Amy T. Pushinsky, 68 of Harrison City, formerly of North Huntingdon died January 26,2024 at her home. She was born September 21, 1955 in Braddock, Pa., a daughter of the late Daniel C. and Marjorie A. Thornton. Amy enjoyed camping, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and cross stitch but most especially her grand babies. She was a 1973 graduate of Norwin Senior High School. She was formerly employed by Cleveland Brothers as a collection agent. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay, two brothers, Daniel T and Lawrence Thornton. She is survived by one daughter Marlena Cunha (Carl), sister, Rita Simko (Joe) grandchildren, Austin James Pushinsky , Emily Marie , Paige Marie, Carl Ryan Cunha Jr and Daniel Ryan Hysong. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, Pa on Monday from 3-7 P.M. JoAnn A. Rebosky, of North Huntingdon, died January 26, 2024 at her home. She was born July 20, 1934 in Braddock, a daughter of the late Walter and Agnes (Wargo) Kopaczynski. She was a member of St. Agnes Church. Prior to her retirement, was employed as a baker at Scozio’s Bakery. She loved shopping and baking and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James Rebosky, daughter Cynthia Swenson, brother Walt, and sister Patricia. She is survived by sons James A. Rebosky, Jr. and wife Jamie, and Jeffrey Rebosky; daughter Tiffany Rebosky; grandchildren Brittani (Nick), Cody (Rachel), Savannah, Casey (Dallas), Cassandra, and Christina; several great-grandchildren; brother Thomas Kopaczynski; sisters Marianne Bowser and Janie Kopaczynski. Lauren R. Cousins, age 94 of Monroeville, died Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at LGAR Health and Rehabilitation, Turtle Creek. He was born February 23, 1929 in Sharon, PA, a son of the late John and Edna (Anderson) Cousins. Lauren was an active member of the Norwin Church of the Nazarene. He graduated from Mercer High School, Grove City College, and received an honorary doctorate from Eastern Nazarene College where he served as a trustee for 32 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives Alberta in 1956 and June in 2010, brother John, sisters Patricia and Donna Lou. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Surviving are his, three sons, Douglas and his wife Joyce, David, Dennis and his wife Cassy, one daughter Laurene Timmons, eight grandchildren, Heather Drolet (James), Jennifer Magnuson (Ryan), Anna Warheit (Brent), Michael Timmons (Tina), Jonathan Timmons (Erin), Matthew Timmons (Brianna), Shane Anderson, and Lucy Anderson; twelve great grandchildren, Perrin, Mercy, Declan, Owen, Luna, Chauncey, Clara, Georgia, Ryan, Eden, Peyton, Maverick, and two on the way. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Friday 3-7 PM. Albert Dale Dick Sr., 90, of North Huntingdon, PA, passed away at home on Sunday, January 21st, 2024. He was born in Wilkinsburg, PA on November 21, 1933, to the late Herbert and Georgia (Buell) Dick. He graduated from North Huntingdon High School in 1953. He loved sports, and enjoyed being a part of the football, wrestling, and baseball teams. Upon graduation, he joined the Army as a paratrooper, serving a period of his time stationed in Greenland. He had many jobs throughout his life including; paper delivery, truck driver, dock worker, painter, and most recently custodian of Norwin School District. He retired from Norwin after 25 years. He was a life-long member of Christ Lutheran Church, and enjoyed spending his Sunday’s as an Elder there. Those that knew him would say he was a character, always ready to tell his stories to anyone willing to listen. He was an animal lover, who enjoyed sharing his meals with the dogs, and having his cat sit in his lap for hours at a time while watching sports on TV. He also loved playing cards, going to see high school musicals, meeting new people, and traveling with the AARP. Surviving Albert are his children, son Albert (Shelia) Dick, daughter Janet (Barry) Conley, his beloved cat, Herbie, his grandchildren Kimberly Conley, Madison Dick, Allison Dick, Brian Dick and brother Jim Dick. Besides his parents, Albert is preceded in death by his wife Louise, and siblings Herbert T., C. William, Mary Ann and MAry Ann. Friends will be received at the James W. Barbara L. Abel, age 79, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024 at William Penn Care Center in Jeannette. She was born in, Cuba, New York, a daughter of the late Bernard and Louise Griffin Torpey. She graduated from Portville Central School, Portville, NY class of 1963. She was a member of Rivers Edge United Methodist Church in Portville, NY and a past member of the Portville American Legion Auxilary Post 814. Prior to her retirement, she was an office clerk for Gateway Diesel. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and sisters, was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, enjoyed reading, camping, and traveling. