Brian Dennis Swietlicki, age 55, of West Mifflin, passed away on Sunday, August 19, 2018. He was born in New Homestead, PA on October 9, 1962, the son of Edward and the late Dolores Pastirik Swietlicki. He was employed by Access Service Transportation for many years as a driver. Brian loved to golf and enjoyed keeping up with the yardwork at home.

Louise H. Weimer, age 87, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Homestead and McKeesport, died Saturday, August 18, 2018. She was born in Pittsburgh on July 7, 1931 and is the daughter of the late Paul and Helen Jacobs Ballog. She was a waitress for many years, a Judge of Elections in McKeesport’s 7th Ward, and a member of Life Span in Olympia Shopping Center.

Edward Ellis, age 91, of West Mifflin, died Wednesday, August 1, 2018. He was born in McKeesport on March 18, 1927 and is the son of the late John and Susan Mular Ellis and the husband of the late Ann Sprentz Ellis. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He retired from USX National Works then worked part time at Giant Eagle by Century III Mall. He was an avid hunter, a member of Holy Spirit Church in West Mifflin, and a former member of the Steelworkers Local Union #1408.

Candice D.J. Volponi, age 37, of Liberty Boro., died on July 10, 2018. She was born on July 18, 1980 in McKeesport, the daughter of Margueritte “Peggy” Deissler Volponi of Liberty Boro. and the late Guy M. Volponi. She worked in Chemistry/Hematology at various UPMC Hospitals in the area including Shadyside, Presbyterian, Montefiore, and Monroeville East. Throughout her high school and college years she loved watching and participating in all sports. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, shooting pool, painting and other arts; she was obsessed with old cars and did counseling at a local rehab center.

She was born July 14, 1921 in McKeesport, the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Volk Schoeller, and wife of the late Alvin G. Karp, who passed away in 2002 after 58 years of marriage.
