On Friday December 12, 2025, Helen age 100 of North Versailles passed away peacefully. Wife of the Late John Mihalk. Beloved mother of Betty (Don) Lederer, Denise (Sal) Mihalik Deak, and John (Vicki) Mihalik. Loving grandmother of Donnie, Brianna,, Anne Marie, Jacki (Stacey), Jake, Nicholas,(Maria), Josh, and Ryan. Dear. Great grandmother of Alexa, Isla, Stephan, Dominick, Peyton, and Jacob. Helen was a life member of Sunset VFC Ladies Auxiliary. She was President of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church from 15 years, and a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years. Crafting was her passion. She was so proud of her grandchildren and looked forward to the family traditional holiday feats. The family would like to thank the AHN Hospice Staff, treasured Dara, Ovi, and Dawn for the care and compassion they showed our mother. Also dear friends Valerie and Luvenia.

Virginia Mae (Fletcher) Solar

Virginia Mae (Fletcher) Solar, 85, of Irwin, died Monday, December 8, 2025. She was born April 22, 1940 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Allan F. and Beatrice (Harvey) Fletcher and was also preceded in death by her husband Paul M. Solar and siblings Miriam “Cookie” Mattern, Allan F. Fletcher Jr., Jerry Geyer and George Fletcher. Ginny worked at Bob Evans for many years and had also worked at the former Norwin Diner. When able, she attended Word of Life Church and was active with Community Life. She enjoyed playing bingo. She is survived by her sons Jeff Solar, Kirk (Dawn) Solar, and Scott (Lori) Solar; her grandchildren Ben, Cody, Sarah, and Katie; sisters, Janice DiVito, Darlene (Ken) Laliberte, and Leslie Costelnock; also several nieces and nephews. Friends were received from 2:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, December 11, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, where a funeral service followed at 6 p.m. Private interment will be at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. Gregory H. “Mickey” Maguire

Gregory H. “Mickey” Maguire, 87, of North Versailles, died Friday, December 5, 2025. He was born November 22, 1938 in Braddock, a son of the late James R. and Madeline (Singer) Maguire and was also preceded in death by his wife of over 57 years, Sandra Sue (Magyar) Maguire in July of 2024. He worked as a machinist for over 50 years for Whitaker Metals and Tri State Hydraulics. He was a member of Mary Mother of God Parish and a longtime member of the former St. Robert Bellarmine Church. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the piano and spending time with his family. He is survived by his children Colleen (Maguire) Yester (Fiancé Doug Worrall) of White Oak and James (Jennifer) Maguire of Plum; grandchildren Taylor Mari (Jimmy) Young, Erin Maguire, Kaylie Shae Yester, Kelly Maguire, Shannon Maguire and Ryan Maguire; a great grandson Dominic James Young; and a brother Pat Maguire of Seattle, WA. Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 10, at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. On December 14, 2025, Sally J. (Judd) Soles, 83, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by loving family and friends, after a journey with Alzheimer's.

Born on August 11, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Rose and Eugene Judd.

In 1960, Sally married the love of her life, William (Billy) Soles, and together they built a family filled with devotion, humor, and deep connection.

Sally lived life on her own terms. Through her years, she worked as a hairdresser, a role that perfectly suited her creativity and her gift for making others feel seen and cared for. She loved cooking, entertaining, decorating, and especially dancing, which brought her joy until she was no longer able to walk. With a generous spirit and colorful, sparkling sense of style, Sally's eyes truly lit up a room, and her warmth made others feel welcome and well cared for.

Alvin P. "Al" Miller

Alvin P. "Al" Miller, 80, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2025. He was born on April 3, 1945, in Charleroi, and  was the son of the late Clifton William and Mollie Esther (Hitt) Miller. A proud 1963 graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School, Al went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He completed his service as an E-5 Sergeant and was the recipient of several military awards in recognition of his dedication and service. Following his military career, Al spent many years as an operating engineer with Local 66. Known for his strong work ethic and dependability, he took great pride in providing for his family. Though his tough exterior might have suggested otherwise, those who truly knew Al understood that he was a gentle soul, a “teddy bear” at heart. He was deeply caring, loyal, and always ready to show up when he was needed. He will be greatly missed.

