Anna Woods, 92, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, December 27, 2021 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville.  She was born October 7, 1929 in North Braddock, a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Brandle) Lutz.  Prior to her retirement, Anna was the owner/operator of George Woods Garage. 

She was a devoted wife, and the best Mom and Grandmother anyone could dream of having.  Ann loved life and everyone that came into her life unconditionally.  She loved and took care of her family by any means possible.  She had an infectious smile and a feisty personality. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Woods; sons-in-law, Eugene Moose and Jack Muzzie; brothers, Joseph, Herman and Paul Lutz; sisters, Elsie Rance and Mary Zortich.  She is survived by her son, George B. (Leda) Woods; daughters, Linda A. Moose, Deborah M. Muzzie, Heidi L. (Rod) Truitt; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; five step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren.

Barry Fredric Barnett

Barry Fredric Barnett, 85, of White Oak, left this world peacefully at home on Sunday, December 26, 2021.
Born on May 22, 1936 in Duquesne, PA, Barry was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Fedor) Barnyak. He shared 53 years of marriage with the rock and love of his life, Flo (Kolton), and was the beloved father of children Joy (Tim) Desmond, Barry (Kelly) Barnett, and Kristy (Todd) Alexander.
A veteran of the United States Air Force, he was a former engineer with Westinghouse Nuclear Division in Monroeville, a founding and active member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish and a volunteer at Redstone Highlands Senior Living in North Huntingdon. He was an avid Jeopardy! fan, loved crossword and number puzzles, Pittsburgh's pro and college sports teams, working out and traveling; most of all, he loved spending time with his family and furry friends, Shadow and Raven.
In addition to his wife and children, his memory will be cherished by grandchildren Brady, Brenna, Kaden, Tyler, Liam, Beckham and Gabe; brothers Robert (Marion) Barnett, William (Irene) Barnett and Earl Barnyak; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Eleanor Shaw.
Barry was an example of what we should all strive to be--a kind, loyal and loving human being.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held on February 4, 2022 at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 200 Leger Road, N. Huntingdon, PA. Franklin C. Thompson, 92, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at UPMC East, Monroeville.  He was born August 2, 1929 in McKeesport, a son of the late Frank and Gladys (Cooper) Thompson.  Prior to his retirement, Franklin worked in Human Resources for West Penn Hospital and was a veteran of the US Army during the Korean War Era.  He enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, refinishing furniture, listening to opera, feeding and watching birds and traveling extensively.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Joan Brown; son, David Thompson; and brother, Jan Thompson.  He is survived by his wife, Rose (Proch) Jennette Thompson; daughters, Lynn Cross and her husband, Jeffrey, Tammy Esip and her husband, Brian; sons, Bill Jennette and his wife, Debbie, Tim Jennette and Ellen; sister-in-law, Pat Thompson; grandchildren, Matt (Kearstyne) Cross, Kendra (Matt) Nicholas, Cody Jennette; and special cousins.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the James W. Nathan Christian Thorne

Nathan Christian Thorne 32 of Irwin, PA died peacefully at Forbes Hospital after waging a valiant battle with Covid-19. He was so brave, strong, and courageous. God called Nathan home from this battle to Heaven on Monday the 20th to celebrate Christmas with a brand, new body and loved ones who preceded him in death. He was born on August 28, 1989 at Jeannette Hospital. He is survived by his mum, Leslie Proctor Savage (Michael) and his father, Larry John Thorne (Jaci), one brother, Luke Michael Savage and one sister, Gabrielle Thorne. His grandparents, C. Ray and Eileen Proctor, Alfred and Reta Thorne, step grandparents Nancy and William Wassell and a step grandmother Jackie Gesler. A beautiful fiancée Marja Yasa, Aunts and Uncles: Kellee Birnstiel, Dwayne Thorne (Sheri), Terri Garrick (Brent), Tracey Lane (Scott), John Gesler, Jr. and a herd of cousins. He is preceded in death by his step grandfathers, Thomas Savage and John Gesler. Nathan is a 2008 graduate of Norwin High School. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Pennsylvania in May 2021. Friends and Family will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Wednesday, from 3:00 pm – 8:30 pm, followed by a service officiated by Pastor Chuck Owston. Private Interment. He was born September 15, 1954 in McKeesport, a son of the late Paul V. and Olga (Yerbanovic) Lukart. Prior to his retirement, Paul was a diesel mechanic for Waste Management and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Prior to her retirement, Margaret was a payroll clerk for Kennywood Park, a member of St. Agnes Parish and she enjoyed playing cards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Gamrat; son, Edward Gamrat, and brother, John Belan. She is survived by her son, David Gamrat; daughter, Alberta Mamrose; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Marsha J. Ignaczak, 77, of North Huntingdon, passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at Shadyside Hospital. She was born March 5, 1944 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late John and Marcella (Haberstock) Doring. Marsha was a member of Circleville United Methodist Church. She was a former Girl Scout leader, president of Hartford Heights P.T.A, Bible School teacher, Drill Team President, Strings President. Prior to her retirement, Marsha was a wedding cake decorator for Artistic Cake Decorating for 35 years and a Travel Agent with Four Seasons Travel. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 and a half years, C. James Ignaczak in May of 2020, sister, Carol Gullie and her husband, Nicholas. She is survived by daughters, Alaina Marie (Ignaczak) Jacobs and her husband, John and Cindy Lee Ignaczak and her significant other Johnny; grandson, Anthony Johnston and his wife, Stacy; and great-granddaughter, Molly Johnston. Bruno Valenti, 91, of Broomfield CO, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Lafayette, CO.  He was born, December 14, 1929 in Irwin, a son of the late Peter and Desolina (Galozi) Valenti.  Prior to his retirement, Bruno was a driver salesman for Dolly Madison and a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean War Era.  He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Biddle Vets and a lifelong member of Circleville Vol. Fire Dept. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Hamilton Valenti and second wife, Elizabeth S. "Betty" Kessel Valenti.  He is survived by his two daughters, Marcia Rose and Jill Valenti; brother, John Valenti and his wife, Patricia; and grandson, James Rose.

