Patrick J. Evans, age 71 of North Huntingdon and formerly of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital.  Born March 27, 1952 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Edward E. and Virginia (Calvert) Evans.  After graduating from California University of Pennsylvania, Patrick was a successful businessman working in sales for Consolidated Graphics Communications for 45 years and was a co-founder of Mount Vernon Healthcare assisted living facilities in Elizabeth Township and South Park.  He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in North Huntingdon. For Pat, life was a celebration and family meant everything to him.  He loved to travel with his family (especially to Hilton Head and Disney World), to attend his grandchildren’s sporting events and performances, and to dance with his truly beloved late wife of 46 years, Barbara K. (Kish) Evans, who he now joins. In his spare time, he also enjoyed running. Patrick will be remembered as a man who loved to laugh and have a good time.  He always made sure that everyone was taken care of and he would do anything for anyone (but especially for his family).  He never missed a chance to tell you that he loved you.  He is survived by his children Laura (Kevin) Ward of Gibsonia, Brian (Theresa) Evans of North Huntingdon, Maggie (Brian) Carlton of North Huntingdon, and Elizabeth (Adam) Holy of Wexford, his grandchildren (to whom he was lovingly referred to as “Bubba”) Benjamin and Zachary Ward, Katelyn and Madelyn Evans, Miles Carlton, and Avery Holy; his brothers Edward (Jean) Evans of Chicago, Michael (Camille) Evans of Upper St. Clair, and Thomas (Mary) Evans of Rostraver Twp.; and also cousins, nieces and nephews.

Leo Letterine, age 91 of North Huntingdon died February 1, 2024 at Excela Westmoreland Hospital. He was born January 16, 1933 in Huey, PA, a son of the late Guido and Mildred Finotti Letterine. Leo was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement, was employed by Westinghouse Electric as a Manager of International Sales from 1956-1991. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother Jean and brother Tony Letterine. He is survived by his wife Joan Medved Letterine; sons Paul and Denny Letterine; daughter Marcia Letterine; grandchildren Derek and Olivia; and sister Martha Garden (Randy). Services will be private. Chuck G. Demorest, Sr. age 63 of Westmoreland City died February 1, 2024 at his home. He was born April 23, 1960 in Jeannette, a son of the late Wilbert J. Demorest, Sr. and Anna Louise Pollard. He was a graduate of Penn Trafford High School. Prior to his retirement, was employed as a welder for Holtec in Turtle Creek. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, enjoyed going to the casino, and was a huge wrestling fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Marvin “Bud” Demorest. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Peggy Shaffer Demorest; son Charlie Demorest (Kayla); daughters Tanya Richards (Michael), and Juanita Bothell (Jay); grandchildren Kristin, Joshua, Jacob, Cash, and Carter; brother Bill Demorest; sisters Adela Senica, Charlene Kerlin (Robert), and Carrie Ruzyc; and numerous nieces and nephews. Timothy Edward Quinlan, age 78 of North Huntingdon, PA, died January 31, 2024 at UPMC East surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 29, 1946 to the late Albert H. and Millicent M. (Sieburg) Quinlan of Pine Township. He graduated from Richland High School class of 1963 and earned his bachelor's degree from Indiana University of PA before completing graduate work through the US Steel/Case Western Reserve University Business Program. A United States Army veteran, Captain Quinlan served with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam earning the Bronze Star. Prior to retirement in 2004, he was employed as a Production and Continuous Improvement Supervisor, Safety Engineer, and Accounting Manager for US Steel throughout the Mon Valley for over 30 years where he volunteered as a mentor with Junior Achievement. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Daria Riesberg. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dr. Audrey (Manzlak) Quinlan; a daughter Tara (Bill) Willenbrock of VA; a son, Daniel (Deanna) Quinlan of Cranberry; three grandsons, Matthew and Ryan Quinlan and Owen Willenbrock; a brother, Michael (Lynn) Quinlan of SC, and two nephews, Nathan M. and Timothy R. Quinlan. An avid sports fan, he was a proud season-ticket holder of the Steelers and was honored in 2021 to be invited to participate in the on-field pregame Terrible Towel activities. He also enjoyed surf fishing in Rodanthe and Nags Head on the Outer Banks of NC. As requested, there will be no visitation. Anna Marie Rymarowicz, 92, of East McKeesport passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at St. Anne’s Home in Greensburg. She was born September 25, 1931, to the late Blanch (Olszewski) and John Wegrzynek. She was the loving wife of 54 years to the late Henry Rymarowicz (2009). She was the last of her generation and was preceded in death by her sister, Jane Miskanic and brothers Stanley, Steve and Sam. She is survived by her children, Gary (Daisy) Rymarowicz, Gregory (Betty Jean) Rymarowicz, Donna (Jeffrey) Grott, Steven (Deanne) Rymarowicz, and sister in laws Eileen Rymarowicz and Linda Wegrzynek. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Anna was a 38-year volunteer with the meals on wheels program at Linway Church in North Versailles and a faithful member of St. Joseph the Worker parish in Wilmerding.

