Thomas A. Kustra, age 70 of North Huntingdon died August 10, 2022 at Forbes Regional Health Care Center. He was born June 11, 1952 in McKeesport, a son of Albert and the late Barbara Kowalski Kustra. Prior to his retirement, Tom was employed as an electrical engineer for the former Bechtel-Bettis Plant. He graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a masters degree in electrical engineering. He was an active member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed technology, playing horseshoes, and playing with his grandson. He was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Kustra. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife Linda Casey Kustra, a son Jeffrey and his wife Alicia, a daughter Melissa McLaughlin (Ryan), a brother James (Kelley), and grandson Greyson. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Saturday from 3-7 p.m. with a service to follow at 7:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Czestochowa Cemetery, 144 Upper Heckman Rd., White Oak, PA. Myles H. Andrews, age 72, of McKeesport passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022. Born November 16, 1949 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Henry and Helen (Brodzinski) Andrews. Myles attended Lafayette University on a football scholarship and was a member of the Phi Delta Fraternity. He went on to work as a teacher at McKeesport High School for 28 years, and coached football at McKeesport High School for many years. He also owned Myles Andrews Landscaping for 20+ years. Mark J. Cooper, age 70, of Elizabeth Twp., died peacefully in his home on August 8, 2022. Born October 4, 1951, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Donald and Jane (Hamer) Cooper, and is survived by his loving sister, Amy Cooper.

Mark was one of the kindest and wisest people his family and friends had the privilege of knowing. He would also insist “funniest,” but those who knew him would debate that point. Even in casual conversation he exhibited such an enjoyable intelligence that those little chats are what we treasure - want to know about the history of an obscure building in Erie, Pennsylvania? Not only would Mark know the history, his eyes would dance at the opportunity to share that information.

Lucinda Lou "Cindy" Massaro

Lucinda Lou  (Cindy) Massaro age 70 of Glassport Pa died peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer on August 8, 2022.  Lucinda is survived by her husband of 49 years, Anthony Massaro and 2 sons,  Matthew and Anthony ( Aleasha) and granddaughters Baylee and Kambrie, also from Glassport.  She also leaves behind a brother, Lawrence Chottiner (Nancy); a sister Holly Donegan ( John); Sister in law Joann Filson (Duane) and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Caroline Chottiner of North Versailles. Cindy is a graduate of McKeesport Hospital School of Nursing in 1973, where she also began her career as a registered nurse.  She was a devoted wife and mother and was a dedicated caregiver to her son Matthew.  She was a member of the Linway Presbyterian Church.  A celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.  Funeral arrangements by Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport

Joan M. (Skrtic) Teck, of Versailles Borough, has entered eternal rest on August 1, 2022, at McKeesport Hospital. Born June 16, 1946, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Alice (Mains) Skrtic and the wife of Larry V. Teck, Sr. Joan was a caring, loving, and beautiful woman who will be deeply missed. She loved to attend church with her friends, dancing, playing bingo, and being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her husband, survivors include daughters; Ann (Keith) Larko and Lori (Brian) Sanchez and Son; Larry V. Teck, Jr., grandchildren; Larry Sanchez and Lauryn Sanchez, siblings; Nicholas (the late Kathryn) Skrtic, Steve Skrtic, Mary (the late Edwin) Serena and Carol (Michael) Salter, also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Hochhauser Gerendash.  He is survived by his brother, Mitchell (Cindy) Gerendash of White Oak, his sisters, Goldie Janusek of North Versailles and Iris Russ of McKeesport, also by nieces and nephews.  He was a graduate of McKeesport High School.  A service will be held Thursday, August 11, 2022 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Grandview Cemetery, 1301 Lincoln Highway, North Versailles, PA  15137, followed by interment in the family lot.  Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 is in charge of arrangements.

He was the former husband of Debra (David) Budai of Columbus, Ohio; father of James W. (Heather) Budai of Galloway, Ohio; grandfather of Mallory Budai, Evan J. Budai and Jillian M. Mary Anne Burgman, 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2022 at The Grove.  She was born September 21, 1938 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Peter and Mary Jackowski.  Mary Anne was a homemaker and worked as a cashier for Rite Aid.  She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and enjoyed trips to the casinos.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emanuel Burgman, and brothers, Chuck and Peter Jackowski.  She is survived by her children, Daniel Burgman, Donald (Eileen) Burgman, David Burgman, Doris Baker (Randy), Dennis (Cindy) Burgman and Deneen Gable; sister, Eileen (Norman) Heinack; sister-in-law, Fran Jackowski; 17 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday at the James W. William W. Kiraly

William (Bill) W. Kiraly, age 65, of Glassport, Pennsylvania passed away on August 6,
2022.  He is survived by his daughter, Alexandra M. Kiraly of San Diego, California and
his beloved dog, Bandit. Born on February 2, 1957 to the late William A. and Anna
Jean Kiraly. He was preceded in death by his sister, Shelly L. Kiraly.  As an Allegheny
County employee for the past 40 years, first with Shuman Detention Center, then with
the Public Defender’s Office and for the last 22 years as Tipstaff for The Honorable
Kevin G. Sasinoski in the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas. Bill was a
member of the local PNA. His love for opening day of Trout Season took him fishing
down many streams. He was an avid Penn State and Steeler Football fan, as well as
the Pittsburgh Pirates. He will be missed by all of those who worked and knew him.
Friends received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport, on Wednesday,
August 10, 2022 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral blessing will be held Thursday at
10:00 am, internment following at McKeesport-Versailles Cemetery.

 


William A. "Bill" Haley

William A. "Bill" Haley, 94, of North Huntingdon, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Friday August 5, 2022, in Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. Born in Duquesne, June 22, 1928, he was the son of the late Andrej "Andy" and Anna (Artim) Haley. Beloved husband of 68 years to Florence (Petriskie) Haley, he is also survived by a son, Bill (Cyndee) Haley, a daughter Denise (late Jeff Pavlic), A brother Andy (Olive) Haley; three grandchildren, Billy (Charity) Haley, Jenny Haley, and Josh Cooley, six great grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Devon, Isaac, Addy, and Cody; also several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Bobby Haley and three brothers, Tom (late Martha) Haley, Bob Haley, and Jerry Haley. Mr. Haley was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, and a retired brakeman for the Union Railroad Company. Mr. Haley was also an accomplished masonary worker. He was a loving family man who enjoyed bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing and gardening. He also proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII.

Family and friends will be received from 12 noon until a Parastas Service at 3P.M. on Monday, August 8, 2022, in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne with Rev. Will Rupp officiating. Burial will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, West Mifflin.
