Friday, May 24, 2024 from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. and 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m, and on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from Noon to 1:00p.m. Interment following at McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport.

Carl O. Dickson Jr., 90, of East McKeesport, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024. He was born July 25, 1933 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Carl O. and Margaret (Weber) Dickson and was also preceded in death by his sister Janet D. Noel and brother in-law Wilbur “Bo” Swanhart. Carl was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Versailles, and was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War. He received a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and taught at Church Hill Area School District prior to his retirement. He was a member of VFW Post 5008, East Pittsburgh, and was a member of White Oak American Legion 701.

Pamela Ann King (Miller) of Baldwin (formerly Pleasant Hills) passed away on May 18, 2024 at AHN Jefferson Regional Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was born  March 28th, 1961 in Washington, Pennsylvania to Lois M. (Lennix) Miller and the late Frank C. Miller. She graduated from Upper St. Clair High School in 1979. She graduated from Gannon University with an associates degree in medical assistance, before starting a family.  Her daughters and grandchildren meant the world to her. She loved spending time with them creating memories. She also loved sitting outside in the sun, country music, traveling, gardening, crafting, and of course Snoopy.  She dedicated 35 years of service to Giant Eagle, where she created numerous lifelong friendships that became more like family. She leaves behind her three daughters, Amanda Nicole Ishman (Daniel), Ashley Mae Morgan (Matt), and Amy Lynn King. She also leaves behind her five grandchildren, Kyleigh Grace Morgan, Chandler James King, Kinsley Faith Morgan, Allison Hope Morgan, and soon to be Baby Girl Ishman.

Rev. John David Else

The Rev. John David Else, known affectionately to friends and family as David, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2024, at the age of 91, in Pittsburgh. Born on March 4, 1933, in Mt. Lebanon, David's early years were marked by a spirited zest for life and a deep sense of purpose which would define his many years.

A proud graduate of Penn State, David's quest for knowledge and his desire to serve others led him to attend seminary at Nashotah House for two years, where he cultivated his vocation to help and guide others. His faith-filled life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his spiritual calling. His first church was at St. George in Waynesburg followed by several years at St. Thomas in Canonsburg. David also served in various roles at the Church of the Advent, Jeannette; St. John's, Donora; Trinity Cathedral; and St. Stephen's, McKeesport.

After his time in the ministry, David felt called to a different path, one that would allow him to support those struggling with addiction.

In his most notable professional achievement, David founded the Center for Spirituality in 12 Step Recovery, a beacon of hope for countless individuals seeking guidance and support through a 12-step program. His vision for the Center was rooted in compassion, understanding, and the unwavering belief that every person deserves a chance at redemption and a fulfilling life. He was on the opening staff and a therapist at Gateway Rehabilitation Center, and Mon Yough Rehabilitation in McKeesport, helping both of these programs get started in the early 1970's.

Clark, age 27, residing in Beaver Falls and formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024 at Forbes Hospital.  He was born on August 3, 1996 in Monroeville, the beloved son of Lance (Candace) Clark and Jacinta Beltz (Jay).  Darien was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 2014.  He loved motorcycles, weight lifting, sports, and spending time with his friends.  He was employed by Burnham Industrial as a Journeyman Insulator for Local 2. In addition to his parents, Darien is survived by his daughter, Ryder, girlfriend Katie Sero, three sisters, Dymphena Clark, Dreena Clark, and Dacee Clark, grandparents Michalene Chara (Dave), Karen Clark, Mark Bungo (Katie), and Mary Ellen Beltz,  great-grandma Jeanne Pettus, and his beloved corgi, Beenee.  Friends will be received at the James W. James Gerald “Jim” Racan, 81, of Glassport, formerly of Elizabeth and Duquesne passed away on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Jefferson Hospital. He was born in McKeesport on November 1, 1942, to the late Joseph and Pearl Crosser Racan. James was the loving husband of 47 years the late Marsha Hunt Racan. He is survived by his daughter April (Bart Elder) Racan of Glassport, son Jimmy Racan of West Mifflin, brothers Joseph Racan of North Huntingdon and Richard (Barbara) Racan of Philadelphia, sisters Carol (Michael) Straniello of Orlando Florida, Linda (James) Reynolds of Irwin, grandchildren, Cayle Racan, Elijah Racan, and Jimmy, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, and his beloved “BFF” dog Bella. James was preceded in death by sister Shirley Molnar, daughter-in-law Candy Racan, and sister-in-law Deborah Racan. James served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed for 23 years at U.S. Steel in Homestead, and Matthews Bus Service and Port Authority for 20 years as well as S and S transit. He enjoyed playing guitar for various groups in the area, loved dancing to Doo-Wop, was a Pittsburgh Pirates fan, enjoyed going to Myrtle Beach, and loved dogs. Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, May, 28th, 2024 from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm, at E.C. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 235 Monongahela Ave, Glassport, PA 15045. He was born August 6, 1956 in Braddock and was the son of the late Salvatore and Leona Catherine (Kropczynski) Trovato. He was the husband of the late Michele Marie (Chiaverini) Trovato who passed away June 26, 2017. Dan was a Licensed Master Plumber and was retired from US Steel Irvin Works. He had previously worked for Union Switch and Signal, Pozzuto Plumbing, Roto Rooter, General Motors, CAPCO, and Sand Castle. He enjoyed home improvement projects, gardening and lawn care, the Steelers, Pink Floyd, The Beatles, outdoor concerts, watching fireworks on the 4th of July from his driveway and making traditional Italian Pizzelle waffel cookies for everyone to enjoy. He was a 1974 graduate of Norwin High School and was a member of the Palanese League of America in Christy Park.
