She retired as a secretary for Dick Corp. in Jefferson Hills and was a former secretary for Michael Adams Esq. in Pleasant Hills. A former member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Elrama, she enjoyed flea markets, making cakes for birthdays, weddings and special occasions, and always had a kind and generous heart and a special love for children. .

Rose Marie Hanicak, 91, of Irwin, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 at Golden Heights Personal Care Home, Irwin.  She was born September 12, 1927 in McKeesport, a daughter of the late Matthew and Mary (Yedinak) Kaftanich.   Prior to her retirement, Rose was a registered nurse for Mercy Hospital and a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church and funeral choir.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Hanicak; and sisters, Katherine Lindamood, Dorothy Faix and Eleanor Zuber.  She is survived by her sons, Donald J. Hanicak and his wife, Nancy, Robert P. Hanicak, Kenneth L. Hanicak and his wife, Robin, John E. Hanicak and his wife, Julie; daughter, Karen L. Foster and her husband, William; grandchildren, Tanna and Christopher, Cassandra and Jeff, Sasha and Tyler, Scott, Dakota and Chris; and great-grandchildren, Camryn, Triston, Colby, Grayson and Avery.  Friends will be received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon.  A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, North Huntingdon.  Interment will be private in Visitation Cemetery, Mt. Bruce M. Gray, age 70, of North Versailles, passed away Saturday, May 11, 2019. He was born April 27, 1949 in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Edwin and Alice Gray. He was a Navy veteran that went onto work as a supervisor at the Westinghouse plant in East Pittsburgh before working for the State of Pennsylvania in the welfare office in McKeesport. He was a member of the Elks in North Huntingdon. He is survived by his loving wife of over 47 years Janice Gray; children Jack (Jennifer) D’Amico, Tara (Michael) Barone, John (Meredith) Gray and Jason (Andrea) Gray; and grandchildren McKenzie Gray, Victoria Barone, Theodore “Teddy” Gray, Charlize “Charlie” Gray and Michael Barone.

Donoghue, 66, of McKeesport, died Friday, May 10, 2019 at her home.  Born in Wilkinsburg, PA on December 18, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Betty Hockenbery Obies.  Wife of the late James Donoghue, she is survived by her children, Allan Jenkins of Land O Lakes, FL, Eric Jenkins of East McKeesport, Melissa Willis of McKeesport, Connie Rondinelli of Ross Township, Richard Jenkins of West Mifflin, Matthew Potter of McKeesport, and Holly Potter of McKeesport, also by 24 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  She was a former member of the Rainbow Girls and enjoyed her volunteer work for the Salvation Army.  Friends will be received in the Hunter Funeral Home, Inc., 1600 Coursin Street, McKeesport, PA  15132 on Friday, May 17, 2019 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.  A service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Doug Burns officiating.  Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.  The family suggests contributions to the Salvation Army.

Lerro, who passed away on March 3, 2006.  Sylvia is survived by her daughters Linda (Donald) Chapman of Liberty Borough and Jodi Staab of Elizabeth Twp.; her grandchildren Jarrett (Melanie), Tony, Shawn (Jackie), Nicole, Tammy (Jeff), and Brittany; her great-grandchildren Ava, Christian, Luca, Vico, Makayla, Gianna, and Sterling; her brother Greg Datig of California; and also many nieces and nephews, especially her nephew Craig Galick who helped immensely with her care.

Elinor Kramer, age 91 of Cumming, GA and formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019.  Born May 9, 1928 in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Morris and Bertha (Bergman) Calig.  Elinor worked with her husband, the late Alvin Kramer, as sales representatives for Leco Electric Co. and also as a court reporter and instructor for court reporters.  She is survived by her twin daughters Adele Caplan of Cumming, GA and Marcy (Richard) Ruben of Cumming, GA; her grandsons Adam (Amy nee Rosner) Caplan, Aaron (fiancee Lauren Fehl) Ruben, Justin (Jessica nee Effren) Caplan, and Zachary (fiancee Ema Alvarez) Ruben; her great-grandsons Ryan and Graham; and her great-granddaughters Jana and Daniella.  A private graveside service will be held at the convenience and request of her family at Beth Shalom Cemetery in Shaler Twp.

