John J. Andrejchak, age 82, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away peacefully at home Monday, March 11, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. John was one of four children of John Andrejchak of Slovakia and Mary (Lenart) Andrejchak of West Mifflin. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Richard, of Dravosburg. John was a member of Saints Joachim and Anne Parish in Elizabeth Twp. He was employed his entire life int eh steel and coke industry, first at J&L Steel, then later LTV Steel. John lived a quiet and family-centered life. He was a model Lionel train collector and loved sharing his displays with his grandchildren, Anastasia Andrejchak and Maryn Hilliard, and his great-nephews, Josh and Michael Muehlbauer, and great-niece, Georgia Smith. John enjoyed 1950s music – the oldies – and the years spent at family camp in Slippery Rock. John is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pauline (Naperatz) Andrejchak; son, Scott Andrejchak of Penn Hills and daughter, Lisa Andrejchak of Elizabeth Twp.; sisters, Mary Agnes Sakanich and Audrey Jukubovics; nieces, Melanie Naperatz Muehlbauer and Anita Jakubovics Smith; and nephews, Duane Sakanich, Jim Sakanich, Ricky Andrejchak, Jeff Andrejchak and Joey Naperatz. A special thank you to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, especially Tracey and Tela, and Dr. Richard Toth for their loving care and support. Gerald A. Reese, Jr., age 67 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024 in Jefferson Hospital.  Born February 1, 1957 in Washington, PA, he was a son of the late Gerald A. Reese, Sr. and Bonnie (Leichty) Reese.  Gerald worked as an electronics technician for ManMarc, LLC of North Versailles and more recently with Dollar General.  He will be remembered as a kind, caring, and spiritual man.  In his spare time, he was an avid reader and outdoorsman, who preferred muzzle loaded firearms to do his hunting.  He is survived by his siblings Gayle (David) Thomas of Pittsburgh, Brian (Melissa) Reese of Brownsville, and Eric (Sharon) Reese of Forward Twp.; and also his niece and nephews: Jeffrey, Matthew, Mallory, Shawn, and Evan.  Besides his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his niece April.

Kenneth C. Pennell, age 60, of Lincoln Borough, passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at home. He enjoyed hanging out with family, especially at family gatherings. Wilhelmina E. “Nina” Trappen, age 84, of McKeesport, formerly of Whitehall, passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at The Palms of McKeesport. Born in Bunola, PA, on January 15, 1940, she was the daughter of the late John and Martha (Jenkins) Crocci. She was a retired sales clerk at Kaufmann’s in Pittsburgh with 25 years service. She was of the Catholic Faith, loved to sew, feed the animals, do needlepoint and canning. 

 Nina was the wife of the late Edward G. Trappen Jr.; mother of the late Matthew Trappen; sister of Martha (late John) Lowry of Ohio; and sister-in-law of Barbara (late Jm) Kubes of West Mifflin. She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, Jane (late Albert) Niedermeyer, Gerry (late George) Rusnak, John (late Judy) Crocci, Patricia (late Edward) Gibbons, Josephine Solada, Francis McClellan, Cecelia, Jack McClellan and Gaylord Crocci. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews and her niece and caregiver, Eleanor and Martin Steimer.

Patricia A. Sivak, age 85, of North Versailles, formerly of Port Vue, died peacefully at home on March 13, 2024.  Born October 12, 1938, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Viola (Lineburg) Marcinko and loving wife of 58 years to the late James Sivak.
Her life was marked by a deep faith as a devoted member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Catholic Church, and the former St Stephen Church and St. Joseph Church.  Engaging with her community, Pat was involved in various clubs, including the Port Vue Women's Club, Port Vue Seniors, the McKeesport Hospital Auxiliary, the St. Stephen's Christian Mothers and Rosary groups.  She participated in many card clubs.  Pat enjoyed and had special talents in cooking, baking, gardening, and crafting.  She also was a Pittsburgh Steelers season ticket holder for many years and enjoyed attending games with her family.  In addition to caring for her family, she held a variety of secretarial positions throughout her life, including US Steel, Port Vue Borough, and a local shipping company.

He retired after more than 35 years as an iron worker for Iron Workers Local No. 3 in Pittsburgh and was also an avid farmer. He graduated from California University, where he received a wrestling scholarship. Born February 28, 1950 in New Eagle, he was a son of the late Donald Earl and Anna Marie (Bendel) Taylor. He is survived by his long-time companion, Kathy J. Curry of West Elizabeth; siblings, Christine (Mike) Barber of Salem, OR, Tim (Robin) Taylor of Sorento, FL, Jeff "JD" (Karen) Taylor of Monessen, Duane (Jeanie) Taylor of Eighty-Four and Bill "BJ" (Chrissy) Taylor of Carroll Twp.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Lucy A. Miller, age 72, of Homestead, formerly of Duquesne, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024, in UPMC Mercy. Born in Fairmont, WV, on February 23, 1952, she was the daughter of the late James and Alyce (Wright) Hooper. She was a certified nursing assistant, working in home care and was retired from Eastern Area Adult Services as a caregiver. She loved cooking, listening to music, tailoring and sewing clothes, bingo and spending time with family and friends. 

 Lucy is the mother of Denise (Darin) Jones of Glassport and Jessica Becht of Homestead. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters Gwendolyn Sumlin, Joanne King, Ronald White, John Edward White, Yvonna Daniels and Joyce Jones. 

 A commemoration of her life will be held at a later date. Lucy graciously donated her body to medical science to further education and research.

Louise C. Atkins, age 86, of McKeesport, died March 10, 2024, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport. Born January 6, 1938, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Angie (Sweeney) Conners and the wife of the late Jim Atkins and Louis Floris.  Louise was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, St. Patrick Church, and was also involved in various organizations, including the Moose Lodge, Boston Vets, and the American Legion in White Oak and Dravosburg. Her commitment to service and community was evident in every aspect of her life. She was a school bus driver for 40 years for the McKeesport Area School District, and the students affectionately referred to her as Ms. Louise. In her younger years, Louise found joy in simple pleasures, often enjoying nights out to dine and dance with her husband. Her love for life and her dedication to others will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
