Jack “Pap” Edward Gereshenski, 67 of Finleyville, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at his home. He was born in Charleroi on September 7, 1954, to the late George and Alma Cullen Gereshenski. Jack was the loving husband of 48 years to Cheryl (Williams) Gereshenski. He is survived by his wife Cheryl as well as their sons Raymond of New Eagle and Ronald (Heather) Gereshenski of Monongahela. Additionally surviving are his adopted grandchildren Dominic, Kayla (Cameron), Jacob (Hailey), Laurisa (Cody). Further grandchildren include Morgan and Carly, as well as a grandchild-in-law Casea. Jack is also survived by his great-grandchildren Gracie and Brooklyn. He is preceded in death by his adopted grandchild Tyler Gereshenski and daughter-in-law Mandy Gereshenski. Jack was a member of the US Army where he served during peacetime. He was also a member of the Dormont-Mount Lebanon Sportsman’s Club as well as Wright’s United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and quad riding. He will be remembered for being a fierce family protector who would always support those he loves without a moment’s hesitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to S.M. FINNEY FUNERAL HOME, 432 N. 6th St, Clairton, PA 15025. A service will take place on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Wright’s United Methodist Church at 11:00 am. Mary Elizabeth "Dolly" (Conn) DiFransico, age 77, of West Newton, formerly of Elizabeth, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Penn Highlands Mon Valley Hospital. She retired as a secretary for Rockwell International in California. She enjoyed gardening, travel, animals, and her grandchildren. Mary was an original, she lived her life her way and we will miss her. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Born March 13, 1945 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Filo) Conn. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Polyviou and her husband Tony of Allendale, NJ, and Andrea Neider and her husband Russ of Reading; grandchildren, Robert Barthold, Corey Barthold and Ava Neider; sisters, Carol Smith of Upper St. Clair and Maxine Kostrzewa of Shaler Twp.; close friend, James Story of Clairton; also, one niece, two nephews and many cousins. Raymond J. Spirnak, 93, of Munhall, entered eternal life peacefully at home on Sunday, May 8, 2022. Born in Duquesne, February 7, 1929, he was the son of the late John  and Elizabeth (Balogac) Spirnak. Mr. Spirnak was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Parish, St. Rita Church, Whitaker and a retired supervisor of Fisher Body, General Motors Corporation and proud veteran of the U.S. Army Korean War. Beloved husband of the late Marie (Dickson) Spirnak, he is also survived by his loving children, Dale (Michele) Spirnak of Munhall, Jacqueline Spirnak of Bridgeville, Gary Spirnak of California, Donna Greiner of Indiana, Karen (Richard) Allen of Tennessee, David Spirnak of Texas and Ray Spirnak of Indiana, five grand children, Eric and Nicholas Greiner, Mark and John Spirnak, and Lauren Poland, one great granddaughter, Vivian Poland and one sister Eleanor (late "Tim") Marcinko, of West Mifflin. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by  sister, late Mary (late John) Sabol.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday May 12, 2022, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M., in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc., 828 Richford Street, Duquesne. A blessing in the memorial home on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 9:15 A.M. will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. in St. Rita Church, with Rev. Nicholas Mastrangelo as celebrant. Kathryn Murphy, 80, of Greensburg, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022 in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg.  She was born December 1, 1941 in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Floyd and Hilda (Overly) Altzinger.  Kathryn enjoyed cooking and shopping.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Murphy; sons, Donald Jr. and Floyd; and daughter, Debbie Murphy.  She is survived by her sons, Ronald, Roger and his wife, Maureen, Dale, Ricky and Billy; daughter, Elizabeth Hertzog and her husband, Dennis; daughters-in-law, Denise and Teri; 15 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.  Friends will be received on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the James W. (Gephart) Cunning of Lincoln Borough and the late Charles Clarence Cunning Jr. He was a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church and was a Dry Waller for Quality Interiors. Brian took care of his mother, and loved to cook, fish and play cards. He also enjoyed spending time with his great niece, Shayla and great nephew, Shane. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son, Ryan (Sarah) Cunning of Fox Chapel; grandsons, Ryan and Nathan Cunning; sister, Judy Ann (Jack) Lewis of Buena Vista; brothers Charles L. Cunning of Christy Park, Dale L. (Jamie) Cunning of Elizabeth Township, and Bruce W. Gertrude Jane Cochenour, 95, of Elizabeth Township passed away on May 8, 2022. She was born December 28, 1926 in McKeesport, daughter of the late Edward K. and Leanora (Andrews) Spear. Gertrude graduated from McKeesport High School and worked at Westinghouse as a draftsperson until she started her family. Gertrude was an active member of Mt. Vernon Community Presbyterian Church as a member of the Women’s Association, handbell choir, nursery volunteer, church bowling league and quilting circle.  She was a great cook and some of her recipes became the “go to” recipes for many church functions. Gertrude was an avid reader, devoted walker and a passionate sports enthusiast. She was the wife of 70 years to the late John F. Cochenour, who passed away April 20, 2020.