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, Janice Marie DiLonardo of Rostraver Twp. and formerly of Clairton, passed peacefully surrounded by her family.  Janice lived the entirety of her most remarkable, selfless life as a devoted wife of 63 years to her husband Anthony E. "Muzz" DiLonardo.  She was relentless in her role as "mom" in raising her three sons: Dean (Cathy Wolf) DiLonardo of Venetia, Anthony (Amy Beatty) DiLonardo of Rostraver Twp., and James (Kathy) DiLonardo of Chippewa.  Janice also leaves behind her grandchildren Luca and Guilia DiLonardo, Ethan Wolf, and Kendall Obley; her sister Carol (the late Jack) Ruffing of Vienna, WV; her brother Felix (Paula) Fusco of Clairton; and also many nieces and nephews.  Beyond her immediate family, she touched so many lives as a loving caretaker and friend advocate for the less fortunate.  Janice also served as a a lector for her parish: Triumph of the Holy Cross, St. Clare of Assisi Church in Clairton.

Dean Almon Finfinger, Jr., 76, of White Oak passed away at home on Friday, December 12, 2025. He was born March 19, 1949 in El Paso, TX and was the son of the late Dean Almon, Sr. and Mary Jane (Lewis) Finfinger. He was the loving husband of 52 years to his wife, Patricia (Gall) Finfinger. He recieved a Bachelor's in Education from California University of Pennsylvania, where he went on to teach shop class at Elizabeth Forward. He later worked for Eastmen Chemical Company in West Elizabeth as a Instrument Technician until his retirement. If you knew Dean, you loved him. He had a wonderful light about him that was infectious. His favorite saying was "it's all about the connections", and he lived by it. He knew people everywhere he went. His favorite past time was spending time with his grandchildren. Baseball holds a special place in his heart along with our entire Marauder Baseball family. He had a love for muscle cars, especially corvettes. He was a member of the Western Pennsylvania Corvette Club. Dean was his family's real life superman. He never lost his positive attitude and always made others laugh. He will be greatly missed by all of the people who loved him.

John Robert "Jack" Mayfield, 81, of Liberty Borough, passed away Friday, December 12, 2025.  Jack was born January 14, 1944 in West Newton and was the son of the late John Henry and Margaret D. (Dale) Mayfield.  He was the husband of the late Barbara Rose (Huemme) Mayfield, who passed away January 1, 2023. He was a graduate of Point Park College.   Jack worked many years in the banking industry, working for the same company, but many locations and various name changes, now known as PNC Bank. It is there where he met his beloved wife, when they worked together in The People's Building in McKeesport.  He was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Township.  Jack was a simple man who enjoyed sitting in the same chair watching TV, some of his favorite things to watch were The History Channel, and How It's Made, to name a few. He enjoyed reading the newspaper, especially "the funnies". Jack was also a homebody who enjoyed puttering. He learned how to be handy around the house at his wife's persuasion.  He will be greatly missed.

Albert A. Yuhas

Albert A. Yuhas, age 93, passed away peacefully on November 15, 2025, at Hospice House in Bend, OR. Albert was born on October 28, 1932, in Duquesne, PA. He was the youngest child of Andrew and Mary (Straka) Yuhasz. His parents and brother John and sister Helen preceded his death. His wife, Geraldine, passed away on July 24, 1994. Geraldine and Albert were married on February 11, 1956.

He is survived by his sister Alice Svirble of West Mifflin. Albert has three surviving children, Linda Phelan, Martin Yuhas and Andrew Yuhas. Also surviving are his grandchildren Sarah, Katie, David and Bradley. In Al’s later years, his greatest joy was his four great grandchildren, Gunner, Rosy, Luke and Riley.

