MacLean, 80, of West Mifflin died April 24, 2019.  She is the daughter of the late Edwin and Kathryn Casaldi.  She is survived by her daughters Catherine (Jeff) Colvin and Denise (Harold) Record; sons John (Krista) MacLean and Nicholas (Janell) Yukich; sisters Saundra (Ed) Gueth, Nancy (Charlie) Bisel and Carolyn (Bob) Algeri; brother Edwin Casaldi; also grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her son Roderick "Ricky" MacLean, Jr.  Beverly was retired from Kane Hospital as a CNA and was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish.  Friends will be received at the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne, Fri. May 3rd from 2-4 and 6-8.  A funeral blessing will be held Sat. May 4th at 11:00am with Father Tom Lewandowski.  Interment following Madison Union Cemetery.

Armani was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church. A 2013 Graduate of Clairton High School, where he was member and Quarterback of the Clairton Bears Football Teams and led them to a 2013 WPIAL Championship.  Armani went on to further his education at Bluefield College in West Virginia and played as the Rams Quarterback.  After an injury, he continued his education at Youngstown State University and went on to be employed by the KBRB Cleaning Company in Columbus, OH.

Joseph Gdovic, 91, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania died Saturday, April 20, 2019. He was born in Port Vue, Pennsylvania on January 19, 1928. He is the son of the late Michael and Anna (Koval) Gdovic. He is preceded in death (2002) by his wife Angelina “Angie” (Chiodo) Gdovic. They were married June 11, 1955 in McKeesport, Pennsylvania. The family also resided for a period of time at their vacation home in Plantation, Florida. He is survived by daughters, Joanne Zettl of Chagrin Falls, Ohio; Suzanne Gdovic (James Pokorny) of Arvada, Colorado; Dianne (Phillip) Modenos of Lake Worth, Florida and son Michael Gdovic of Boca Raton, Florida. Also, grandchildren, Dianne Zettl of Columbus, Ohio; Kristen Pokorny and Sean Pokorny of Arvada, Colorado and Joseph Modenos of Lake Worth, Florida; his sister Helen (Roy) Epler of McKeesport, Pennsylvania and many nieces, nephews and cousins in the United States and the Czech Republic.

In 1945, at the young age of 17 Joe Gdovic enlisted in the Maritime Service, United States Coast Guard-Merchant Marines and served overseas in Italy & the Mediterranean Region.  Just a year later he entered active service with the United States Army, he made Private and then Sergeant and served in Japan with the Nugata Military Government Team. Between 1947 and 1951 he served at Fort Lawton, Washington and Fort Lee, Virginia. He was granted an Honorable Discharge as Sergeant and awarded the World War II Victory Medal and Army of Occupational Medal, Japan. He received an Honorable Release from Active Duty as a Corporal. His hobbies during his military service included boxing and baseball. He was also quite skilled at the games of pool and cards.  He was a 47-year member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, USA.

Robert Karl Hatcher, age 94, of White Oak, died April 28, 2019.  He was born in McKeesport on July 23, 1924 and is the son of the late William P. and Clara A. Helfer Hatcher and the husband of the late Virginia Naomi Strawderman Hatcher.  He was a proud vet of the US Navy during WWII where he served in the South Pacific aboard the USS Trathen DD530.  He was a member of the White Oak American Legion Post #701 and VFW Post 8430 Hilltoppers where he enjoyed many Straub Beers with his friends.  He enjoyed flea markets, collecting cans for spare change and bowling.  He loved sharing stories about his military service and the CCC Camps in Idaho.  The family would like to thank his very good friends who helped out over the years, especially Joe, Darlene, Danny, and Daren. Robert was employed at US Steel National Tube in McKeesport until he retired. His favorite saying was, “Life is short, and the wages are small, take it easy, and God bless them all”.

He was a 1955 graduate of McKeesport High School, an Army National Guard Veteran and a member of the former St. Pius Church in McKeesport.  He was retired from the Volkswagen USA plant where he worked in assembly and trim work.  He also owned the former Paisono's Restaurant in McKeesport and former Orlando's Italian Grill in Castle Shannon. In his later years, he would go on to work for LifeSpan where he would deliver meals to the elderly. He loved playing golf and basketball, shooting pool and watching sports, especially horse racing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

He supported the Art Museum, History Museum, Botanical Gardens, Science Center, St. Louis Zoo, Missouri Historical Society, Opera Theater St. Louis, Winter Opera, Metropolitan Opera and the St. Louis Symphony. Loved animals especially his 6 Wheatens and Kitty. He attended Mt. Airy Seminary in Pennsylvania. He loved to travel and made it to 49 out of 50 states. He was a longtime employee of Huntington Alloys part of International Nickel and retired from Special Metals.

He was born July 5, 1938, in Birmingham, Alabama, son of the late Ocie L., Sr. and Eula Mae Rodger Paige.  He was also preceded in death by his wife of over fifty-eight years, Alease Wallace Paige, who passed away on February 3, 2019.

Ocie was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.  He retired from the United States Army and was also employed as the Director of Food Services of the Wilkinsburg School District. As an active participant within his community, he was a member and past president of both the McKeesport School Board and the NAACP.  He also worked as a Manager for Wendy’s Restaurant.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Daphne D. Paige; two grandsons, Ocie L. Paige, III, and Collin Paige all of McKeesport; sister, Bertha Mae Hopson of Detroit, MI and other loving friends and relatives.

