John W. "JG" Grueso, age 60, of Bethel Park, passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at UPMC Mercy. He retired as the owner of JG Contracting in Clairton. He loved spending time with his family, especially being Pappy to his three grandkids. Born November 25, 1959 in Clairton, he was a son of the late William and Ruth (Mazurek) Grueso. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Bonnie (Tressler) Grueso; daughter, Ashley (John) Bennett of McMurray; grandchildren, Avalyn, Jeb and Jacob Bennett; sister, Jill (Bob) Rizzo of Clairton; and nephew, Jeremy Rizzo of Clairton. Donna (Snyder) Bowers, age 82, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at home. She was a member of First Evangelical Free Church in McKeesport, where she was a member of the Ladies White Cross Missionary Society. She was a volunteer at Elizabeth Boro Clergy Food Bank and a former member of Elizabeth Wesleyan Church. Born December 21, 1937 in Star Junction, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Faye (Askey) Snyder. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, H. Glenn Bowers Jr.; children, Pastor Charles (Rosella) Bowers of Morgantown, WV, Stephen (Sarah) Bowers of Clarkson, KY and Edward Bowers of Greenock; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Judy Armstrong of Confluence and Sandy Martinelli of Elizabeth Twp.; also, nieces and nephews.

Mary Ann "Beebo" (Capul) Lewis, age 86 of Clairton, passed away at her daughter's home surrounded by her loving family. Born January 5, 1934 in Baltimore, MD, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Teresa (Pasquerell) Capul. A retired medical secretary for UPMC Children's Hospital, Mary Ann was an active member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish in Clairton. She is survived by her husband of 63 years (together for 70 years) Robert Lewis; her children Brian (Leslie) Lewis of Chicago, IL, Lori (Donald) Mason of Homestead, and Paul (Pamela) Lewis of Mentor, OH; her grandchildren Blake, Payton, Ethan, Cole, Ben, John, and Riley; her siblings Loretta Valvo, Frances Lawson, Irene Rossi, and Terese and Mark Capul; her stepmother Carole Capul; and also nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary Ann was preceded in death by her siblings Joan Kutscher, Louise Lewis, and Anthony Capul.

Gerald F. Koebler Jr., age 77, of Elizabeth Twp., formerly of Manor, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at UPMC Presbyterian. He was a retired electrician at General Motors Fisher Body in West Mifflin.
He was a Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War on the guided missile destroyer the USS Charles F. Adams DG-2. He was a friend of Bill W. and anyone else who needed someone to listen, an avid hunter and fisherman, and a master of all trades.
He was first in his class in electronics at Great Lakes Electronics in Michigan. Born April 14, 1943 in Greensburg, he was a son of the late Gerald F. Koebler Sr. and the late Alice C. (Hohman) Koebler. He is survived by daughters, Erin (Tom) Koebler of Longmeadow, MA and Alison (Joe) Koebler of Verona; grandchildren, Aidan, Ryan and Nolan; long-time partner with whom he resided, Geraldine A. Corbett and her family; brother, Mark (Betty) Koebler of Penn Hills; also, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Michael N. Kovalyak, age 80 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020. Born February 28, 1940 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late John and Mary Kovalyak. US Army Veteran and Reservist, Michael Mike worked in supermarkets all his life, starting in Clairton at the former A & P and then retiring from Bartolotta’s as an assistant manager in their Glassport and Duquesne stores. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers George, Paul,. and Dr. John Kovalyak. Michael is survived by his siblings Betty Trepanowski of White Oak, Mary Zaken of Elizabeth, Ann Chargo of St. Petersburg, FL, Joseph Kovalyak of Palm Coast, FL, and James Kovalyak of Easley, SC; and also several nieces and nephews.

Connie was a parent involvement specialist with the Allegheny County Head Start Program, Executive Director with Mon-Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce, Board Member with Allegheny County Regional Asset District (RAD), and a Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway Agency in Caste Village. She is survived by her husband Harold “Bud” Yarris; daughters; Valarie (Erick Gaither) Becker of Pleasant Hills and Susan Reid of Tampa Bay, FL; grandchildren Sheri, Brandi, Sydney, Seth, Matthew, Tim and Julianna; five great-grandchildren; and one 1 great-great-granddaughter. Besides her parents, Connie is preceded in death by her son John D. Yarris and granddaughter Jessica Yarris.

