Judi A. Sandmeyer, of Warminster, died on Friday, June 21, 2019, at Abington Memorial Hospital. She was 70.

Daughter of the late Paul C. and Ellen Barber Sandmeyer, formerly of New Hope, where she spent her younger years, she was born in Chicago, Illinois and graduated from Elgin Academy, in Elgin, Illinois.

Judi was a resident of Warminster for the past 20 years and was employed at a pharmacy in Hatboro.  Because of her talent and creativity, art became a hobby and she did free-lance designs.

Judi will be missed for her loving and creative ways.  Also missing her and looking for her are her canine companions, Lali and Bennie.

William Baccile

William Baccile, age 90 of Jefferson Hills, Pennsylvania died on Wednesday, June 12, 2019.  He was born on April 9, 1929 one of two children of Michael and Mary (De John) Baccile in Vandergrift, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.  Bill was a U.S. Army Veteran during the period after World War II and into the early stages of the Korean Conflict.

Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dorothy (Opatkiewicz) Baccile; four children, daughters, Linda (Ed) Eismont of New Stanton, Pennsylvania and Rose (Jeff) Domenick of Irwin, Pennsylvania, sons, William (Laurie) Baccile of Huron Township, Michigan and Dominic (Susan) Baccile of Clairton, Pennsylvania; nine grandchildren and three and half great grandchildren.

David P. Adams

David P. Adams, 68, of Murrysville, passed away suddenly on Monday, June 3, 2019, with his family by his side.

Born March 17, 1951, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Michael and Margaret (Skurnick) Adams. Dave was a member of the last class of Westinghouse Memorial High School, and a graduate of Point Park University. He worked for many years for Carclo Technical Plastics in Export and Latrobe, and as a professional photographer for newspapers, other publications, schools, and organizations.

He was a former member and past president of Murrysville Lions Club, and an avid supporter of Franklin Regional Marching Band. He also was a huge Pittsburgh Penguins fan and a longtime member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Export. Most important to Dave was his family, and he was a loving father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnijean Cooney Adams; daughters Susan Adams, Lisa (Lou) Garbin, Nettie (Eric) Matheny, and Racquel (Chris) Matijak; grandchildren Tori Adams, Saarah Matijak, Samantha Matijak, and Ryan Garbin; foster grandchildren, and one on the way; brothers Ray (Patti) Adams and Bob (Mary) Adams; nieces, great-nieces, great-nephews, and many family friends.

Ryan Daniel Malady

On May 15, 2019 the Lord swiftly and suddenly came and took Ryan Daniel Malady, age 43, of Gibsonia, to be with Him in Heaven.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Dana Giugliano Malady and his precious children Michael, Juliana, and Mia.  Also survived by his parents, Sue (Sorg) and Dan Malady, his loving mother & father in-law Debbie (Pampena) and Tony Giugliano, brother in-law Anthony (Laura McCauley) Giugliano, niece and nephew Annabelle & Liam Giugliano and the many others who have loved him and will miss him.

Ryan had a special devotion and relationship with God and was a thoughtful husband and wonderful family man, who was always involved in the needs and activities of his children.  Ryan worked in medical sales for many years, where he loved having the opportunity to help so many people.  He loved golf, skiing at Hidden Valley with his family, running, and enjoyed all sports, especially the Steelers.  Ryan remained friends with his high school and college buddies and the people he met always appreciated his sense of humor, kindness and concern for others.

Elmer L. Tremont

Elmer L. Tremont, 89, of Fort Myers, Florida, born on November, 26, 1929 in McKeesport, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2019. He was a graduate of and football letterman for the University of Miami, and a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War.
 
He was a retired coach and educator for Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, where he coached the boys football and basketball teams and the girls basketball team. He was in the Lee County School Athletic Conference Hall of Fame and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the co-founder of Hillmyer-Tremont Foundation which provides scholarships to athletes. He loved his family, he enjoyed golfing, and was an avid University of Miami fan.

