Jason K. Brokenbek, 48, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, August 24, 2020 in Jefferson Regional Hospital. He was born August 15, 1972 in Pittsburgh, a son of James and Mary Ann (Hunter) Brokenbek . Jason worked in the waterproofing and construction industry. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, wood carving, hunting, fishing and was a sketch and tattoo artist. He is survived by his daughter, Cora Byrne and her husband, Justin; grandson, Hunter John Byrne; and twin sister, Amy Brokenbek.

Robert N. Krauth, born April 21, 1937 in Pittsburgh went to sleep on Aug. 24, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents Norman and Henrietta Krauth; brothers Dick, Al and Dave and sisters Ginny and Peggy. He is survived by his beloved wife LaWanda (McDonald) Muscante Krauth and loved by his adopted Muscante family; brothers Fred and Tom and sisters Maryanne and Sister Leah and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a member of the River City Church, formerly known as the Glassport Assembly of God, where he served as a Deacon and also served in the US Airforce. Friends will be received at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Sunday from 2 to 6, at which time a memorial service will be held at 6:00 pm with Rev. Patrick Pugh. Due to Covid 19 the family requests social distancing and masks be worn. They also request no flowers, as that was Bob's wishes.

Joan “Sexy” Bellavance, 85 “forever 39” of Elizabeth (formerly of Clairton) Pennsylvania, passed away on August 21, 2020. Joan was a lifetime parishioner and pillar of the Ascension of Our Lord Byzantine Catholic Church, a member of the Jefferson Hospital Community Health Counsel, former secretary for Clairton City School District and account servicer for Pittsburgh and New England Trucking Company, as well as an avid Trump supporter.

Michael N. Kovalyak, age 80 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020. Born February 28, 1940 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John and Mary Kovalyak. US Army Veteran and Reservist, Michael Mike worked in supermarkets all his life, starting in Clairton at the former A & P and then retiring from Bartolotta’s as an assistant manager in their Glassport and Duquesne stores. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers George, Paul,. and Dr. John Kovalyak. Michael is survived by his siblings Betty Trepanowski of White Oak, Mary Zaken of Elizabeth, Ann Chargo of St. Petersburg, FL, Joseph Kovalyak of Palm Coast, FL, and James Kovalyak of Easley, SC; and also several nieces and nephews.

Connie was a parent involvement specialist with the Allegheny County Head Start Program, Executive Director with Mon-Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, Board Member with Allegheny County Regional Asset District (RAD), and a Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway Agency in Caste Village. She is survived by her husband Harold “Bud” Yarris; daughters; Valarie (Erick Gaither) Becker of Pleasant Hills and Susan Reid of Tampa Bay, FL; grandchildren Sheri, Brandi, Sydney, Seth, Matthew, Tim and Julianna; five great-grandchildren; and one 1 great-great-granddaughter. Besides her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her son John D. Yarris and granddaughter Jessica Yarris.

Rita J. Karnash, 89, of Glassport died Aug. 22, 2020. She is the daughter of the late William and Mary Blakley and beloved wife of the late Valentine Karnash. She is survived by daughters Donna Nolder of Glassport, Carol (Robert) Dandar of North Versailles and Valerie (Ron) Benoit of Glassport; son David (Cindy) Karnash of Glassport; also 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brother William Blakley and sisters Catherine Margolotti, Marcella "Icie" Synkowksi and Joyce Walters. Rita was a member of the Glassport Senior Citizens and the Queen of the Rosary Parish. Friends received Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Glassport on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8. The family would like to send a special thank you to Southerwestern Nursing Home for the excellent care given to their mom.

Kathy Peters, age 72, of North Versailles, PA, died Thursday, August 20, 2020. She was born in Scranton, PA, on June 20, 1948 and is the daughter of the late Lester and Mary Reese Davis. She is the loving wife of Richard Peters of 39 years. She was a devoted member, Sunday School teacher and Deacon of Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church in White Oak.
She graduated as an RN from Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA where she worked as a head nurse in the Cardiac Care Unit. Last fall, she enjoyed attending her 50th Nursing School Reunion. After her marriage, she moved to North Versailles and worked for many years for Family Home Health Services before a stroke forced her to retire. Several medical problems hit her after her stroke, but never stopped her. She loved to cook, read, and travel with Rich to B&B's all across the country.
