Catherine Marie “Kay” Ponsonby age 91, formerly of McKeesport and West Newton, passed away on September 2, 2020 at Kane Community Living Center, Ross Twp.  Born in Duquesne on August 5, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Paul & Jennie (Marino) Guglielmo.  She was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish, Corpus Christi Church, a homemaker, avid reader, an amazing cook and an excellent baker. She was the beloved wife, for 60 years, of the late Craig Ponsonby Sr; mother of Craig (Kathryn Barvinchak) Ponsonby Jr. of Cape Canaveral, FL, Mark Ponsonby of Gibsonia and Felicia (Edward) Czapor of North Huntingdon; grandmother of Shana (John) Mackie, Rebecca Ponsonby, Lindsay (Tony) Kerzmann, Markie (Ken) Jones, Lauren (Kurt) Karcher, Marisa (Chad) Hirsh, and Brian Czapor; great grandmother of Noah, Madison and Logan Mackie, Holden and Juliet Kerzmann, Kennedy Jones and Harper Grace Karcher; sister of Rosemarie Budai of West Newton and the late Tony (wife Nancy survives) Guglielmo of Dravosburg; brother-in-law Paul Ponsonby of Port Vue and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2020, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY-SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 915 KENNEDY AVE., DUQUESNE, 15110, 412-466-3300. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 11 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church, McKeesport, followed by a burial in New St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, visitation will be limited to 25 people in the funeral home at one time and masks must be worn.

Chastity M. Routt, age 27, of Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020. She was born December 28, 1992, in Farmville, VA. She is survived by her daughter, Atlas Valenti of White Oak; mother, Victoria Routt of Elizabeth; sister, Kelsey Routt of Jefferson Hills; niece, Cali Dooley of Elizabeth; maternal grandmother, Vicki Fazekas of Elizabeth; maternal grandfather, Alex Fazekas of Virginia; and uncle, Zachary Fazekas of Elizabeth. She had a beautiful soul, both creative and captivating. She was a loving and caring mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be deeply missed and dearly remembered by all who knew her. Friends and family will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Friday, September 4, 2020, from 2-4 PM and 6 PM until the time of service at 7 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Gerald T. Likar, 81, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday September 1, 2020, at home. Jerry worked his entire working life for the family business Likar Roofing of North Versailles.

He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon, and was a loving man who enjoyed being around his family. He was a son of the late John L. Sr. and Constance (Winslow) Likar and was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years Ruth A. (McSteen) Likar and a brother John L. Likar Jr. He is survived by his children Teresa Griffiths and her husband Jim, Kathy Parry and her husband Jerry, and Gerald W. (Miele) Helfmann, 76, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.  She was born September 29, 1943 in Braddock, PA, a daughter of the late Anthony Mylo and Mary (Wallace) Miele.  Prior to her retirement, Mary was a floor manager for Walmart and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church.  She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, reading on her Kindle, playing computer games, attending high school plays and dining with her friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman F. Helfmann;  brothers, Anthony (Eileen) Miele, Raymond Miele, David (partner, Dorothy) Miele, Robert (Danielle) Miele and Armand Miele. She is survived by her son, Todd and his wife, Kelly; two daughters Tracie Helfmann, Toni Kunselman and her husband, Erik; two grandsons, Joshua (Jessica) and Tyler Helfmann; and two grand dogs EmmyLou (Harris) Kunselman and Waylon (Jennings) Kunselman.  Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Friday at the James W. Eugene B. "Gene" Tyler, age 50, of Port Vue, died at home on August 29, 2020. Born September 10, 1969, in McKeesport, he was the son of William and Allie (Schmeltz) Tyler and the loving husband of Jennifer (Nordine) Tyler for 31 years.

Gene was a 1987 graduate of McKeesport High School and went on to enlist in the Navy. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time at his camp near Kittanning. At home, you could find him cooking, watching Nascar, rooting for the Steelers and Penguins, and spending time with his family.