(Darlene) Williams of Espyville, Pa., daughter Sheri Williams of Elizabeth, and granddaughter; Jessica Buckery of Elizabeth.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Diana Barca Williams.  Larry was an avid fisherman, he was a member of the Blaine Hill and Elizabeth Fire Department, and the Sportsman Club of Pymatuning Pa.  He also worked for Mesta Machine in Homestead Pa., and Elizabeth Forward School District as a custodian.  The family would like to thank the staff at Jefferson Hospital and all his friends at the fire hall. Mary Ellen Skop, 64, of Clairton, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at UPMC Presbyterian. She received her B.A. in Education from St. Francis College in 1974 and was a teacher at Brightside Academy and the Clairton School District for many wonderful years. She would often encounter former students who always approached her with enthusiasm. An avid member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton, Mary had a very strong relationship with God and often reflected on scripture and its application to life. She loved to read both classics and new aged material, preferring to touch the pages rather than use a Kindle. She was known for her quick wit in conversation and ability to make strangers new-found friends. She was a fierce card player and had an exclusive group that met to play at her house on Sundays. She enjoyed decorating for all holidays and often changed her table arrangement in her dining room to match any occasion.

Blair M. Wojton, 75, of Glassport died Saturday April 20, 2019. He is the son of the late Matthew and Sophie (Ekiert) Wojton. He is survived by his siblings Carol (Richard) Dziki, Fran (Mike) Hoover, Phyllis (Bill) Beaver, Sta Wojton, Matt Wojton, and many nieces and nephews. Blair was a teacher at South Allegheny and St. Michael's, a member of the Glassport Council, Democratic Committee member, Lion's Club, and he also worked for Macy's and Puff's for many years. Friends received Thursday and Friday 2-4 and 6-8 and a celebration of Blair's life will take place Saturday starting at 10am with a Catholic service being held at 11am at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home 640 Vermont Ave, Glassport. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in Blair's name.

Lois grew up in Shafton and was a graduate of Irwin High School. She faithfully worked at Jeannette District Memorial Hospital, retiring in 1996. She was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin. She had great joy in watching her church grow over the years. Lois was a loving mother and grandmother that raised three sons on her own. She valued family and friends, enjoyed meeting the girls for card club, and had a passion for cars owning many different models throughout her life, her favorite was a 1936 Hudson.

Lois grew up on Mt. Washington, always living close to her maternal grandmother, Lillian (Dallmeyer) Miller on Albert Street. She loved spending time with her Aunt Anna and playing stoop ball. After her dear brother “Bill” was killed in action during WWII, Lois and her parents moved to Brookline. She attended South Hills High School and after graduation worked as a secretary at a bank in downtown Pittsburgh until her 1952 marriage to Thomas Drexler of Erie. After a brief time in Erie, Lois and Tom moved back to Brookline where they raised their three children until moving to North Huntingdon in 1975.

Sarah Lane, age 92, of Greensburg, died April 15, 2019.  She was born in Carfin, Scotland on May 14, 1926 and is the daughter of the late Patrick and Catherine Rennie Kelly. She was the wife of the late Frank Drnevich and the late William Lane.  She worked for many years in the cafeteria for McKeesport School District and prior to that, during WWII, she worked at the Christy Park Works in McKeesport.  She was a very dedicated mother who loved vacationing and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed listening to music and attending concerts.

She is survived by her children, Frank (Angela) Drnevich of McKeesport; Rebecca (Joseph) Larson of White Oak; Sheila Piechowicz of Irwin; Thomas (Melissa) Drnevich of North Huntingdon; Timothy (Diane) Drnevich of North Huntingdon; James (Nadine) Lane of Greensburg; Shawn (the late Donald) Lane of Oakdale; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 4 sisters.

The family would like to thank the clergy, sisters, and staff at St. Anne’s Home in Greensburg for their compassionate care.

She and Matthew spent their married life in Wilmerding, and in 2010 she moved to Zephyrhills, Florida where she divided her time amongst her three daughters. (Cory) Brawner of Bethel Park.  Mary also had nine beautiful grandchildren, Jason, Emily (Brian), Bianca, Michael, Kevin, Catherine, Thomas, Sophia, Scarlett and two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Emmett.  Mary enjoyed gardening, music, and spending time with her family.  She received a full Catholic Scholarship resulting in a BS Biology at Duquesne University.  Also known as “Miss Mary” she was the owner and director of Glassport Play and Learn Nursery school and was a former member of St. Cecelia R.C. Church of Glassport and now Corpus Christi of McKeesport.  Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Lena Dacquisto, Helen Sovich, brothers, Dr. E. Joe was involved in coaching many of his son's sports teams and was proudest of founding the Roller Rebels, Roller Hockey Team. He started in South Florida and later brought it to Pittsburgh, recruiting over 500 kids to participate in the sport. Joe had a passion for golf, hockey and basketball. But most importantly, he loved his family with all he had. She loved bowling and bingo and was a member of the University Bowling League for many years. She had attended the south Side School of Nursing before marrying her husband and raising her family.
