He was born September 10, 1956 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Domenic J. and Josephine Costanzo Betters. He was a member of Saint Sebastian Catholic Church, Belle Vernon, and had worked for his family's business, the former D.J. Betters Wrecking Co. He is survived by his son, Domenic John (Tina) Betters and granddaughter, Elizabeth Josephine Betters of Pittsburgh, daughter, Terra Marie (Scott) Huxtable of Norfolk, VA, sisters, Jane (Wendell) DePoppe of Imperial and Barbara (John) Knezovich of McKeesport, brother, Michael (Deborah) Betters of Lincoln, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Betters.

Gary loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He was a wonderful husband and will be greatly missed by his wife. He was proprietor of Gary Schork Plastering. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sharon Keeler Schork, brothers, Michael J. (Janet) Schork and Brian L. (Eren) Schork of West Newton, brother-in-law, Richard E. He also sang in the choir at St. John's Church for over 40 years, a member of the quartet group called the Overtones and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War .