Dennis C. Shaffer, 73 of North Huntingdon peacefully went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 31, 2024 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital. He was born October 27, 1950 in Punxsutawney, a son of the late Robert and Ruth Smith Shaffer. He was a member of Calvary Assembly Church. He was a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in engineering. He enjoyed NASCAR, was an avid Pittsburgh and Penn State sports fan, WWII aviation buff, interested in working on model airplanes, enjoyed traveling with Betty, and spending time with his family and friends. Prior to his retirement, was employed as a machinist for Jennison Corporation in Carnegie. He was preceded in death by his father and first wife Elaine. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Betty Collier Idler Shaffer; sons Michael Shaffer (Gretchen) and Ken Shaffer (April); daughters Brenda Shaffer, Katrina Jamnik (Brian), Jessica Parsons (Kenny), and Ericka Idler; “adopted” daughter Rachel Wilson; grandchildren Nate, Ryan, Alana, Justus, Juliana, Rosey, Melody, Zachory, Tobey, Melina, Elijah, and Sydney; sister Susan Wadrose (Pete). There will be a memorial service at a later date to be announced at Calvary Assembly Church in Irwin. James W. Suzanne McClure, age 77 of North Huntingdon died January 31, 2024 at Brookdale Murrysville. She was born September 15, 1946 in Irwin, a daughter of the late Edward and Ethel Bilak Zurich. Suzanne was a member of St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church in Monroeville. She enjoyed maintaining friendships, traveling and was a role model to many. Suzanne lit up a room when she entered. She was a fashion icon who enjoyed organizing, decorating and volunteering in Irwin. She was the loving Aunt to Greg Zurich and his wife Maria and their son Gino Zurich. She is survived by one brother, Edward Zurich, the Kovac cousins, Zoe, Jeff, Lori and Lynn, the Bilak cousins Mark , Shawn, Terri and numerous other cousins, longtime friends, Bonnie, Pat, Jane, Ken, the Dupree's and the DeLallo's. Elaine M. (Comer-Powell) Suranovich, 79, of Port Vue, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024. She was born July 27, 1944 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth "Betty" (O'Rourke) Comer.  She was the wife of the late Steven Suranovich, Sr., who passed away October 10, 2005. Elaine was a member of Mary, Mother of God, St. Patrick Worship Site and a former member of Sts. Joachim and Ann Church, St. Eugene (the former St. Mark Church) in Liberty Boro. She worked for many years as a medical secretary for Health America. Elaine was a very religious person and loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She will be greatly missed.

Betty was a member of Prayer Time Cathedral in White Oak. She enjoyed ceramics, traveling with her beloved husband, Robert, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister Ruth Wesley. She is survived by her husband Robert T, sons Robert Removchik and Randy (Stacy) Removchik, daughters Deborah Rice Johnson (Blair), Renee Smith (Chuck), grandchildren Katie Removchik, Alyssa Cordera (Myka), Tracy Rice, Kristi Rice, Kenley Johnson, Aiden Johnson, Haley Kunkle (Gage), and Hunter Smith, great grandchildren Jovi, Jaide, Emmah, Spencer, and Fraya. Franklin "Butch" Edward Heath, Jr., age 79, of McKeesport, died January 27, 2024, at the Reformed Presbyterian Home. Born December 7, 1944, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Franklin Sr. and Edith (Rishell) Heath.

Franklin joined the Job Corps and was stationed in Bar Harbor, Maine, to work in the Forestry Division. After returning to the McKeesport area for a while, he moved to San Antonio, Texas and eventually moving back to his hometown. He was employed by Dennys in West Mifflin for almost 25 years. Franklin enjoyed watching a wide variety of movies, especially Westerns and Horror. He also liked listening to country and jazz music.
