Beverly J. Cunningham, 90, passed away on Thursday, Sept. 19, 2024 at Kane Regional Center in McKeesport.  She was born March 1, 1934 in Duquesne.  She is the daughter of the late Anthony H. Berta and Helen (Holman) Berta.  Beverly was a homemaker and a member of the Eastern Star.  In her lifetime she enjoyed word search puzzles and people watching.  Her favorite thing to do was goint out to eat.  In addtion to her parenst, Beverly was preceded in death by her loved husband of over 50 years, Robert James Cunningham and two brothers Albert Berta and Edward Berta.  She is survived by her children James (the late Lisa) Cunningham, Nancy (Ken) Douglass and Cathy (Ed) Moody; grandchildren Anthony and Robby Douglass, Brandon and Jonathan Moody; great grandchildren Aria, Blake and Maverick.  Friends will be received at the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Mon. from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8.  A funeral service will be held Tues. 11:00 am at the funeral home.  Interment following Jefferson Memorial Park.

James R. Crowe Jr., age 85 of North Versailles, formerly of McDonald, passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Point Pleasant in North Versailles. He was born on July 29, 1939 in McDonald, a son of the late James R. Crowe Sr. and Jennie Behling Crowe. James was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps prior to his employment as a steel worker for Pittsburgh Forgings in Coraopolis. He was a member of McDonald Presbyterian Church and McDonald Volunteer Fire Department. In his free time, James enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Maryann Margerum Crowe, and two sisters, Wilma Davis and Dolores Eckles. He is survived by three sons, Robert Dye (Dina), Gary Margerum, and Philip Margerum, one sister, Sandra Kress (Ron), grandchildren Ella Bommer (Justin), Mackenzie Baker (Zach), Paige, Kayla, Mackenzie, and Terry Margerum, great-grandchildren Avery, Easton, Gray, and his beloved niece Renee Davis Minski. William Harvey Bryer, age 94, of West Mifflin, PA, died on Friday, September 13, 2024. He was born in McKeesport, PA on December 26, 1929 and was the son of the late Henry and Matilda Noll Bryer. William proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and later retired at the age of fifty-three from US Steel Clairton Works after thirty-five years of service. He enjoyed golfing and cooking, while being nicknamed, “Master Microwave Cooker”.

Edward F. "Ed" Scott, 71, of Elizabeth Township, passed away Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. Ed was born August 21, 1953 in McKeesport and was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Krajewski) Scott. Ed worked for over 24 years as a mobile equipment mechanic for US Steel, starting with the former Duquesne Works and retiring from the Clairton Works location. Ed attended Mary, Mother of God- St. Patrick Church. He was known for his humor, he loved to play jokes on anyone he could, and make people laugh. Ed was also known by his family to be very kind hearted, but also very stubborn. He was an excellent mechanic, a handyman around his home and a jack of all trades. He was an avid gardener, who loved to grow green beans, green peppers, tomatoes and cherry tomatoes. He loved making a jumbo sandwich with Hellman's mayonnaise and fresh tomatoes from his garden on Rye bread. Ed was a sports fan and loved to cheer on the Steelers and Penguins. He was also a homebody and took great pride in his lawn. Ed enjoyed cooking, was known for his delicious apple and berry pies. Ed loved his family and his dogs, especially Leo and the late CD. He will be greatly missed.

Barbara Mayes Cant, 85, was called home to her Lord on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. She was the daughter of the late John Alfred and Helen Marie (Cristman) Chambers. She was born In McKeesport on May 4, 1939 and grew up in Dravosburg. She worked for Lester J. Gordon DDS as a dental assistant in McKeesport for 14 1/2 years. Barb then worked at Visiting Nurses of Allegheny County for 20 years as a CNA and then hospice until she retired. She was a member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church and enjoyed going to bible studies. Previously belonging to Immanuel Presbyterian Church in McKeesport for 50 years where she went to bible studies, sang in the choir and was a Deacon and Elder. She loved reading, camping, playing the clarinet, fishing, gardening, and taking pictures of every beautiful thing she saw - especially birds. She is preceded in death by her husbands James Dewey Neel Jr., and Robert John Cant Jr. She is survived by step-sons, Guy (Carol) Cant, and Jack (Kristine) Cant; step-grandsons, Jeremiah (Jeri) Cant, and Jesse Cant; step-great-grandsons, Jacan, and Joel Cant; sister-in-laws, and cousins. James W. "Jimbo" Wood, age 82, of McKeesport, died September 16, 2024, at Kane Community Living Center in McKeesport.  Born March 1, 1942, in Sewickley Twp., he was the son of the late James C. and Anna (Jury) Wood and was the beloved husband of 41 years to Alice (Kontur) Wood.
James dedicated much of his life to hard work, starting in the mill and later at Good Neighbor Car Wash, where he eventually retired from.  His passion for cars, particularly Chevys, was evident in the countless hours he spent tinkering and fixing them alongside his best friend, Danny.  Their shared love for cars created a bond that endured through the years.

Judith Ann  Spell, 79, of White Oak, passed away Friday, Sept. 13, 2024, peacefully at home during her nightly Jeopardy.  Judy is the wife of the late Robert Spell and beloved mother of Hilary Spell and the late James McCombs.  She is survived by her brother and sisters in laws, Edie (the late Jack) Spell and William and Debbie Spell; special niece Bonnie (Dan) Weissert; nephews Robert Riemenschneider, Jack (Karen) Spell and Bill Spell; nieces Jenna (Jay) Tewell and Lisa Spell; also great nieces and nephews; great friends Kathy Caparelli and Jan Stojanovic; godson Craig Stojanovic.  In addition to her parents, Clyde and Genevieve (Mellinger) Riemenschneider, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ray and Clyde (the late Audrey) Riemenschneider. Judy was a graduate of McKeesport High School, class of 1962, and California University.  She was proud of her career as an English Teacher for South Allegheny School District and was a member of the McKeesport College Club and First Presbyterian Church in Duquesne.  Special thank you to Karen from AHN Hospice and the girls, Cindy, Dakota, Dolly, Norma and Taya.  Thank you for being there and helping her be at home.  Friends will be received at the Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, Duquesne on Monday from 2 to 8 and on Tuesday at the First Presbyterian Church from 10 to 11, at which time a funeral service will be held with Rev. Olga Mary (Knezevich) Pribanich, 100, a former long-time resident of Glassport, passed away peacefully on September 10, 2024, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, surrounded by her loving daughter and son-in-law, with whom she resided. The oldest of four children, she was born on October 6, 1923, in Donora, Pennsylvania to the late Nicholas Knezevich and the late Sima Bumber Knezevich. Olga was the loving wife of the late John Pribanich. She is survived by her daughters Kathleen (William) Bevil of Calvert City, KY, Janice (Edward) Gambone of Valrico, FL, and son John R. Pribanich (Rozanna) of East McKeesport, PA.  She is also survived by six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Olga was preceded in death by her husband John Pribanich, her parents Nicholas and Sima Bumber Knezevich, daughter Christine Spanbauer, brothers Anthony and Rudolph, and sister Lidy. She was a graduate of Glassport High School Class of 1941 and was a former owner and bookkeeper for Cher-Ban Tire Service, Inc. in North Versailles, PA. Olga was a former member of Sacred Heart Croatian Catholic Church in McKeesport, PA, and later St. Martin de Porres where she was involved with the church choir, as well as the the Croatian Fraternal Union. Her hobbies included travel, duckpin bowling, and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 noon at E.C.