Klara Horvath Kovacs, 94, of North Huntingdon, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021 at Walden's View.  She was born, May 31, 1927 in Dunavecse, Hungary, a daughter of the late Albert and Erzsebet (Daranyi) Horvath.  Prior to her retirement, Klara was owner - operator of Straw Pump Auto Body Panels and a member of West Hempfield Presbyterian Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Kovacs, son-in-law, Leonard Matta; sisters, Zsuzsa and Gizella; brothers, Zsigmond and Imre from Hungary; and brother, Albert of N. Huntingdon.  She is survived by her daughter, Marta Kovacs Matta (Terry Baker); granddaughter, Lindsey Matta (Matthew Corrie); sister, Jolan of New Zealand and Amal of Hungary; great-granddaughter, Sadie Faith Corrie; and nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews here and abroad.  There will be no visitation.  Interment will be private in Brush Creek Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners.  Arrangements made by the James W. Anselm, 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Arden Courts, Monroeville.  She was born June 17, 1938 in Jefferson Borough, a daughter of the late John and Jean (Farber) Wallace.  Prior to her retirement, Irene was a bank teller for Clairton National Bank and various savings and loans as well as secretarial work.  She was a longtime member of St. Agnes Parish and  enjoyed aerobics, cross country traveling, fishing, bowling, camping and water skiing.   She is survived by her husband, Raymond Anselm; son, Clete Anselm and his wife, Lisa; daughter, Kristin Stanchik and her husband, John; sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Vansickle, Patricia Mollenauer; grandchildren, Kayleigh and Aubrey Anselm, Jacob and Megan Stanchik.  Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Audrey Jean Dooley, 92, formerly of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Golden Heights Personal Care Home, Irwin. She was born July 22, 1929, in Circleville, a daughter of the late John and Helen (Kondy) Breon.
Audrey and her family enjoyed many years of traveling and camping together, most often in the Rehoboth and Bethany Beach areas of Delaware. She loved playing cards, hosting parties and cookouts with family and friends, spending time outdoors, and visiting with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Dooley, and son, William Dooley. She is survived by her daughters Carolyn Remai and her husband, William, and Kathleen Remai and her husband, Richard; daughter-in-law Barbara Dooley; grandchildren Kelley Thompson (Pete), Erin Palko (Tom), Megan Remai, Adam Remai, and Justin Remai; great-grandchildren Cody, Cameron, Benjamin, Cayden, and Lucy; and great-great-grandchildren Alexander and Kai. "Dru" Barber, 91, of North Huntingdon, passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021.  She was born June 6, 1930 in Clearfield, PA, a daughter of the late Howard and Marie Hubler Milliron.  Prior to her retirement, Dru worked for Valley Honda in the clerical department and was a former leader and board member of the Girls Scouts.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Barber in 2013; brother, Arthur Milliron; and son-in-law, Robert Lloyd.  She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Lloyd and Tracy Dogherty (Jeff); sister, Joyce Green and her husband, Richard; four grandchildren, Megan Norman (Chris), Michael (Amy) Fry, Madeline (Dustin) Boner, Eric J.