Anna “Nina” Intrieri, 90, of Glassport died May 8, 2022.  She is the daughter of the late Berardino and Elizabeth Caione, sister to the late Lucia Teti and Antonino Caione. She emigrated from Palena Italy to America in 1947 due to the aftermath of WWII. Nina is survived by her children Nina Fidler, Frank (Betty) Intrieri, Raymond Intrieri, Jr., Mark Intrieri and James Intrieri; grandchildren Jesse (Lesley) Fidler, Rebecca (Sonny) Fidler, Janine (James) Kester, Ethan Intrieri, Angela Intrieri, Arthur (Andrea) Intrieri, Siena Intrieri, Berardino Intrieri, Ryan Intrieri, Gianna Intrieri, Rocco Intrieri, Douglas (Amanda) Zajac, Thomas (Kristen) Zajac and Kristopher (Jessica) Zajac; great grandchildren Max, Zach, Demi, Della, Grace, Colton, Jaxson, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Bella, Marc, Steven, Sadie and many nieces and nephews. Nina was not only a loving mother to her entire family but shared her love to all those who touched her life. Her talent in the kitchen was yet another expression of her desire to serve friends and family.  She was a 60-year member of The Church of Jesus Christ where she faithfully performed the duties of a deaconess. She was a member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church in Elizabeth Twp., the Daughters of the American Revolution, a charter member of Elizabeth Twp. Historical Society and Central Food Bank, a volunteer with Elizabeth Twp. Meals on Wheels, Blaine Hill VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and a former member of the Central Civic Association which became Central Volunteer Fire Department. She helped organize the bicentennial commemoration in McKeesport of the Lewis and Clark Expedition. She enjoyed craft shows and genealogy. Born September 1, 1929 in Elizabeth Twp., she was a daughter of the late Fredrick Anthony and Corrine F. (Howell) Wolfe and wife of the late Alfred Fredrick Werner Jr. She is survived by her sons, David (Pamela) Werner of Rostraver and Brian (Amy) Werner of Carrollton, OH; grandchildren, Jacquelyn, Julia and Michael; great-grandchildren, Ava, Alexandrea, Daxton and Terren; also, nieces and nephews. Phyllis Brown went home to be with her God and Saviour on Saturday, May 7, 2022.  Phyllis was loved by all who knew her.  She was the beloved wife to her husband, Jim, and mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to a family who adored her.  She was a former member of Miller United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and vacation bible school, and was active in the ladies craft group and fundraising dinners.  She most recently was a member of Calvary Chapel in Greensburg and enjoyed the women's bible study group and preparing morning coffee with her sisters in Christ.  Phyllis battled with dementia and was lovingly cared for during her last months by the wonderful staff at Redstone Highlands, North Huntingdon.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Phyllis (Ray) Peck; sister, Carol (Peck) Williams, husband, James Brown; and granddaughter, Amanda Brown.  She is survived by her children, Deborah Connelly, Richard Brown, and Aaron (Tamarah) Brown; sister, Barbara Rokasky; grandchildren, Jamie Fitzgerald, Jarrett Brown and Hannah Brown; and great-grandchildren, Jesse, Jordan, Kai-Wen and Violet.    Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the James W. Rita (Bowers) Lewis, age 88, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Rita was a stay-at-home, loving mother who encouraged her children to be strong and independent. She endured a very harsh life growing up, including having polio. Despite all her hardships during her lifetime, she was still able to make her home a loving one. Rita was a past member of First Presbyterian Church in Clairton and was also a member and deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Elizabeth. Rita loved being involved in her church, as a cook for many years as well as a volunteer to decorate or collect for church functions and/or for charities. Born May 15, 1933 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Martin Elroy Bowers Sr. and the late Sarah Agnes (O’Leary) Bowers Lewis, and wife of 65 years to the late James R. Lewis. She is survived by her children, Aritha M. (Bryce) Lewis of Lafayette, LA, and Terry Edward (Annette) Lewis of Duncansville; daughter-in-law, Susie Lewis of California; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was proceeded in death by her son, James Richard Lewis; grandson, Bryce James Lewis; sister, Sarah Rose Kertis; and brothers, Martin Bowers Jr. and Sam Bowers. Fern Martinelli, 91, of McKeesport passed away Saturday, May 7, 2022. She was born October 27, 1930 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Clara (Walters) Markham. She was the wife to the late Russell R. Martinelli, who passed away July 13, 1965. Fern worked many years for Continental Can in the cafeteria and eventually into the factory. She then worked for McKeesport Hospital as a Hospital Escort from 1976-1992. She loved taking trips to the casino with her sister and she was an extremely involved and loving mother.

James “Jim” Ward

James “Jim” Ward, of White Oak, died peacefully at home on May 5, 2022, shortly after celebrating his 65th birthday with his family. Loving husband to Sharon (née Kundman) of McKeesport, they were happily married for 43 years.
Jim worked for over 24 years as a housekeeping supervisor at Kane Hospital in Glen Hazel and later Mercy Behavioral Health. An avid outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting until suffering a major stroke in 2010 that left him partially paralyzed. He also enjoyed annual family vacations to the beach. Jim will always be remembered as a hard-working, upbeat, fighter.