Charles 'Chuck" E. Lehman, Sr., age 71 of Clairton and formerly of both Gulfport, MS and Saucier, MS, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 in Jefferson Hospital. Born March 31, 1949 in Pittsburgh, he was a son of the late Charles B. and Mildred "Lucille" (Stewart) Lehman. A graduate of Clairton High School and a member of Wilson Presbyterian Church in Clairton, Charles worked as a meat cutter, field merchandiser, and manager of both of those departments for Kroger in Mississippi and Thorofare in Pittsburgh.

He was a retired steelworker at Glassport Foundry and was a former bus driver for 25 years with the Elizabeth Forward School District. He loved golfing, bowling and stock car racing, and was a member of Youghiogheny Masonic Lodge No. 583. Born January 4, 1938 in Glassport, he was a son of the late Joseph M. and Sophia P. Gertrude "Trudy" Bacon, age 93 of McKeesport, passed away on Monday, August 17, 2020 at Jupiter Rehab and Nursing Center. Born July 31, 1927 in Duquesne, she was a daughter of the late George and Mary (Grego) Dobransky. Trudy was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish (Corpus Christi Church) in McKeesport, a member of the CFU Lodge #146 of Versailles and its Pennsembles, Ladies, and Pensioneers Clubs, a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, and the Mon Yough Friendship Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter Bacon, Sr. who passed away on February 19, 1998. She is survived by her son Peter (Karen) Bacon, Jr. of Jupiter, FL, brother Edward Dobransky of Orlando, FL, sister Dolores Stiver of West Mifflin, and also nieces and nephews.

Daniel M. DiMucci, Jr., age 90 of McKeesport, passed away in his daughters home in Alabama. Born August 17, 1930 in Hostetter, PA, he was a son of the late Donato and Ida (DiSciascio) DiMucci. A 1952 graduate of Clemson University, where he earned All-ACC honors as a guard on the Tigers football team, Daniel retired as a retired history teacher and football coach for the Plum School District. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish (St. Patrick's Church), a lifelong member of the Italian Sons and Daughters, and a founder of the "Duke and Ding" Scholarship Fund at McKeesport High School. He was also active in organizing Christy Park Reunions and caring for the Christy Park Veterans' Memorial. Daniel is survived by his wife of 62 years Virginia (Rohac) DiMucci; his children Nancy (Frank) Roig of Anniston, AL and Daniel (Paula) DiMucci, III of Port Vue; his grandchildren Natalie McKnight, Tori Argus, Bridgette Jepson, and Donato DiMucci; his great-granddaughter Lucy McKnight; his sister Gloria Tackas of Port Vue; and also nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his siblings Connie DiBatista, Rose Begandy, and Joe and Dom DiMucci.

James C. Shumaker, age 78 of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2020 in Jefferson Hospital. Born January 2, 1942 in South Park, he was a son of the late Ira and Rita (Collins) Shumaker. As a young man, James earned a football scholarship to VMI and earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, then served 15 years in the US Marine Corps doing four tours of duty in Vietnam and attaining the rank of Captain until he was injured in duty. After returning to the United States, James took a job as a supervising plant manager for Fleetwood in Riverside, CA, handling Fleetwood's plants in fifteen states and Canada. Upon returning to this area, he served as a supervising manager for Greenman Peterson Construction and retired from Johnson Mirmiran & Thompson where he supervised infrastructure projects such as bridges in the area and Routes 43 and 376. James also was a self employed home inspector. He is survived by his wife of 27 years Carolyn (Cerqua) Shumaker, his daughters Kelli Hill of Cayucos, CA and Kristen (Michael) Nehus of Wylie, TX, his granddaughter Hannah Hill of San Diego, CA, his brothers Ira and William Shumaker, and also nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, James was preceded in death by his son James C. Shumaker, Jr. and sister Patricia Shumaker Kling.