Albert joined the Marine Corps soon after graduating from high school. He served at Camp Lejune and was honorably discharged on February 3, 1961.

Albert was a steelworker, employed by, initially, at US Steel in Pittsburgh and later at Midwest Steel in Portage, IN. He lived may years in Michigan City, IN, where he and Geraldine raised their children and managed to put all of them through college. After Geraldine’s passing, he moved to Portland, OR, where his daughter and two grandchildren lived. During that time, in retirement, he spent much of his time volunteering for St. Vincent de Paul and Meals on Wheels. He was active in the Knights of Columbus for most of his adult life. He loved to fish, hike, hunt and play golf. He had a wonderful sense of humor! Sadly, Al suffered a massive stroke in 2006 which had an impact on his ability to speak and walk for the rest of his life. He was cared for by his daughter until his passing.

Albert’s ashes will be buried at Holy Trinity Cemetery, West Mifflin, next to his beloved wife. The graveside service will take place on April 11, 2026. Norma Jean Schoeller, age 79 of White Oak, passed away at home on Wednesday, December 10, 2025.  Born January 13, 1946 in Duquesne , she was a daughter of the late Ivan and Gladys (Lyons) Shultz.  A member of the Bryn Mawr Church of Christ in White Oak, Norma worked at both Sam's Club in West Mifflin and waitressed at Plug N' Piston Restaurant in Plum.  She is survived by her children James (Yola) "Shultz" Schoeller of Chambersburg, Brant Schoeller of White Oak, Jeffrey Schoeller of White Oak, and Jennifer Lee Schoeller of Harrison City; and her six grandchildren: Ashley, Bradley, Brandon and Jenna Schoeller and Chase and Colton Beck.  Besides her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her siblings Joanne, Bruce, and Rev. SueEllen Nangle, 72, of Elizabeth Township, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2025. She was born on June 4, 1953, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late William and Doris Ann (Mital) Plavchak. She was a proud graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College.  A lifelong educator at heart, SueEllen devoted many years to teaching home economics in the Elizabeth Forward School District. Her classroom was a place of patience, creativity, and encouragement, and she touched countless lives through her gentle guidance and genuine care for her students. SueEllen was a loving wife and aunt, a devoted friend, and the kind of neighbor everyone hopes to have. SueEllen was an avid bowler and was a member of The Lucky Strikes league at the former Brunswick Bowl in Rostraver. She was also a member of numerous other organizations and women's clubs.  She was a familiar and beloved presence at Friday night football games, with her husband, Coach “Big Frank” Nangle, as they supported teams across Elizabeth Forward, Belle Vernon, Charleroi, and Ringgold. She was Frank’s greatest supporter, both in his coaching career and in his BBQ business. A gifted cook, crafter, and talented seamstress, SueEllen poured creativity into everything she touched. Whether stitching something by hand, preparing a favorite dish, or crafting a thoughtful gift, she expressed her love through her talents. Her warmth, generosity, and steady kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

John T. Baker Jr., age 63, of West Mifflin, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, in UPMC Mercy. Born in Homestead on March 1, 1962, he is the son of Ruth (Coughanour) Baker of West Mifflin and the late John Baker Sr.

He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in chemical engineering and was employed at Veolia. He loved Steeler football and had his dream job as an usher at Acrisure Stadium. He enjoyed football, watching sports and listening to live music. He proudly served his country in the Army.

John is the father of Olivia (Rich) Thomas of Ocean City, MD and grandfather of their daughter, Lydia Thomas and the father of Jonathon (Valerie) Baker of Dover, DE; companion of Dolores Murray of Ocean City, MD; and brother of Kenny Baker, Kevin (Brenda) Baker of Dravosburg and Karen Hannold of Meadville, Todd Baker and Kristen Baker. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
