Elmer Edward Pastories, age 73, of McKeesport, died Saturday, November 20, 2021. He was born in McKeesport on September 7, 1948 and is the son of the late Elmer James and Laura Domino Pastories.  He is the husband of the late Patricia McDowell Pastories, who died on June 13, 2018. He was a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and earned one Bronze Star, one Silver Star, and two Purple Hearts. He was employed as a truck driver for Envirotrol for many years.

Kane Regional Center - GlenHazel.  Born December 7, 1928 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Julia (Demko) Ockay.  The former bar manager of the Holiday Inn in West Mifflin, Alice was also a former secretary for US Steel's Christy Park Works.  She was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish - St. Patrick's Church and the CFU Lodge #146 of Versailles and its Ladies' Club.  Besides her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her siblings: Rose, Cyril, Method, and Andrew Ockay.

Roderick Phillip Sullivan Sr., age 95, of Elizabeth, passed away on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Concordia of Cabot. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 36 years as a clerk and supervisor in Elizabeth, Charleroi and Library and retired as postmaster in West Newton. He was a charter member and treasurer of the former Mon-Postal Federal Credit Union in Elizabeth and was on the board of Tri Boro Federal Credit Union in Munhall. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus 4th Degree of Elizabeth, and was a member of St. Joachim and Anne Parish, St. Michael Church, in Elizabeth Twp. where he served as a eucharistic minister. Rod is a Navy veteran, serving during World War II, and was a member of American Legion Alonzo Weigel Post 553 of Elizabeth. Born August 17, 1926 in Elizabeth, he was a son of the late James and Anna (McNeil) Sullivan and husband of 61 years to the late Phoebe (Withers) Sullivan. He is survived by daughters, Nancy Lee (Michael) Corey of Strongsville, OH and Susan (Paul) Austin of Lake George, NY; sons, Roderick P. (Kathryn) Sullivan Jr. of Chester Springs, Daniel W. (LuAnn) Sullivan of Ashland, OH, Dr. Patrick J. (Mary Anne) Sullivan of Cheswick and Terrence C. (Mary) Sullivan of Strongsville, OH; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Matibe, 83, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Hempfield Manor.  She was born October 8, 1938 in Braddock, daughter of the late Michael and Rose (Krivansky) Cupak.  Prior to her retirement, Rosemary was a licensed practical nurse for Caritas Christi - Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill and a member of Paintertown Lutheran Church.  She enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano and volunteering at her church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Richard and Jeffrey Matibe.  She is survived by her husband, Robert H. Matibe; son, Daniel Matibe and his wife, Yong Cha; daughters, Cynthia Caninzun and Suzanne Matibe; sister, Shirley Caulfield; grandchildren, Leeza, Aaron, Christopher, Michael, Diana, Amanda (Ben), Courtney; and great-grandchildren, Sofia, Thia, Scarlett and Robert.

Jace Gerlando Benedek, 14, of Elizabeth Twp, passed away Monday, November 15, 2021. He was born April 12, 2007 in Pittsburgh and was the son of Bobbi Jo Lawson of Elizabeth Twp., and the late John T. Benedek, Jr. Jace was a 9th grade student at Elizabeth Forward High School. He loved to hunt, fish, and to ride quads. He enjoyed football, golf, playing Xbox, and RC Cars, especially with his late father. Jace was a loving and affectionate person who made it a point to make people smile, while also "busting their balls", aggravating and antagonizing them while lighting up the room. He loved being with his family and friends. He really enjoyed eating while simultaneously planning on what his next meal would be. He was known for breaking everything he touched. Jace loved visiting the cabins at Yough Lake and Mt. Davis, where he loved spending time with "Mt. Davis family". He also enjoyed squeezing money out of his Uncle Jeff, who he affectionately called "Uncle Cheapo". Jace loved to "whoop it up" with the weekend gang, Cam Homa, and Brooke and Mason Markland. He was an amazing kid who loved life and will be profoundly missed.

She worked in the bakery department at Giant Eagle, West Mifflin, was a member of St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, a member of the former Christian Mothers and Third Order of Carmelites. She was the wife of the late Charles F. Wirginis; mother of Diana (Robert “Dobe”) Dillinger of Munhall, late Charles R. Wirginis (Mary Ann Zoscak of White Oak survives), late Theodore C. (late Judy) Wirginis; grandmother of Matthew (Aditi) Wirginis and Jennifer (Mike) Mengel; great grandmother of Kaya Wirginis, Nico Wirginis and Ariana Mengel. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters. There is No Public Visitation. A Blessing Service will be held on Monday, November 22, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., with Rev. Mrs. Thompson was a member of The First Presbyterian Church of Duquesne and the Duquesne Family Support Center. She is survived by a loving son, Jason M. Thompson of Wilkinsburg, a brother, Scott R. (Catherine) Bierer of Delmont, a sister Connie Jacob) Collins-Davis of Richmond, Virginia, and four nephews Corey Bierer, Jesse Bierer, Matt Collins and Tres Davis, in addition to her parents, she also was preceded in Death by a nephew, Brad Collins.

York, age 91 of Jefferson Hills, passed away at home on Thursday, November 18, 2021.  Born July 19, 1930 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Paul and Mary (Chasko) Belinski.  A retired secretary for both US Steel Clairton Works and Thomas Jefferson High School, Rita was a member of both Triumph of the Holy Cross Parish, St. Clare of Assisi Church and the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75 Ladies Auxiliary, both of Clairton.  In her spare time, she enjoyed trips to the casino, but loved to cook: especially for big family holidays.  Besides her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Raymond G. York, who passed away March 4, 2021, and her siblings: Paul, Dorothy, and Marie Belinski.  She is survived by her children Randall (Mary) York of Dormont, Monica King of Stow, OH, and Richard York of Pittsburgh; her grandchildren Jennifer York of Bangkok, Thailand, Maureen (J.W.) Johnson of Carnegie, Becca Tracy of Charlotte, NC, and Brett (Lauren Waugh) Tracy of Seattle, WA; her great-grandson Beck Johnson; and also nieces and nephews.
