Dorothy J. "D.J." Shawl, age 81, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at Jefferson Hospital. She was a member of the Bunola Church of the Nazarene. Born October 13, 1938 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Biddle) Neal. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, George E. Shawl; children, Jayne Ann Fowler of Finleyville, Jim (Kim) Shawl of Lower Speers, Janis (Dan Salaj) Salka of Jefferson Hills, Nancy (the late Jeffrey) Fetchen of Bunola and George M. (Beth) Shawl of Everett; grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Jarrod, James, Julie, George, Jordan and Dakota; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Jamee (Albert) Powell of Finleyville; also, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by grandson, Steven. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Friday, February 7, 2020 from 4-8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 10 AM in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ronald Doran officiating. James, 71, of Irwin, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020.  She was born, August 20, 1948 in Bloomfield, a daughter of the late Sam and Valetta (Lampe) Martin.  Barbara enjoyed knitting and crafting.  She is survived by her son, Scott R. James; daughters, Tracy Funk, Wendy Martin (Paul Bertolina); brother, Sam; sisters, Valetta, Betsy; grandchildren, Nicole, Corey, Zachary, Kaley; two great-grandchildren, Lilia and Austin; and former husband, Cyril "Butch" James.  Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the James W. LaNora Louise (Rouse) Price passed away peacefully on February 1, 2020, at her home in North Versailles after a long illness. Born July 19, 1933, in Pittsburgh to John and Margaret Rouse, LaNora grew up on the Northside, graduating from Allegheny High School in 1951. In September of that year, she married Donald Price, a marriage that lasted until his death in 2008.

LaNora worked as an operator for Bell Telephone and as a meat cutter for Kroger’s in Duquesne but retired in 1972 to be a stay-at-home mother to her daughter Dawn.

After Donald’s retirement, he and LaNora traveled extensively, visiting England, Scotland, Wales, and Italy, and finally taking their dream vacation to Egypt.

James R. Miller, 76, of McKeesport passed away in Kane Regional Hospital, McKeesport. He was born February 23, 1943m in McKeesport, the son of the late William and Theima Miller. Jim was a retired draftman. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Donald. 

According to his wishes, there was no visitation. Burial was in Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles, Pa., next to his family. Arrangments were in charge of William H. Craig Funeral Home, Inc. of McKeesport, Pa.

Robert Mueller, 73, of Clairton Pa, passed away on Monday, February 3rd, 2020 at United Hands Homecare. He was born and raised in Mt. Washington Pa on November 3, 1946 to the late Frank M, and Ruth Kerting Mueller. He is survived by his brother Bill (Nancy) Mueller, of Mt Washington, and sister in law Linda Mueller of Coraopolis, as well as many cousins and friends. Robert was preceded in death by his brother David Mueller. He enjoyed collecting many things especially records. He also was an avid animal lover of all breeds of dogs and cats. He was formerly employed by W.H.J.B of Greensburg as a radio broadcaster and announcer. Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME. Betty Jane (Hunt) Philipp, age 88, of North Versailles, passed away February 3, 2020. She was born October 22, 1931 in Patton Township, a daughter of the late James and Luella Hunt. She was a long-time member of Linway United Presbyterian Church in North Versailles.

She enjoyed watching the Steelers, Penguins, and Pitt football, as well as going to bingo and dinners at the Ride and Hunt Club in North Huntingdon.

She will be greatly missed by her children, grandchildren and family dogs. She is survived by her daughters Pamela (Scott) Susan of Port Vue and Lorie (James) Moorhead of Rotonda West, Florida; grandchildren Jolene (Chris) Wilson, James (Patty) Moorhead; Mark (Shelly) Susan and Chad Susan; great grandchildren Sierra, Grant, Evelynn, Addison, James III, Savannah and Killian; and twin brother James Hunt from Kettering, Ohio.

He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Wilmerding and owned many business in the past including the North Versailles Nursery.

He is survived by his wife of over 54 years Diane Schwer; sons Charles (Cheryl) Schwer III of Westmoreland City and Thomas (Cyndi) Schwer of East McKeesport; grandchildren Nina, Charles, Jacob and Maxwell Schwer; his father in law Daniel Santimauro; brothers Jack (Barbara) Schwer, Timothy Schwer and Patrick (Kathleen) Schwer; brother in law Daniel (Sandra) Santimauro; and nieces and nephews.
