Joseph E. DeChicchis, age 96, of Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital in the company of his beloved wife and eldest child. He retired as a Command Pilot of the U.S. Air Force at the rank of Lt. Colonel, having flown "the Hump" during World War II (China-Burma-India), with subsequent combat service during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a former Director of Operations at the Pittsburgh Air Base and a former Wing Commander of the Pennsylvania Civil Air Patrol.

A member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Twp., he retired as a local area builder, having founded Joseph E. DeChicchis & Co. and J&E Building, and he was also the founder of J&E Rentals. Born December 26, 1923 in Painesville, Ohio, he was the eldest child of the late Caesar and Jennie (Perifano) DeChicchis.

Albert G. Estochin, Jr., age 47 of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at home. 

Born October 31, 1972 in McKeesport, he is the son of Albert G. Estochin, Sr. of Baldwin and Bonnie (Churchfield) Estochin, with whom he resided.  A certified electrician, Albert will be remembered as a generous and loving man who was loved in turn by all.  Albert got along with everyone, and everyone got along with Albert.  Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister Tracy Kostovnik of West Homestead; his girlfriend Angela Kutrek of North Huntingdon; his step-siblings Donna Estochin, Kim McFarland, and George Estochin; and also nieces and nephews.

A cook at the Terrace Garden Restaurant in Clairton, besides her mother, Kimberly is also survived by her children Misty (Dave Forrester) Laverick of Liberty Borough and Olivia and Shane Goodrum, both of Clairton; her grandchildren Brooklyn, Josephine, Davae, and Destini Forrester and Cassius Gardner; her sisters Jennifer (Rick) Scott of Stroudsburg and Kristin Kaskin of Long Island, NY; her special friend Arnold Ackerman of Glassport; and also many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

She worked for over 45 years at American General Insurance Company before retiring. “Sis” was always happy and telling jokes. She enjoyed camping, shopping and spending time with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Robert N. Patterson.

Francis “Jack” McCombs passed away on April 22, 2019 at his home in Alachua, Fla., with his sister and companion by his side.

Jack was born Feb. 23, 1932 in McKeesport, Pa., the son of Frank and Gladys McCombs of Versailles, Pa. He graduated from McKeesport High School in 1950.

Jack graduated from Kiski Prep School second in class and received athletic awards in five sports. He was admitted to Brown University in Providence, R.I., but decided that a liberal arts degree would not assist him in future
endeavors, and so he transferred to the University of Miami where he majored in aviation and graduated in 1956.

He was born March 26, 1943 in Duquesne, Pa., a son of the late Michael and LaVerne Pilcher Minarchin. James was a member of the Glad Tidings Church, Wyomissing, Pa. Prior to his retirement he was employed as an outside machinist at Carpenter  Technology and formerly employed by U.S. Steel in Duquesne. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force stationed in Korea. Jim enjoyed bike riding and was a devoted family man who enjoyed  spending time with his grandchildren . He was an avid sports enthusiast who loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Richard and Robert Minarchin. He is survived by his wife, Bonita Wiles Minarchin; three daughters, Lori Gergley (Ronald), Lisa Minarchin, Linda Werner; one sister Sharon Patrick; 7 grandchildren, Tyler, Kyle, Seth, Angelina, Madison, Riley, Ariana; 5 great-grandchildren, Jayce, Aiden, Xander, Roman and Colton.
