Harold "Herky" Dovey, age 78, of McKeesport, died March 30, 2023, at AHN Jefferson Hospital. Born December 9, 1944, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late John and Marybell Schmidt.
Herky was an avid sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh Pirates. Even though he was a Pirates fan, he would not root for them while watching games. He felt responsible if they lost, but if they won, he was elated. Herky enjoyed collecting baseball cards and studying the back to learn player stats. Herky had an excellent memory of baseball stats and would recall Pittsburgh Pirates lineups as far back as the 1960s. His happiest memories were being around his siblings, nieces, and their children.
Herky is survived by siblings, Colleen (the late Michael) Morgan and Rev. Carl (Janet) Schmidt; niece, Beth (Joe) Pienkoski; great-nephews, Dustin and Trevor Pienkoski. He is also survived by many other nieces, nephews, friends, housemates, and staff. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Mary Jane Tauber, Bill Schmidt, and David Schmidt.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. Rev. Carl Schmidt will officiate.
The burial will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.

Louis T. Campbell, Sr., age 80, of Jefferson Hills, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. He was a member of Monongahela Church of the Nazarene. He had many jobs, including working for Blume Engineering and Allied Security. While working for coal mining companies, he worked as a mechanic and owned Campbell's Lawn Mower Repair where his children were proud to work for their first job. He maintained Lou's Locksmith for years and retired from the maintenance department in the South Park School District. His last job was with the Visiting Angels, which he was very proud of and mentioned to everyone he did that until he was almost 79. He was a Free Mason and member of the Omni Masonic Lodge 582 in Dravosburg, and a long-time member and vice commander of American Legion Post 75 in Clairton. He was proud of being a Santa at Denny's and the mall, where he gave gifts to the kids, and he always had time to camp with his family on the weekends. Born August 11, 1942, he was a son of the late Thomas and Inez (Tessore) Campbell and husband of the late Carol Ann (Paul) Campbell and Deborah J. (Werner) Campbell. He is survived by children, Cindy Lou (Rich) Harrison of Finleyville, Louis Thomas Campbell Jr. of South Park, Melinda Devlin (Shaka) of Floreffe, Kurt Martin of Buena Vista and Derek (Kathryn) Martin of Elizabeth Twp.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Kathy (Butch) Castner and Steve (Susan) Campbell; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by siblings, Tom (in infancy), Barbara Lee, Billy and Jimmy. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Joseph Edward Slack, 84 of McKeesport, formerly of Dravosburg, passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at UPMC Mckeesport Hospital. He was born in Dravosburg on October 23, 1938, to the late Joseph and Sarah “Evelyn” Rack Slack. Joseph was the loving husband of 34 years to the late Rosalie Sgattoni Slack. He is survived by his son Joseph P. (Janet) Slack of Dravosburg, his daughter Julie A. (Wayne) Kutchak of Liberty Boro, sister Martha Domer of Liberty Boro, grandchildren Wayne Kutchak of Port Vue, and Kristin (Ted) DuBois of Cecil Township, and great-grandchildren Taylor, Teagan, Caden, Noah, and Kennedy as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter Lisa M. Slack and his brother Lawrence Slack. He was a member of Corpus Christi, Mary Mother of God Parish in McKeesport, he was a lifetime NRA member and was also a member of the Elizabeth Township Sportsmen's Club. Joseph served in the United States Army. He worked as a crane operator for Duquesne Slag/Lafarge. Robert A. Pecora, age 79, of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, died March 24, 2023, in Palmetto, Florida. Born September 9, 1943, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Anthony R. and Gertrude (Simco) Pecora. Robert was a 1961 graduate of McKeesport High School and was a member of the McKeesport Tigers Marching Band. He furthered his education at Youngstown State University and graduated in 1967 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. He served in the Navy and then the Naval Reserves from 1967 through 1971. After serving in the Navy, Robert began his career at Mobile Oil before starting his own businesses within the oil and automotive industry. Robert’s entrepreneurial spirit continued for the rest of his life.

Charles L. "Chuck" Ferrington, age 66, of Glassport, died March 26, 2023, at home. Born August 23,1956, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Earl and Donna (Gibson) Ferrington and the husband of Patricia (Aigner) Ferrington for 43 years.
Chuck retired from Martin Marietta Materials in St Antonio, TX, as a Master Maintenance Electrician. He retired as an EM2 in the United States Navy. Chuck was a McKeesport High School graduate of class 1974, and continued his education at Texas A & M University. He was a member of the Liberty Vets Club and enjoyed woodworking, playing online games and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.

Barbara A. Thomas, age 72, of Port Vue, died March 22, 2023, at home. Born September 15, 1950, in Port Vue, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Bernice (Byrne) Bronder and the wife of the late Michael Thomas.
Barb dedicated her life to taking care of her son and home. She was a former member of St. Mark Parish. Barb was a strong and selfless woman who was always there for her son.

She was an Elizabeth Forward High School Graduate and went on to obtain her Associates Degree at the Professional Business Institute in Minneapolis, MN. She worked many years as a phlebotomist for McKeesport Hospital; and she also was the proprietor of the Pet Boutique in Charleroi. A long time member of the Boston United Methodist Church and former member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Central Volunteer Fire Co, and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

William (“Mr. Bill”) Robinette, 73, died March 21, 2023, in Illinois after a battle with an illness. Born in Cumberland, Md., he grew up in the Pittsburgh area, where his parents owned a brass and silver plating shop, and he graduated from McKeesport Area High School. He remained a Pittsburgh Steelers fan his entire life and watched weekly games in Lombard with the Chicago area Steelers fan club.
A talented bass player who worked with acts such as The Vogues and The Marcels, in 1974 Mr. Bill went into the live sound business working for Heil Sound, Centaur System, and Advanced Audio, where his clients included Boz Scaggs, McCoy Tyner, Herman’s Hermits, reggae star Jimmy Cliff, and others. His sound system background brought him to Chicago in 1975 where he did installations in area studios, roller rinks, and discotheques.
In addition to installing sound systems and touring as a professional bassist, Mr. Bill also served as a ring announcer for wrestling matches, including for World Wrestling Entertainment and for more than 15 years with the WCPW in Chicago, where he was known as “The Round Mound of Sound.”
Mr. Bill also had a thriving business each holiday season as a nationally known professional Santa Claus, including for four years at the White House during the Obama Administration.
