She is survived by her husband of 60 years Donald Lewis Byers Sr, daughter Sherry (Edward) Gasdick of Kissimmee, FL, and son Donald Lewis Byers Jr, of Versailles, grandchildren Kristen Marie Gasdick, Edward Gasdick Jr, Carl Alan Byers Jr, and Joshua Donald Byers, great-granddaughter Kayley Lynn Moon, brothers Robert (Anna) Mueller of Pittsburgh, Dale (Joyce) Mueller of Leeper, and Donald (Carol) Mueller of New Braunfels, TX, sister Diane (Greg) Drews and step-father Frank Zugell of North Tonawanda, NY, nieces, nephews and her dogs, Ozzy and Bugsy.

Doris M. Carlson, 84, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Greenock, died Wednesday, April 13, 2016. She was born August 28, 1931 in Harrisburg and was the daughter of Charles R. Moyer and Pearl Roos Moyer Pellechia. Doris graduated from John Harris High School and the Abington Memorial Hospital Dixon School of Nursing. Upon graduation, she found her way to Mckeesport, PA, where she met and eventually became the devoted and tolerant wife of Bill Carlson for 55 years until his passing August 25, 2012.

Mary Lou was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township and had worked for the former G.C. Murphy Co. He was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran and had received the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and the WWII Victory Medal. He was retired from the Port Authority of Allegheny County after 34 years of service.
