Beverly K. Beirne, age 85 of Virginia Beach, and formerly of McKeesport, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2022. Born May 2, 1937 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late John and Marion (Lang) Beirne. Beverly was an avid traveler and traveled to many countries. She worked as a clerk for the A&P Grocery Store and was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Virginia Beach, VA. She was active in the Sandbridge Community and a former member of Sandbridge rescue squad. She is survived by her nephews, niece, several cousins, many friends and her dog Lucy. Sidney J. Goldberg, 92, of North Versailles died July 30, 2022 at his home. Born in McKeesport, May 8, 1930, son of the late Edward and Eva Goldberg and husband of the late Judith Smith Goldberg, he is survived by his sister in law, Jeanne Lenhart of Delmont, also by nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard M. and Joseph J. Goldberg, brother in law, William J. Smith and sister in law, Janet Adams. He served in the U.S. Army for 17 months in the Far East during the Korean War. His family was in business in McKeesport from 1906 to 1968, when he and his brother moved to North Versailles and operated Goldberg’s Men’s Clothes until Joseph’s death in 1982. Mr. Goldberg operated the Gold Bug news mart until his retirement. He was a member, officer, and board member of the Temple B’nai Israel, and a founder, officer, and board member of M.Y.A.R.C. for 20 years. At his request, a graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the Temple B’nai Israel Cemetery with Rabbi Howard Stein officiating. John J. Capane, age 93 of Clairton, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, July 28, 2022. Born December 15, 1928 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Vincenzo and Felice (Juliot) Capane. A US Army Veteran of the Korean War, John was a retired millwright for US Steel's Clairton Works and a member of Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church, the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75, AARP, and SOAR, all of Clairton. In his spare time, John enjoyed bowling, fishing, going to the casino, and playing the lottery: all while chomping on an ever-present cigar. Most importantly, he was an amazing and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He made it a point to not just be a part of his family's lives and activities, but to be present and supportive no matter who was playing any sport or performing any activity. His family will always picture him there. Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, the late Sara J. (Cortese) Capane, who passed away September 27, 2015, his late son Vincent J. (Linda) Capane, and his brothers Donald, Sam, and Anthony "Moe" Capane. Michael R. Cunningham, age 46, of McKeesport, died July 27, 2022, at home. Born December 14, 1975, in McKeesport, he was the son of Glenn and Laurel (Gossman) Cunningham.
Michael was always a hard worker, sometimes staying overnight at job sites to ensure he was there early and ready to work. He was proud to be a part of Boilermakers Local 154. He was skilled on the guitar and drums and also an avid artist.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Glenn R. Cunningham and Gregory A. Cunningham. Michael is also survived by many other relatives.

Born in Duquesne, January 8, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Semko) Topolyan Sr. Mrs. Stevenson was a homemaker, a lifelong member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Duquesne, of St.Thomas the Apostle Parish, she was a former member of the former Confraternity of Christian Mothers, she loved going to the casino and never missed an episode of Jeopardy. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert S. Stevenson, she is survived by her loving children, Linda (Patrick) Sopher, Lisa A. Stevenson, and Robert J. Stevenson, two grandchildren, Stephen P. Sopher and Heather C. Sopher, a niece and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Stevenson, six brothers, George, Michael, Paul, John, Stephen, and Joseph Topolyan, and a sister, Anna Kopolka.
