Martha Jane “Janie” Mendez, 69, of McKeesport, formerly a lifelong resident of Glassport, passed away at UPMC McKeesport on Sunday, July 2, 2017.  She was born February 9, 1948 to the late Skylar and Martha Finnegan Coddington of McKeesport.  Martha was a loving wife to her late husband of forty years, Romauldo Mendez.  She is survived by daughters, Mary (Donnie) Smith of Glassport, Tracy Moyer of Meadville, Jean Moyer of Glassport, Georgina (Dale) Humphries of Glassport; sons, Raymond Mendez of McKeesport, Randy Mendez of Glassport; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; brother, Skylar Coddington of Bedford; sisters, Anna Yeager of Glassport, Elsie Wiggins of Glassport, Linda Coddington of Glassport, Gloria Brown of Foster, Mary Arndt of McKees Rocks, and Sandra Yavoich of McKeesport.  Along with her parents and husband, Martha was preceded in death by brother, William Coddington; sisters, Matilda Yeager, Nancy Andrioli;  daughter, Petra Mendez; and parents who raised her David and Mary Jane Cottle. She enjoyed sewing, reading, crocheting, bingo, bible studies, computer games and was a lover of dogs.  Family and friends will be received on Thursday July 6, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm at E. C. Stephanie Andrea Crow, 69, of Clairton, formerly of Elizabeth, passed away in the presence of her family on June 22, 2017. She was born September 16, 1947 to the late Helen S. and Andrew Corrigan of McKees Rocks. Stephanie was the loving wife of the late Alan Crow. Stephanie enjoyed times at Yough Lake and the family camp. She loved her family and pets, who will sorely miss her charismatic wit and unique sense of humor. Stephanie left this world as she lived her life—on her own terms. She is survived by her brother, Michael Corrigan; her children, David (Judy) McCrum; Yvonne Firczak; Karl McCrum. Stephanie is also survived by her grandchildren, Brandon (Sarah) McCrum; Ryan (April) McCrum; Cody McCrum; Tyler McCrum; Brooke Firczak; Britney McCrum; Josiah McCrum; her great-grandchildren, cousins, and extended family. Betty J. Hollenbeck, 89, of West Mifflin went to be with her Lord and Saviour Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center.  She was born December 6, 1927 in McKeesport to the late Herman & Naomi Fairbaugh.  Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, W. Kenneth Hollenbeck, and son Dr. Thomas M. Hollenbeck.  She was a retired employee of Bell Telephone and Mon Yough Mental Health.  Betty is survived by daughter, Sue (David) Rigau of Norfolk, VA; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Hollenbeck of Lansdale, PA; brother, Robert (Fran) Fairbaugh of Sellersville, PA; longtime friend and companion, Kenneth Holmes of Dravosburg; 5 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  She was not only  a member of Dravosburg United Methodist Church for over 50 years, she was a Sunday School Teacher there as well for 40 years, a lay leader and sang in the choir.  Betty was an avid gardener, cook, baker, and especially enjoyed entertaining family and friends at her house.  Family and friends will be received Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 1 – 4 pm at I. George E. Anderson

George E. Anderson, 88, of Pittsburgh, PA, departed this life, peacefully, following a short illness, on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the HJ. Heinz Veteran's Community Living Center in Aspinwall, PA.  He was born December 25,1928 in Pittsburgh, to the late George R. Anderson and Elizabeth Lynch Anderson and step-mother, Mary L. Jones Anderson.  He graduated from Pittsburgh Public Schools, George Westinghouse High School in Homewood.  Upon graduation, George enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean War for three years.  Upon his Honorable Discharge from the army, George attended Carnegie Tech, studying to be a draftsman, while working part-time for the U.S. Postal Services, along with many other jobs.  George met and married his late wife Dolores C. Talson Anderson, and to this union, two daughters were born, Leslie Diane Florence, and Lynne Darcel.  George became a full-time employee of the U.S. Postal Services, working on the railroad mail delivery, Pittsburgh to Chicago delivery route for many years.  Later, until retirement, George was a supervisor at the Vista facility of the U.S. Postal Service.