Norman J. Vargo, 85, of North Huntingdon passed away peacefully on Friday, May 3, 2019 after an amazing life that saw him go from the rugged Steel Valley to various places around the world. Born in Munhall on March 23, 1934, he was the doting husband of 61 years to his sweetheart Audrey (Cawley) Vargo and the loving father of Mark (Sharon) Vargo, of North Huntingdon; Michael (Brian) Vargo, of Mt. Joy; Sandee Vargo, of North Huntingdon and Gary (Taryn) Vargo, of Irwin. His legacy lives on through his grandchildren Christopher (Tiffany) Vargo, of North Huntingdon; Sean (Erin) Vargo, of North Versailles and Tennyson Vargo of Irwin.
 
Stormin’ Norman, as he is known both locally and nationally, was the Sports Editor of The McKeesport Daily News covering six Super Bowls, two world series, four MLB All-Star Games, three NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs, two US Opens, three world championship boxing matches, Pitt’s incredible run to the 1976 National Championship, the 1980 Olympic Games in Lake Placid, and countless local and scholastic sporting events.

LeRoy Michael Cipriani, 79, formerly of Glassport, passed away peacefully Good Friday, April 19, 2019, at the Bellhaven Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Brookhaven, N.Y.

He is the son of the late Fred Cipriani Sr. and Winifred Ashton Cipriani.

LeRoy is survived by his daughter, Kelly Marie Cipriani of Moriches, N.Y.; his son Daniel LeRoy Cipriani and his wife, Lindsey Bliss Cipriani, and seven loving grandchildren of Glendale, N.Y.; brothers Arthur Cipriani and Fred Cipriani, both of Glassport; sister Dolores (Dottie Jo) Nagle of Mt. Pleasant and her husband, Robert; many nieces and nephews;  extended family; and former spouse Pamela Cipriani Ring (husband, John) of Plum.

Paul Daniel Ohrman

Paul Daniel Ohrman, a retired metallurgical engineer and published author of “Living to Serve: Church, Family, Country” and “Bridges to Peace: WW II Through the Lens of a Combat Engineer” died peacefully with his family by his side at home March 9, 2019. He was 96.

Born and raised in McKeesport, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel A. and Matilda H. (Anderson) Ohrman. Mr. Ohrman married his childhood sweetheart, Alice (Roland) Ohrman on December 21, 1947, and the couple resided in McKeesport and Monroeville, PA. where they raised their family.

Mr. Ohrman served honorably in the US Army during WW II as a Technical Specialist Grade 5 photographer with the 264th Combat Engineering Battalion in the European Theatre, building bridges for Patton’s 3rd Army. Mr. Ohrman took photographs of Erfurt and Buchenwald concentration camps when they were liberated. Following his military service, Mr. Ohrman earned degrees from Washington and Jefferson University, the University of New Hampshire, and Carnegie Mellon University. He was employed by US Steel as a chief metallurgical engineer at various mills and the national headquarters in Pittsburgh. After retiring from US Steel, he became technical services manager at National Materials Corp. and Tang Industries.

Marie Elaina Shepherd (Sestile), age 55, of Crofton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 in Annapolis, MD.

Marie was born in McKeesport, PA, to John Michael Sestile and Mary Ann Gonchar on February 10, 1964. She attended McKeesport High School and graduated in 1982. She earned an associate’s degree from the Community College of Allegheny County in 1985 and a bachelor’s degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 1988. She was employed as a financial aid counselor at The Catholic University of America (CUA), 1989-2014, and was an AVON salve representative since 2007.

Marie is survived by her husband, William (John), son William Jr., sister Angela Hitchcock, brother Johnny Sestile, father John Sestile, mother Mary Ann Graham, niece Amber Garcia, niece Leanna Koharchik, nephews Hayden Leamer, Steven and Ian Pearce, and great nephews Aiden Mayorga and Grayson Pearce.

Shirley J. Torboli Kushner, age 80, of Cranberry Twp., formerly of White Oak, passed away on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 while under the care of UPMC Cranberry Place.

Shirley was born on May 2, 1938 in Avella, Washington County. She was a faithful member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Parish in Cranberry Twp. Known for her beautiful smile, Shirley was a kind and generous woman who had a great sense of humor. Her laughter was contagious to everyone around her. Above all, she will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Robert J. Kushner, whom she married on February 10, 1962; her daughter, Christine Pawlak and her husband, Kurt; her grandchildren, Daniel, Michael, Sarah and Connor; her brothers, Kenneth and David Torboli; her sisters, Diane Meriage and Maxine Mason; and her daughter-in-law, Angela Kushner.
