Genevieve L. “Mum” Scherff, 85, of North Huntingdon, died at home Monday February 29, 2016. She was born October 7, 1930 in Pittsburgh, a daughter of the late Courtland H. and Genevieve (Ackermann) Langworthy and was also preceded in death by a sister Mary McCutcheon. She was a life member of Circleville Volunteer Fire Department, and the North Huntingdon Township Canteen, and was a former member of the Order of Eastern Star.

CUNNINGHAM, 84 of Duquesne, died Feb. 27, 2016.  He is the son of the late Charles and Mabel (James) Cunningham.  Beloved husband of Beverly (Berta) Cunningham.  He is survived by his children Jim (Lisa) Cunningham of Westview, Nancy (Ken) Douglass of West Mifflin and Cathy (Ed) Moody of West Mifflin; grandchildren Anthony and Robbie Douglass and Brandon and Jonathan Moody; brother Charles (Suzie) Cunningham of West Mifflin.  He was preceded in death by his sister Jane Veres and brother Donnie Cunningham.

She was born May 5, 1922 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late George and Gladys Fisher Watt. She was the wife of the late Dean Moreman who died April 25, 1990. Evelyn was a retired telephone operator and had worked for the former Bell Telephone Company. She had also worked for the munitions factory in Lawrenceville during WWII.

She was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Boston and was also a member and president of the Coulters Ladies Auxiliary. She was a 1954 graduate of McKeesport High School and was very involved with the reunion committee.

Mary Lou (Phillips) Lopretto, age 86, of Port Vue, died Feb. 25, 2016, at Mount Vernon of Elizabeth. Born July 9, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Thelma (Ferguson) Phillips. Mary Lou was married for 62 years to Bernard J. Lopretto, Sr, who died Aug. 28, 2010.
Mary Lou was a member of Port Vue United Methodist Church. She was active in the FOD Ladies Group, Chancel Choir, and Good Samaritan Food Pantry.

He was retired from A.J. Demor and Sons and had previously worked for the Limbaugh Co. Ernest was a US Army Veteran and had served in Germany during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Port Vue American Legion and the Pitcairn-Monroeville Sportsman's Club, Inc.

Mildred Burtnett, 101, of Orange, CT and formerly of Clark, NJ, Ocala, FL, North

Huntingdon and White Oak, PA passed away on February 24, 2016 at CT Hospice

in Branford, CT.

Born in McKeesport, PA, in 1914, to Walter and Mary (Volk) Schoeller, Mildred

attended Bryn Mawr and McKeesport Public Schools and graduated from Slippery

Rock University with a teaching certificate. She taught elementary school children

in Lincoln and White Oak schools for almost 30 years.

After retiring, Mildred was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels; RSVP (Retired

Senior Volunteer Program); WPS (Widowed Persons Service); The

Intergenerational Literacy Program; Greenbriar Nursing Home and the Peck Place

Elementary School Library.