Elmer L. Tremont, 89, of Fort Myers, Florida, born on November, 26, 1929 in McKeesport, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2019. He was a graduate of and football letterman for the University of Miami, and a Veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean War.
 
He was a retired coach and educator for Cypress Lake High School in Fort Myers, where he coached the boys football and basketball teams and the girls basketball team. He was in the Lee County School Athletic Conference Hall of Fame and the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and the co-founder of Hillmyer-Tremont Foundation which provides scholarships to athletes. He loved his family, he enjoyed golfing, and was an avid University of Miami fan.

Edward R. Skuhrovec, age 72 of North Huntingdon, passed away peacefully in the home he grew up in, according to God's plans as the family had hoped for, on Wednesday, May 8, 2019.  Born March 12, 1947 in McKeesport, he was one of two sons, along with his brother Rudy, of Rudolph and Mildred (Pfiefer) Skuhrovec.  Edward was a music and sports lover from an early age.  As a member of the first graduating class of Port Vue-Liberty High School (now South Allegheny), he was in the band for 8 years, serving as head drummer for 5, and was a member of the 1965 WPIAL Section 14 championship baseball team.  After graduation, he began his career of fifty years, for US Steel at Homestead and Clairton, as a member of the United Steelworkers Union #s 1397 and 1557, and also as a member of the Boilermakers Union #154.

Rev. John Joseph Cuccaro, 68, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday May 4, 2019, in U.P.M.C. Presbyterian, Pittsburgh three weeks shy of his 40th Anniversary as a priest.

Born in Irwin, June 23, 1950, Father John, as he was affectionately called, was the only child of the late Angelo Joseph and Anna (Kochik) Cuccaro. A Priest of the Byzantine Catholic Archeparchy of Pittsburgh, Father John was the current Pastor of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, and the Administrator of Ascension Byzantine Catholic Church, Clairton.

Ordained on May 27, 1979, Father John served the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh at St. Michael, Sharon, PA, SS. Peter & Paul, Warren, Ohio, St. Mary, Morgantown, W. VA, St. Nicholas, Newtown, PA, St. Michael, Pleasant City, Ohio, Infant Jesus of Prague, Boardman, Ohio, Protection of Mary, Homer City, PA, Holy Cross, Coal Run, PA, St. Nicholas and Transfiguration, both in McKeesport, PA, St. John Chrysostom and Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, both in Pittsburgh, PA, St. Michael in Hermitage, PA, and SS. Joan Kemp Beissel

Joan Kemp Beissel passed away on May 7, 2019, at the age of 89. A lifelong resident of Elizabeth Township, she was born January 18, 1930, to the late Thomas and Mary Moore Dierker Kemp. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Donald E. Beissel, her twin sister, Jean Matezik, and her brother, Thomas Kemp. She is survived by her two daughters, Vickee Altman, and her husband Gary, of Uniontown, and Wendee Lindsey and her husband Randy of Elizabeth Township and her three grandchildren, Alan Lindsey, and wife Brittany, of Liberty Boro, Stephanie Altman of Raleigh, NC., and Abigail Altman of Baltimore, MD. 

She graduated from Clairton High School in 1947 and attended the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing where she obtained her license as a registered nurse. She completed her nursing education with a BSN from California University of Pennsylvania. She worked as a registered nurse at the McKeesport Hospital in the premature infant nursery, but perhaps is best remembered for her many years as a school nurse for the Elizabeth-Forward School District.

She and her husband Don enjoyed retirement by hosting pig roasts for their family and friends at their backyard swimming pool and by traveling throughout North America in their motor home, sometimes even wintering in southern climates. They also traveled to such places as Hawaii, Italy, England, Mexico and the Caribbean. A highlight was sailing through the Panama Canal.

Family and friends will be received at the S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6thStreet, Clairton, PA, 15025, on Friday, May 10, from 2 – 4 PM and 6 – 8 PM, a short memorial service will be held at 7:30pm with a repose to follow at the LochMon Tavern, 2510 Lincoln Boulevard, Elizabeth, PA., 15037.
