Justine M. (Horgas) Kozak, 84, of North Huntingdon, (Formerly of Duquesne) died peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in Golden Heights Personal Care Home, Penn Twp. Born in Duquesne, May 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the Late Joseph and Mary (Vesonder) Kozak. Mrs. Kozak was a member of Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, West Mifflin. Beloved wife of the Late Albert Kozak, she is survived by her loving children, Barry (Kathy) Kozak and Donna (Chet) Palesko; six grandchildren, Alan Palesko (Amy Nicks), Amy Lujan (Marcos), Lauren Ray (Dustin), Nicholas Kozak (Alexandra), Daniel Kozak and David Kozak; five great-grandchildren, Owen, Talia, Justine, Jackson and Max. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Tarczy and Clara Bodnar.

Milan Samudosky, 87, of West Mifflin, fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born in Czechoslovakia, March 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Michael and Anna (Vasko) Samudovsky. Mr. Samudosky was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne; a retired equipment operator of the former Continental Can Corporation, West Mifflin; and a proud U. S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. An Avid fisherman, Mr. Samudosky also ran a Fishing Charter on Lake Erie. He is survived by three sons, Gary Samudosky, John (Pamela) Samudosky, and Vincent Samudosky; three grandchildren, Brittany ad Corey Samudosky and Julianne Moore; three great grandchildren, Archer, Theodore and Ruby. Mr Samudosky was also preceded in death by a brother Michael Samudosky.

Timothy R. "Dr. Rock" Beal Sr., 64, of Forward Twp., died peacefully at home on Sunday, October 27, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 17, 1955, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late George A. and Elizabeth (Lopota) Beal. Mr. Beal was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, and a retired Maintenance Department employee of the former Duquesne Works, U.S. Steel Corporation. He was also a former organist and drummer of Christ Lutheran Church in Duquesne, owner of Sharon's Pizza Shop in Duquesne, and was happiest when he was disc jockeying at weddings and parties.

Born in Duquesne, October 7, 1927, he was the son of the Late John and Catherine (Cipkala) Cherpak. Mr. Cherpak was a member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, a retired Bar Mill Hooker at the Former U.S. Steel Corporation, Duquesne Works, and a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, Korean Conflict. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Born in McKeesport, September 26, 1943, she was the daughter of the Late Adrian and Helen Jean (Trasp) Burge. She was a member of Resurrection Roman Catholic Church in West Mifflin. Beloved wife of Robert Morgan. She is also survived by a son Richard (Kimberly) Morgan of Murrysville, a daughter Roberta (Robert) Moses of Carlisle, a sister Colleen Sommerville, two grandchildren, Kyle Joseph Morgan and Connor Michael Segina. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and an uncle, Jim Burge.

On Tuesday, October 15, 2019, Elsie Kolcun, Dunmore, PA formerly of Duquesne, PA, passed away peacefully at the age of 83. Born in Duquesne, PA she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Chabala) Vasilisin. Married to the late George Kolcun, whom she shared 53 devoted years with before his passing in 2009. They relocated in 2003 to be near their daughter Sharon and her family. Elsie was a lifelong member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne and St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, Dunmore, PA. She was retired from the Greek Catholic Union claims department. Prior to relocation she was a very active member of her church and District One of the Greek Catholic Union. Elsie passed the time crocheting, especially baby afghans as gifts, which many new babies have enjoyed. She loved to cook and bake for her grandchildren, the loves of her life.

Martin "Marty" D. Yurchison, 75, of Champion, PA, died Tuesday, October 1, 2019, in U.P.M.C. East, Monroeville. Born in McKeesport, September 18, 1944, he was the son of the late Francis X. and Michaelyn (Radzievich) (Rogers) Yurchison. Mr. Yurchison was a member of Christ the Light of the World Parish, Duquesne, and a self employed contractor. Beloved husband of the late Diane (McDermitt) Yurchison, he is survived by three sons, Gary Yurchison, Paul (Elizabeth) Yurchison, and Matthew (Danielle) Yurchison, four grandchildren, Andrew, Katelyn, Joseph, and Emily, nieces, nephews, and special companion, Kathy Miller. In addition to his parents and wife he was also preceded in death by a son, Mark Yurchison and three brothers, Bernard Rogers, Francis and Ronald Yurchison.

Robert P. Holuka, 73, of West Mifflin, originally from Duquesne, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2019. Born March 29, 1946 to the late John and Mary (Magdich) Holuka. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, John. Robert is survived by his former wife, Karen (Lunz) Holuka.
He is already terribly missed by his daughter, Amy Tricia Graham. She will never forget her childhood memories of having "feet fights" on the couch, him allowing her to put barrettes and bows in what hair he had left, watching boxing with him and of course she still has and uses the toy box he made for her many decades ago. She will be forever so proud of him and very gratefull she inherited his Bob Vila and MacGyver skills and his quirkiness.

Mr. Evans was a faithful member of SS Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Duquesne, where he served as Cantor from 1972 until 2014. He also was a member of the Byzantine Catholic Archieparchial Choir of Pittsburgh, a retired Design Draftsman for the former U.S. Steel Corporation, Homestead Works, and a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army. beloved husband of the Late Helen Mihalov Evans, he is survived by his loving children Daniel J. Evans (Elaine), Pamela A. Donkin (Wayne) and Patricia M. Weidman (Dennis); eight Grandchildren, Jennifer M. Magee (Shawn), Gregory D. Evans (Sarah), Nicholas J. Christopher J. Pastor, 38, of McKeesport, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2019 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. Born February 7, 1981, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Greg and Susan Ballough Pastor. Chris worked in the airline industry as a mechanic. Besides his parents he is also survived by his paternal grandparents, John and Evelyn Pastor, a brother, Matthew Pastor, a sister, Allison (Elliot) Halley, two nephews, Sabastion Halley and Jackson Pastor, two nieces, Aubriana Halley and Kaylin Pastor, Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 1, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., Richford and Commonwealth Ave., Duquesne. Born in Duquesne, August 27, 1923, she was the daughter of the Late Michael and Mary (Ivanov) Dojcak. She was a member of St. Michael's Orthodox Church, McKeesport. Michael J. Uhren, 92, of West Mifflin passed away into the arms of the Lord our God on May 31, 2018. Mike was born October 18, 1926 in Duquesne, PA to George and Elisabeth Uhren.
Mike served in the Asiatic Pacific Theater during World War II. When he came home he was a mill worker, house builder and butcher before becoming a mailman, which he did for over 40 years. More importantly, when he came home, he went to Kennywood one day and freeloaded some French Fries from a gorgeous woman from Homestead named Helen Bakota. They would spend the next 70 years virtually inseparable. Mike is survived by his wife Helen (Bakota) of West Mifflin, son Greg Uhrlen (Kara) of South Fayette and granddaughters Kayla and Juliana Uhrlen of South Fayette. Mike was fearless and absolutely adored his granddaughters Kayla and Juliana. They were his pride and joy!