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert, daughter Catharine Guthrie, and sisters Beverly Van Curen, Bonnie Willard, Bernie Moore, and Louise Torpey . She is survived by her sons, Jeffery Platt and his wife, Michelle, Jody Platt and his wife, Ashley, Michael Abel and his wife, Trisha; daughter Paula Driscoll and her husband, Bill; grandchildren Kiel Platt and his wife Chelsey, Paige Johnson and her husband Mike Baldino, Kimberly Driscoll, William Driscoll, Colton Platt, Eliana Platt; great-grandchild Callen Baldino; sisters Joyce Gagliardo and her husband Saverio, Lorie Henton and her husband Chuck, Dorothy Kinney and her husband Bruce. Glenda Stansak, age 81 of Irwin, went home to be with Jesus on January 18th, 2024. She was born on April 15, 1942, in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Glenn and Jean Leonard Eicher. She was a graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1960. Glenda retired from the North Huntingdon Giant Eagle after 15 years of employment. She was a member of Herminie United Methodist Church, enjoyed baking for family & friends, and was an avid listener of soft jazz music. Glenda loved to spend time with her grandchildren whom she was endlessly proud of. In addition to her parents, Glenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry Stansak. She is survived by daughters Lynne (Mark) Lesnick, Sharon (Todd) Johns, sisters Karen (Chuck) Wichrowski, Barbara ( the late Everett) Brake, grandchildren Jessica (Austin) Rahn, Michaela Johns, T.J. John D. Stokum, age 78 of Irwin, passed away on January 19, 2024 at Hempfield Manor. He was born on January 12, 1946 in Greensburg, a son of the late Clarence Jacob and Hazel Alberta Mathias Stokum. John was a 1966 graduate of Jeannette High School and a veteran in the US Army where he served as a Corporal in the Vietnam War. Prior to his retirement, John was employed by Metal Finishing Industries. He was a member of Norwin Christian Church, an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening, maintaining the yard, and loved working on his tan. His favorite vacation destination was Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Every summer, John looked forward to visiting his family at the annual reunion. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sisters, Betty DiNardo, Lois Stokum, Lillian Tocco, Delores Couchenour, Ilene Anderson, Genevieve Klingensmith, and brothers Thomas Stokum and Clarence Jacob Stokum, Jr.. John is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Janet Shields Stokum, son J.C. (Laura) Stokum, daughter Keri (Pete) Radford, sister Charlotte Saint, brother Paul Joseph (Judy) Stokum, grandchildren Lauren Radford, Ella Radford, Kayla Stokum, and Landon Stokum, sister-in-law Roxanne Stokum, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and his canine companion, Bailey. Lynn Ann Balego, 77 years young from North Irwin passed away Monday January 15,2024. She was born August 8, 1946 in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy Lukehart Divelbiss. Lynn was a graduate of Norwin High School and Gale Institute. She also attended Ball State University and the University of Notre Dame.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Irwin. Lynn worked many years as an administrative assistant within various companies including the Norwin Chamber of Commerce and Shuster's. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Doug Divelbiss and her sister, Nancy Divelbiss. She was the loving wife to Chuck Balego, beloved mother of Tye (Jesse), Tawnie (Brian) and Tarra (Bill) and dearly loved by her grandchildren, Cameron, Chantall, CJ, Ciersten, Autumn, Bella, Addison, Sydnee, Gabby and her precious pup Jazzy.
There will be no public visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held at The Rose Bar and Grille, 2811 Lincoln Way, White Oak on Saturday, January 27 from 1-3 P.M. James W. Patricia A. Kowalsky, age 84 of Wendel, Pa, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Independence (Excela) Hospital. She was born September 4, 1939 in Westmoreland County and resided there her entire life. She was the oldest daughter of the late Anthony J.Andrews and the late Eleanor (Helen) Andrews Kolikowski of Wendel, PA. She was retired from the First National Bank in Herminie where she served as a teller for many years. She enjoyed oldies, music, and spending time with her friends, "The Golden Girls." In the summertime , she enjoyed planting her flowers. She was a member of several oldies music groups including, P.O.R.C.C and S.O.C.. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John S. Kowalsky in 2015 and a brother, Edward Andrews of Mt. Wolf. She was the loving mother to Antoinette "Toni" Dezorzi (Ted) of Candler, AZ and, Leslie Brough (Tim) of North Huntingdon. She was the very proud grandmother of 4 grandsons, Christopher Dezorzi, Keith Dezorzi, Mason Brough, and Trevor Brough. She is survived by her sibling William Andrews (Brockway, Pa and Rose Lapina (John) of Irwin, sister-in-laws, Marica Andrews of Mt. Wolf, Pa, Agnes Gabonay of West Newton and Barbara Bracovich of Orange City,Fl and many nieces and nephews.