Marcia Lee Unrath, of Jefferson Hills, passed peacefully April 4, 2017.  Born February 23, 1952, to the late Guy and Lucille Mills Lippzer.  Marcia is survived by her cherished sister Leslee (Rick) Hinkle, and loving nieces, Lindsey (Alex) Durrani and Jesse Hinkle.  Daughter-in-law of Marlene and the late William Unrath, devoted sister-in-law Lori Ann Bagley, the late Douglas Unrath, William Jr., Darrell (Laurie), Patrick "Sonny"(Jane) and many loving friends throughout the years.  Along with her treasured parents, she was preceded in death by her adoring husband Greg and their beloved dog, Lucky.  She was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School and West Virginia Wesleyan.  She was a humble, kind and giving soul.  Forever a lover of animals, she had a never-ending sweet tooth, and remembered every loved one with cards and gifts for every occasion. She was never blessed with children, but the children at Tender Care Learning Center were blessed by her compassionate heart.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Make a Wish Foundation or the Western PA Humane Society.  A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to S. Paul Vinton Kalp, 95, of Venetia, formerly of West Mifflin, passed away at home on Sunday March 12, 2017. He was born March 4, 1922 in Dravosburg to the late Ward and Margaret Berger Kalp. Paul was a loving husband, for 68 years, to the late Shirley Granger Kalp who passed away in 2013. He is survived by son, Richard Kalp of Brentwood; daughters, Karen (Mark) Wilds of Hanoverton, OH, Jean (Leo) Demeis of Venetia; sister, Nancy Shearer of Baltimore, MD; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.  Along with his parents and wife, Paul was preceded in death by sister, Eldora Fithian. He served in the US Marine Corp, retired from Westinghouse Electric where he was an Electrical Tester for 35 years, was a member of the Dravosburg United Methodist Church, a member of F&AM Masonic Lodge in McKeesport, and enjoyed tinkering with electrical inventions.  Arrangements have been entrusted to I. Anthony “Tony” Michael Salvador Jr., 89, of Dravosburg, formerly of Glassport, passed away on Sunday March 5, 2017.  He was born August 9, 1927 in Glassport to the late Anthony M. Sr. and Laura (Craig) Salvador.  He is survived by sons, Anthony M. (Lois) Salvador III of White Oak, Vincent G. (Kathy) Salvador of North Irwin, Howard G. (Lisa) Salvador of Boston, MA; daughters, Sharon A. Karch (Lucian) of Pembroke Pines, FL, Patricia L. Salvador (Charles) of McKeesport, Sara E. Salvador of Kenneth City, FL; significant other, Mary Ann Pici of Versailles; eleven grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.  Along with his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by wife, Anne M. (Laird) Salvador; brother, Howard Salvador; sisters, Ellen Tambella and Betty Corletti.  He enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 during WWII.  Upon discharge, he became a reservist and was reactivated during the Korean War. He was part of the Atlantic Fleet, during both periods of service, aboard the USS Currituck and USS Worcester where he was a storekeeper/trainer. Tony was a member of the Dravosburg United Methodist Church where he was a Trustee, usher, and member of the Methodist Men. He also enjoyed spending his leisure time ballroom dancing. He retired from Copperweld Steel Company in Glassport, was a member & past officer of United Steelworkers Union Local 1407, a past commander of American Legion “Burt Foster” Post 361 in McKeesport, and a member of American Legion Post 701 in White Oak. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 pm at I. M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 203 4th Street, Dravosburg,  PA   15034. Edward “Rebel” Lewis Kasyan, 79, of West Mifflin, formerly of Sebring, FL, passed away at Jefferson Medical Center on Monday, February 27, 2017. He was born July 19, 1937 to the late Pete and Helen Banko Kasyan. Edward was the loving life partner of 40 years to Betty Mae Bishop. He is survived by two sons, Joseph Kasyan of Bethel Park and Timothy Kasyan of West Mifflin, step daughters Deborah Bishop of Dravosburg, Pamela (George) Stoupis of Elizabeth, and Lynda (Tim) Nesiti of Dravosburg, grandchildren Danielle, Donald, Nikki, and George. Edward was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Michael Kasyan, and a sister, Margaret Jeffcoat. Edward formerly served as a member of the United States Air Force, as well as for 9 years as a police officer of the Dravosburg Police Department. He was also employed by Hamburg Bros. Electronics. He was born March 4, 1960, in McKeesport, to Ocie Jack Yarborough of Port Vue, and the late Janet Glasser Yarborough. Along with his father, he is survived by step-mother Sherry Yarborough of Port Vue; best friend, Ryan T. Gillespie of Glassport; brothers, Jeff Yarborough of Midland TX, Justin & A. J. Yarborough, both of Port Vue; and aunt, Annie Ruth Yarborough of SC. Along with his mother, Roy was preceded in death by sister, June Yarborough Ripple and uncle, Willard Yarborough.
