Services will be private. Arrangements made by the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, North Huntingdon, PA. Memorial contributions can be made to Circleville United Methodist Church, North Huntingdon.  www.shirleyfuneralhome.com

Betty Novakovich

By Administrator | Posted in: Alfieri Funeral Home

Betty Novakovich, 82, died Sunday, February 21, 2021. Born to Teodor and Danica Novakovic on December 31, 1938 in Wall, Pennsylvania, the family had six children: Dan, John “Lefty”, Charlie, Mitzi, Betty & Martha.  All of the children were members of the St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church at one time in their life. Betty remained a faithful lifelong member of the church — singing in the church choir for years and professing her faith each and every Sunday.

Betty attended Westinghouse Memorial High School and graduated in 1956.  She was a proud and loyal employee of US Steel for decades until she retired in 2009.  Because she enjoyed keeping busy, after retirement she worked at several part time administrative jobs until only a few years ago.

In her spare time, she enjoyed playing cards with friends as well as going to local bingos and casinos.  Friends considered her “lucky” - but the lucky ones were her loved ones!  Somehow, Betty managed to remain close to each and every one of them individually.  It was rare for her to miss a birthday or special occasion.
